Overall, I highly recommend this hotel! It's located right next to the embassy, and a taxi from the airport costs around 400-500 Thai Baht (Grab is a little pricier), taking about half an hour. There's also the Rama 9 MRT blue line nearby, which is convenient for getting to Lumphini Park, the Grand Palace, or transferring to the green line to Sathorn Pier. From there, you can take a boat along the Chao Phraya River to ICONSIAM. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs – seriously, try the Meiji cantaloupe milk! Next door is the Central Rama 9 shopping mall, which has a Tops supermarket and a great Thai restaurant called Have a Zeed. There's also a Lotus's supermarket just across the street. The front desk staff and breakfast team were all very welcoming and provided excellent service. I had breakfast for four days; while the variety was a bit limited, it was clean and well-organized. The chef at the egg station made really good fried or scrambled eggs, and the Tom Yum noodles at the noodle station are definitely worth trying. The hotel pool is on the eighth floor; the water is clean, but there's no lifeguard. You can bring your own float, and the staff will even help you inflate it. Bangkok traffic can get pretty bad at night, with lots of honking, so I'd recommend choosing a higher floor for better sleep quality. The room cleanliness was also good. All in all, it offers fantastic value for money. Highly recommended! The Bangkok night view from the hotel is quite nice too.

This was a really nice hotel located in a quiet area with many Korean and Japanese restaurants just outside the hotel. The staff were friendly and super helpful. The train station is within walking distance of the hotel. It was also very easy to get ride ride hailing taxis such as Grab to the hotel. The best thing about this hotel was how spacious the rooms were! The rooms were cleaned daily, and fresh towels were provided every night by the hotel team. Although this hotel is not centrally located we really enjoyed our stay because we wanted to be away from crowds, but within easy access to public transport.

The hotel is beautiful, bright, and contemporary. We couldn't check into our room immediately upon arrival, but we were able to leave our luggage at the reception desk while we went into the city.

We had a spacious family room with a king-size bed and a bunk bed. The mattresses on the bunk bed were incredibly hard, offering no give at all when you sat on them. This took a lot of getting used to and wasn't very comfortable. The double bed was also firm, but slightly less rigid than the bunk bed mattresses.

The restaurant on the 15th floor is good, with a decent variety of options on the menu. The view from the rooftop terrace and inside the restaurant is absolutely stunning! The swimming pool is on the same floor as the restaurant, also offering fantastic views. The only downside is that there are only a few sun loungers available.

The coffee shop on the ground floor is nice and convenient. The coffee is delicious, and there's a wide selection of drinks. They also have croissants and other treats to go with your coffee. Prices are a bit higher than average. The hotel offers a shuttle service that runs hourly along a specific route, dropping you off at two BTS stations and the ARL (Airport Link), among other places. You can easily walk to the ARL station, it's about a 10-minute stroll, and you'll even pass a good breakfast spot along the way.

The hotel is a bit further from well-known malls like MBK and Icon Siam, as well as Chinatown and Khao San Road. However, if you take the ARL and then transfer to the BTS, you can be in Chinatown in about 35 minutes. A 7-Eleven is located opposite the hotel, and there are many street food stalls on the street outside. Many locals pick up food there or even sit down to eat.

The gym is good, open until 9 PM, and has air conditioning.

The rooms were cleaned daily, and the beds were made. They always neatly arranged our nightwear on the bed in decorative shapes.

Aside from the hard mattresses, we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We would definitely recommend it.

Staying in Japan Street was fantastic! You've got bars, massages, and food all at your fingertips. Other than a bit of traffic, it's super convenient right by the hotel entrance. The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Plus, the Spanish restaurant right outside the door is pretty good too!

The location is great, there's a 7-Eleven right across from the hotel, and a fantastic grilled food stall (the dried beef and chicken wings are amazing) at the nearby alley entrance. There are also many massage parlors around (though some don't seem very 'pure'), so we opted for the ones near the main road intersection, which were excellent! 

The hotel offers a very convenient shuttle service that runs until 11 PM and is available on demand. The staff during this stay were also wonderful (they helped us achieve our 'zoo legend' goal)! The tip was definitely worth it... so happy!

I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

I'll definitely be coming back to stay here on my next trip to Thailand.

Balcony & washing machine are so handy . The rooms are very generous sizing .

The washer pressure & temp were so so good. 

Breakfast choices are rotated from day to day . So you never get bored. 

Everything you need is in the street . I like the 1st massage place . 

It’s way to get or order transport & the lovely door people will help 💜

Bed was abit hard for me but you can ask for a pillow topper .

We stayed here as a family of five (2 adults and 3 children) during our layover from Nha Trang. We had a large suite with multiple bedrooms. Everything was clean and nice, and the service was good. They met us at the airport, brought us to the hotel, and checked us in quickly. They also recommended places to go for a walk. In the morning, they took us back to the airport. The transfer was available for an additional fee.

My main criterias for choosing hotels in Vietnam is space and cleanliness - Somerset exceeds expectations here. will point out that you will need to request toiletries and slippers on arrival since they don’t include by default. The location isn’t the most central but it’s good as a base.

The facilities are complete, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff at the front desk, housekeeping, and the doorman are all incredibly friendly. The pool is a bit cold for this weather. The breakfast restaurant is a little small, but the breakfast quality is quite good. You can borrow bicycles for free, and there are a few roads nearby with less traffic that are suitable for cycling. There are quite a few unfinished buildings around West Lake.

It was a bit difficult to get a taxi on the morning of Chinese New Year's Day, probably because everyone was visiting relatives ^_^

A small suggestion: it would be great if there were some instructions for the kitchen appliances. We spent a long time trying to figure out how to turn on the range hood, and a staff member eventually had to help us. It also took a while to figure out how to use the induction cooktop.

Overall, it's very good.

From the moment I walked in, the service was top-notch. The front desk staff were warm, efficient, and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. Housekeeping was impeccable—my room was spotless every single day, and turndown service was a nice touch.
The location is perfect—close to major attractions, restaurants, and public transport, yet quiet enough at night for a great sleep. The room itself was spacious, well-designed, with super comfortable bedding and blackout curtains that actually work.
Breakfast was a highlight—great variety, fresh ingredients, and the omelet station was a bonus. The gym and pool were well-maintained too.
Worth every penny. I’d absolutely stay here again without hesitation.

This hotel was perfect for attending Chen Chusheng's concert. It's just one subway stop from University Town, so getting back to the hotel quickly after the show was a breeze. A big shout-out to Guangzhou's excellent management; the order was fantastic! The hotel's location deserves full marks – it's right by subway exit A, super close! 😁 The higher floor offered great views, and the room was spacious. The breakfast had delicious bread and waffles 🧇, tasty freshly made rice noodles, and plenty of fruit. We enjoyed the views while we ate. Both the floor staff and the ground floor attendants were very friendly. If you have time, you can also walk along the greenway on the island. The only downside is the price, around 500 a night, but overall, it was a good experience.

The apartment is very spacious. Main room has ensuite bathroom with bathtub. Toilet with electronic bidet seat. Second bedroom has a super single bed, we paid for an extra bed. Second toilet in kitchen is clean. Well equipped kitchen. There is washing machine and dryer as well. Just that the carpet is a bit worn out and initially there is a weird smell upon entering the apartment but after opening the windows & airing the place, all is good. Aircon and shower works well. Overall is great for us. There are security at lobby which is great. Staff are friendly and professional. Location is great. Steps away from VT101, walking distance to Grand View mall, many shopping malls and metro station.
