1. First of all, the hotel is very clean and quiet. The service and hardware of many four- or five-star hotels are better. For example, the mattress, quilt, pillow and other bedding are very good. The bathroom equipment is first-class. The shower nozzle is super comfortable and hot water is instant. The hair dryer is Dyson's, and the toilet is Kohler electric. There are also small, electric curtains, automatic control central air conditioning, etc.;
2. Intimate service, first-class: free pick-up and drop-off of high-speed rail, rich breakfast such as corn, pumpkin, yam is very delicious, freshly squeezed watermelon juice is not enough, sheep powder and meat noodles are not lost to outside restaurants, welcome fruit quality is also very good, every day after breakfast warm heart sister and little handsome guy are rotated We took water and homemade delicious bread, and also sent Shanxi specialty souvenirs. When we left, it was the high-speed rail at 9 pm. We also repeatedly asked where we were and asked us to take us to the train station. It was awesome;
3. The hotel is very close to various attractions in the ancient city. It is very convenient to travel. Datong's tourism resources are too rich: Yungang Grottoes + Huayan Temple + Shanhua Temple + Datong City Museum + Intangible Tiehua Show + Dream Datong Show are all must-go classics, Datong's food Xijin Road + 369 purple mud grains + Fenglin Pavilion + Munch powder, etc. are very recommended, Shanxi people's simplicity and hospitality are vividly reflected, very homely.
The boss never let us give praise, it is really simple, so I have to evaluate it if I have less evaluation;
I will definitely stay here next time and recommend it to friends and family.

2208363****This B&B is incredibly popular! It has five-star decor, five-star service, and four-star pricing. The location is fantastic, next to the Four Archways, across from the Dai Palace, and a seven- to eight-minute walk from Huayan Temple. Two excellent noodle shops are just outside the door, and the B&B has a breakfast contract with them, offering a variety of set menus. For us southerners, the portions are plentiful and we can't finish them all. The B&B has a small courtyard where you can sit and sip tea or write, which is quite comfortable. The housekeepers were very attentive and even helped us check out late when we left. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Datong and highly recommend it to friends. The only downside is that the smart speaker is a bit annoying, and I became the target of teasing from my children. I also recommend that the laundry room be equipped with disinfectant.

GGuest UserWe took a 23-day trip through China, staying in 9 different hotels. Without hesitation, I can say that our stay at Floral stood out in many ways. First, the hotel's structure is very beautiful and has been renovated while staying true to the traditional style of the region. The hotel room itself was probably the most beautiful we had seen on our entire trip: spacious, with windows that actually opened, good air conditioning, and modern decor and furniture without being over the top. Second, the hotel's location is within the boundaries of the city wall and is part of the old town, so beautiful to walk around and see the traditional houses - many of them renovated according to the traditional style. And third and most importantly, the kindness of the people who work at the hotel. I have never felt so welcome anywhere on holiday as at this place. Unfortunately, I arrived with health problems and needed antibiotics - equivalents of the ones I had brought from Europe. I asked the reception where I could find the closest pharmacy, but rather than guiding me there, Xiao Liu, the lady at the reception, figured out for me which antibiotic would be the right one and got it for me. The same when we needed a suitcase, rather than sending me to the shop she inquired about our desired suitcase and in one hour it was there. Drinks are complementary at any time of the day, and the breakfast (Chinese and international - sandwiches) was generous and unlimited. When we were running late coming back from the grottoes and needed to catch a train, Xiao Liu helped us out by bringing us all our suitcases directly to the train station. We will never forget all these acts of kindness and we are still grateful to her and the entire hotel staff for making us feel so much at home. Datong will stay in our minds and hearts forever thanks to the people of the Floral hotel. Datong is special enough for all the incredible cultural sights you can visit - but our stay there will never be forgotten thanks to the beauty of the Floral Hotel and its amazing people. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

I had an incredible stay at Tangfang Courtyard in Datong, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment my girlfriend and I arrived, we were warmly welcomed by 刘 (Liu), who made us feel right at home. She was incredibly friendly and helpful, always available to assist with any questions we had throughout our stay—her hospitality truly elevated our experience.
The hotel itself is a charming blend of coziness and comfort. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, with a wonderful atmosphere that made it easy to relax after a day of sightseeing. The entire property exudes warmth and character, offering a peaceful retreat in the heart of Datong.
One of the best aspects of the Tangfang Courtyard is its location. It’s perfectly situated for exploring the old city, with many attractions within walking distance. We enjoyed wandering through the narrow streets and discovering the rich history of the area.
Another highlight was the fresh breakfast offered each morning. It was a lovely way to start the day, with a variety of delicious options to choose from.
Overall, our stay was nothing short of fantastic, and I would highly recommend Tangfang Courtyard to anyone visiting Datong. The combination of excellent service, great location, and cozy ambiance made it a perfect choice for our trip.

GGuest UserThis is a fantastic B&B, branded ”Huazhu,” with attentive service and excellent quality. It's very close to the city wall, making it easy to get around, as bicycles and electric scooters are available for rent downstairs. The front desk lady was very nice and attentive, and free Tremella and Pear Soup, lemonade, and coffee were available in the lobby. While the rooms aren't very large, they're well-designed, with separate wet and dry areas and a walk-in closet, making them very convenient. Most notably, the smart air conditioning system ensures quiet operation and excellent cooling, allowing for a restful night's sleep. The breakfast is also unique, with a nine-square grid layout, each with its own unique character, catering to the elderly, children, and those craving sliced noodles. A small gift of local specialties was also given upon departure. My family said they'd stay again next time! ✅

GGuest UserThe location is superb, right within the ancient city. For those driving, parking is available at the Nine Dragon Wall parking lot, just a 100-meter walk away. Despite being in a tourist area, it offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. Guandi Temple is also conveniently located nearby. The service was excellent, and breakfast was quite good too. Both the owner and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Although the May Day holiday prices were significantly higher than usual, the convenience made it completely worthwhile. Highly recommended!

MMethilanI spent nearly a week at Datong Milan/Magnolia Hotel (Dai Residence branch) and it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay
Location:
- Nestled a quieter part of the ancient city, that provided a peaceful retreat after each day of exploring.
- 10 minutes to some of the attractions of the old town
- 15-20 minute walk to the popular restaurants and more attractions
- 30 minute walk to Huayan Temple and its nearby street markets.
I'm always happy to walk but if needed, I could always use DiDi to take me around.
Falling asleep without street noise is something I like. There is a bit of building work going nearby, which is happening all over Datong Ancient City, but nothing too major.
Nearby is the Ancient City's wall, but walk past that and you can see the locals dance in the morning in the park or walk along the canal/moat in the evening.
Room:
The room was surprisingly spacious, offering plenty of room to spread out and relax, a welcome change from cramped city accommodations. The staircase is a bit narrow, so those with lots of big luggage might struggle (no lift)
Importantly, it was very clean and well equipped. I especially liked the Chinese tea ceremony set!
Service:
- Despite a noticeable language barrier, everyone went above and beyond with smiles, helpful gestures, and clear efforts to communicate.
- Especially the manager, who told me about local food to try, things to do and asked if I needed anything. She noticed that I was bringing back leftovers from the restaurant, and bottled drinks from the shops, and said I could use the fridge.
- I can't speak Chinese so when the delivery driver came to drop off my order, the staff will take it from the reception and bring it to me.
- Unfortunately, breakfast isn't available here
- Drinking water topped up. Humidifier and mosquito repellent were provided when needed.
I will not hesitate to book here again on my next visit and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking comfort and genuine warmth in Datong!

GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is perfect. It is the right place to stay when visiting the Hanging Temple and Jin Temple. The room and bed are large, especially suitable for bringing children. It is no problem for a family of three to stay in a big bed. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas. The breakfast is also very good. Overall, it is very cost-effective.

AAnonymous UserBecause I like big rooms, I booked a family room, and there are extra discounts for staying for three days. The hotel is on the 20th-21st floor of a building next to Datong Railway Station. Downstairs is the Aegean Shopping Park. The second underground floor is the hotel parking lot. You have to pay the parking fee in advance and the hotel will reimburse you later. The room decoration is simple, and towels, cups and other utensils are disposable. The sanitary conditions are good. The first room assigned was next to the laundry room and had a sewage odor, so we were quickly moved to another room. There is a Tonghe Hotel near the train station, which serves authentic Datong cuisine and is not expensive. There is a Fudao Noodle Restaurant on Wuding West Street, 300 meters away from the hotel, which serves breakfast at 6:30, and it tastes good.
