GGuest UserHongcun Yushan mountain scenery house is convenienly located near the South Gate of Hongcun Scenic area. We booked courtyard B which is located outside and behind the main hotel complex with breakfast included. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable, and had a small courtyard, but unfortunately no garden chairs or table to sit outside. In hindsight we woud book another room in the main complex next time. It has a lovely open garden and plenty of outdoor seating. I contacted the hotel before our stay and managed by using a voice translator to connect with the staff on Wechat. A friendly staff member met us at the entrance to the scenic area and entry is free of charge when you stay at the hotel. The hotel staff don't speak any English, but they were very helpful and friendly and we got along fine using Wechat and other translators. I won't recommend eating dinner at the hotel as there are many local Chinese restaurants in the ancient village. The hotel offers a coffee shop in the lobby and has a number of options, like Americano, Latte etc. The coffee is very good, but I felt it was a bit pricey for the cup size. The hotel breakfast is Chinese with no Western options, and it is served in unique way in a tray. I enjoyed the breakfast, but my husband would have liked more western options. On our arrival the room was already pre-heated and the beds in the room were comfortable. It was snowing lightly when we arrived and there were umbrellas available in the room. They also provide vanity items. We visited just before the Chinese New Year tourist rush at the beginning of the holiday and this was a very good location and time to visit despite the cold weather. The ancient village was not too crowded and it was nice to walk around in the evenings and daytime with the hotel is situated conveniently right next to the South lake. Drone flying is allowed which can give drone flyers an aerial view of the village. Depending on your iterinary a one night stay is sufficient to visit Hongcun and the nearby Xidi ancient village then move on to another hotel at the foot or top of the mountain or Tunxi village. We enjoyed our stay and can recommend this hotel to travelers wanting a good hotel experience in Hongcun.

GGuest UserMy family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise.
The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days.
At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us.
Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

YYoukaishileshimaThis time I took my parents out and booked a two-bedroom room. The room has a small bedroom with a folding door, which is suitable for family travel. You can see the clouds on the mountain directly from the window, which is beautiful! My parents are super satisfied with the homestay. They praised it as soon as they entered the door, and the rest was good! Recommend everyone to stay!
Environment: This trip to Huizhou chose to stay in Hongcun Scenic Area. The homestay is near the big tree at the entrance of the village. It is easy to find, convenient to enter and exit the scenic area, and it is also quieter. There is a small river next to the homestay, and the scenery is also good!
Facilities: Smart home appliances throughout the house, Xiao Ai controls the air conditioning, TV lighting and curtains, the bathroom quality is good, the shower water flow is also large, dry and wet separation, the hair dryer is a high-speed hair dryer, very easy to use! The mattress and quilt are also comfortable. There are dryers and even shoe dryers. It really reflects the care of the homestay in detail
Hygiene: The homestay can feel clean and tidy as soon as you enter the courtyard. The room is very new. There is no odor after entering the room. It is very clean. Although it is next to the river, it is not humid.
Service: What is worth mentioning is the service. From the communication with the boss lady on WeChat before check-in to the experience during the stay, it was very good! The staff is warm and thoughtful, and responds quickly! In addition to the boss lady, I have the most contact with Xiao Wang, the housekeeper, in the past few days. Although he is young, he is serious and responsible in his work and thoughtful! Like 👍🏻 (the one driving in the photo is Xiao Wang)

GGuest UserThe stay at Hongcun Zuoxian Art Hotel was remarkable. Received a call from the host (小李管家) while on the way to confirm my arrival time and needs. She even helped me arrange a driver to pick us up from the Huangshan North train station at a reasonable cost. Driver (李师傅) was friendly and gave us lots of tips while visiting Huangshan and we ended up using his services throughout the 3 days we were there.
When we arrived, 小李管家 was right at the hotel entrance waiting for my for us and checkin into our rooms was a breeze. Rooms were clean with all the amenities you will need for a comfortable stay. Most impressive was the hotel layout and design which was very artsy and minimalist for a place like Hongcun. It was simply amazing! Me and my family especially loved the lobby and the coziness especially in front of the fireplace during winter.
Hotel Location was within walking distance (200m) to Hongcun Ancient village and around 40mins drive to Huangshan mountain and around 1.5hrs drive to the Huangshan North Station or Tunxi Ancient Street.
Will definitely recommend this hotel to all our friends and relatives if they are planning to visit Huangshan one day!!!

LLi Ping TohThis has to be the highlight of this trip to China.
Tachuan is almost a complete resort by itself. We had tea by the creek, main meals overlooking a gorgeous paddy field, read near a stream. There are little activity areas dotted around the resort where you can experience dressing in hanfu, practise the zither, as well as play chess or practise your calligraphy.
The staff has to be the best I encountered this whole travel, they went over and above what they needed to do, including bringing us on a hike to the nearby National Park. The National Park is a nice area to spend a morning at.
Ducks and rabbits wander freely in the estate, and there are 2 adorable cats.
There is free transport to or from Hong Cun, which is a Unesco village. Personally, I should have just explored Hong Cun for a afternoon and still return to stay another night at Ta Chuan, instead of spending one night at Hong Cun

Service: The staff were extremely accommodating and welcoming! We were able to communicate via WeChat and organize transportation beforehand.
Location: This guesthouse is a 5 minute drive from the main Hongcun Village entrance and the owners kindly drove us there! Although this hotel isn’t inside the village itself, it’s still convenient and in a quiet location!
It’s a 1 hour drive from the Huangshan North Railway station and 1 hour drive to the Huangshan Tangkou Transfer Center.
Food: There’s a restaurant on-site which has an extensive dinner menu. Honestly, you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner without leaving the premises! Very convenient and the food is good quality- highly recommend.
Amenities: The guesthouse is newly renovated and has top notch furnishings. Everything is clean and comfortable. The floor heating was nice to have in December!

DDeAlchemistThe owner sent someone to pick me from the west gate after i was missing the way to the hotel and tired dragging the luggage on uneven stone road. The owner has surprised me with an upgraded room with a little garden and projector. The owner and staffs are very friendly and helpful too.
The hotel is clean, modern and well design. It consists 2 buildings which are separated by the walkway. The location is perfect and short walking distance to west gate which is surrounded by restaurants and shops out of the hongcun scenic area. I had an enjoyable walk out of the scenic area after my early morning photography at 5am and before tourists have started flocking in.
A stay in hungcun is highly recommended if you are planning to have a peaceful photography session without any tourists at all. I will not wake up such early at 5am without the recommendations given by the owner. You will expect the calm and clearer water. Do take note that the locals may wash their clothes thus interrupting the calmness of the water.
I will definitely stay in this hotel again if going to hungcun again.

AAnonymous UserTo be honest, I don't like staying in B&Bs. Most B&Bs are not very grand. They are just for making quick money, but they don't provide any service. The employees are usually just friends or relatives, or they are from the same village, so there is no service to speak of. I would like to talk about my feelings about staying in this hotel. I won’t talk about the accommodation environment for now. Holiday economy housing is definitely expensive. We took a shower first after we moved in. Because the B&B didn’t provide laundry detergent or something like that, I used shower gel to wash my clothes. After washing, I found that there were not enough bathing supplies, so I contacted the B&B to send a set. They replied that the toiletries we were equipped with were more expensive, so they only gave us one set. They said that if we needed more, we could only get toiletries of another brand. I suddenly felt uncomfortable. The accommodation fee was more than 1,000 yuan a night, and I didn’t know how expensive this set of toiletries was? Four small bottles of Evian water were provided, and we didn't feel comfortable asking for more after we finished them. What I want to say is that your service concept and the fees you charge don't match, because I have stayed in countless hotels, and this is the first time I have encountered such a thing. Secondly, the breakfast is very simple. Among the four side dishes, only the pickled vegetables were bought and the only one that was freshly made was the fried tofu. Also, I heard a guest wanted to ask the management for some fruit, but you refused. As a guest, it took her courage to ask you for something. Is there something wrong with your management model and business model? I wanted it to be high-end, but the service was not up to par. I'm so embarrassed that I really want to get it off my chest.

CChi Kwan BrainThe hotel is a brand new one. Once arrived, the hotel reception staff served with a warm smile and generously grant us free breakfast for 2 mornings. Hotel renovation looks well and the room facilities are all modern and high tech. I was particularly impressed with its WCPan which has an auto washing services for buttock. The bed linen and flooring are clean well. Environment nearby is beautiful village scene where we enjoy having a lesuire walk there. All in all, it is a very good hotel which can make you relax even you just stay in the hotel. Ha one more that is the restaurant next to the hotel where one may enjoy delicious Chinese meals. The staff there are also very nice. Eating there is just like having meals at home. I am sure I will stay in Vienna again when next time I go to huangshan.

As a homestay with a score of more than 4.8 in a famous domestic scenic spot, it does not have the usual services at all! I don't know where the good reviews about the service came from. 1. If they didn’t come to pick us up at the village entrance, we expressed our hope that they would come to pick us up, but they still didn’t, so we contacted Ctrip, hoping to cancel the reservation and get a refund. The merchant came to pick it up. It also came relatively slowly. I am a person who likes to stay in high-scoring B&Bs. Anyway, it is slower than other hotels. 2. There is no service to introduce local attractions. They are very frugal with words. I asked if there were any electric bikes for rent, and he said no, but there were some right opposite the scenic area. 3. When I contacted a carpooler to go to the airport, they only gave me the driver's contact information, didn't ask for the price, and didn't find a driver according to my departure time. . . Later, I found a driver with the right time. There are no staff members in Courtyard 4.2, so it is difficult to find anyone. There is no lock on the gate of Courtyard No. 2, and the courtyard is open. There are always tourists who want to come in. If they want to have some tea in the courtyard, they have to be the receptionist and answer the tourists' questions. Other homestays have a small sign at the door, saying private courtyard, non-hotel guests please do not disturb. I put a small bamboo stool to block the small wooden door. The air conditioning is not very powerful and it is not central air conditioning. If the weather is cold, the room will definitely be very damp and cold. April was fine. 6. The shower head is really small! ! ! 6. It is not easy to contact the store owner through WeChat. He is very busy and lives in a very humble place anyway.
