The Grand Bristol by Sunday
"I'm a big fan of this hotel and have stayed more than once: the location and the character of the hotel are really great. For those two reasons alone, I'd return (price permitting). However, the rebrand and change of the service model leave a lot to be desired: to call reception required scanning a QR code and picking a landline/mobile number which may/may not have been answered - it took 4-5 minutes; the safe in our room didn't work and engineering never came to fix it; the wifi in the room was mediocre; we love Indian food, but that was the only choice in the restaurant in the evening. This is now somewhere to sleep and not to stay and be taken care of."
CLAYTON HOTEL BRISTOL CITY
"Excellent location for Bristol City Centre. Good breakfast and extremely clean rooms. Helpful staff. Thanks"
DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol North
"Fantastic hotel convenient for what I needed. What a treat to have a pool - well maintained and while it was popular it never felt crowded and always space in the sauna. Very friendly front of house staff and house keepers. Reasonably priced food and drinks. Kids meals are great too."
Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel
"The good things about the hotel were its location. Close to restaurants, a famous Banksy or two, lots of shops and theatres. Is a beautiful hotel with nice places to sit and meet if you are in a group. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The car park, despite being £17 per night, was actually better value than other options nearby and we were able to leave the car there until midnight on the day of check out. The negatives were that we were not able to get a reservation in the hotel restaurant which we found unusual. We had a group from 8 to 80 so we were worried about walking yet had no choice as they couldn’t fit us in. They were also impossible to contact as they didn’t reply to messages. There was chaos at check in with guests waiting for up to an hour to check in and get their keys. There were long queues for over two hours from 3pm to at least 5pm. Their excuse was that the hotel was fully booked but it’s not as though they didn’t know all those people were coming! They should have been prepared and there were a lot of unhappy customers that Saturday evening. Some front desk staff were flustered and sorry but couldn’t do anything about it and some didn’t seem to care. We were there a bit earlier so they could have got the process started but they wouldn’t so we had to queue twice. We were quite fed up. Even after all that and me paying £68 for 4 cars I had to keep repeating that I had already paid that and the next day. Something in the system needs to change as it’s frustrating to spend 2 hours checking in when you are only staying for 1 night. Perhaps if they are expecting so many people again they could put out tea and coffee in the tea lounge with a screen to enter and pay for your car and then have some kind of ticket system where you are called to the desk when it’s your turn. It certainly needs better management as it’s not the welcome you expect when you’ve paid to stay in the Marriott brand."
The Bristol Hotel
"Excellent location, near the restaurants and galleries of central Bristol, 5 minutes walk to Park Street. Friendly and helpful staff."
Majestic Hotels Bristol
"Tired room, lacks plug sockets or USB ports by bed for phone charging."
Travelodge Bristol Abbey Wood
"We arrived to the hotel late at night, check in was quick and simple, had a good nights sleep then a great breakfast in the morning. Rooms are basic and missing some necessary storage or shelving."
Windylands
Leonardo Hotel Bristol City
"Beautifully and exceptionally clean hotel lobby and room but room decor was very cold and bland. Comfy bed, lovely shower and great range of products to use. We had a very good breakfast included in our stay and lots of choice. Atmosphere was very flat and depressing - no chatter or conversation from staff which was a shame - probably the constant depressing ‘music’ which was being played. Location was about a 10-15 min walk into Bristol which was fine for us as we love walking. The hotel overlooks graffitied waste ground and the ring road runs right next to it so no lovely views sadly. Most staff looked glum, no conversation or friendliness just bored young staff behind the bar. One lady at reception made up for all of them with her super-bubbly personality. Quite a few were on their phones - hotel was very quiet for a bank holiday. NO parking on-site but there is use of another nearby. Food was okay-to-good - nothing outstanding and quite expensive but only to be expected in a city hotel. Overall, it was worth the discounted price we got it for - definitely would have looked elsewhere if it had been full price."

Travelodge Bristol Filton
"The shower and shower curtain were filthy and has a bad smell. I don’t know why the hotel opted for shower curtain, but they were unacceptably dirty and stained. "

The Dark Horse Pub
"We had a great time here, I imagine it would be quite loud on weekends as its above a pub but it was fine midweek"
Ramada by Wyndham Bristol West
"Convenient location, just off M5 and 10 mins drive from Portishead. Arrived at 7pm and parking was challenging - no bays free outside hotel or in the overflow parking on the edge of the lorry parking. Because of the one way system ended going out and round the roundabout multiple times to try and park. Once I got to the hotel I was told you can park anywhere on site (£5 charge) which would have been very useful to know this in advance. Spacious room. Very odd double bed with two narrow and convex single mattresses under a sheet, very uncomfortable. Ironing board burnt/stained. Some stains on carpet. I didn't visit restaurant/bar area. Not terribly noisy given location. Overpriced at £90 + £5 parking"
Holiday Inn Express BRISTOL CITY CENTRE by IHG
"The hotel was perfectly situated across the road from the train station and within easy walking distance of the town centre. We were checked in by Amber, who was so friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price and the buffet provided was plentiful. Definitely would stay again!"
Travelodge Bristol Central Mitchell Lane
"My wife and I went to this hotel and met a lovely chap called nick. So warm and welcoming. An absolute laugh, we was in hysterics of laughter the moment we arrived. The booking process with nick was so quick and easy! Absolute amazing chap. His hospitality really made our visit one we'll never forget!! The place was clean, smelt fresh and our room was pristine! - Thank you Nick for a great experience! We'll definitely be using travel lodge again!! We look forward to seeing you very soon!!"
Harbour Hotel & Spa Bristol
"We loved our stay here and wish we could have stayed more than one night! The spa is an extra £10 per person for an hour of use, which is well worth it. The breakfast is good quality and the room was very comfortable."
