We loved the proximity to such a wonderful beach, which was beautiful clean and undisturbed. The service at the resort was top notch, ranging the poolside personnel who took care of all over needs to housekeeping who were attentive and proactive in their cleaning and tidying. We were also impressed by the facilities - the pools were fantastic as was the buffet meals. Special shout out to yoga master Roland, who conducted a bespoke class for us and was able to cater to our different levels of flexibility and technique.  His manner also made us feel extremely at home - thank you Roland!

Nice hotel but old

It is a spacious and well-designed hotel that satisfies our needs. We enjoyed our stay, including the pool, boat tour, and suite tour.

Very satisfied, very amazing! The hotel was originally built in 1967 and designed by Asia's most outstanding architect, Geoffrey Bawa. The hotel reopened in December 2019, trying to preserve the original appearance of Bawa's buildings, recreating the famous batik ceiling entrance, and the brass peacock sculpture created by Laki once again stands on the stair railings of the restaurant. The 30 rooms in the main building have been converted into 16 suites, L-shaped, overlooking the Indian Ocean to the west and the Bentota River to the north. If you are an architect, it is recommended to stay in a suite, because the other two guest rooms are newly built later. We talked to Bawa at the front desk, and the hotel employee Sanduri gave a forty-minute tour, telling us every detail, trying to number each brick and then rebuild it as it was. In short, everything was very touching.

We stayed in this hotel because of Dakabawa. Overall it was average. Although it was between the river and the sea, the environment was not satisfactory. The overall management was a bit chaotic and the service was not up to par.

This hotel has very comfortable rooms and common areas such as the lobby. I spent most of my time in the hotel. There's nothing in particular nearby, so I would especially recommend it for people who want to relax.

Great hotel. The service is top notch. There are a lot of guests, but you don't feel it at all, because the territory is well planned and quite large. The breakfasts are excellent, there is food for every taste: European, local and Chinese cuisine. Lots of fruits, juices.

The hotel is great, I recommend it~ Cinnamon Beach in Bentota, the work of Bawa, the father of Asian architecture, faces the lake on one side and the sea on the other. It is very, very large. The interior of the hotel is also worth a visit. I love the ceiling that you can see as soon as you enter the door. It is paved with traditional Sri Lankan batik cloth. It is super~~~beautiful

It's really a hard-to-describe experience. No wonder not many Chinese people stay here. The hotel belongs to a local chain hotel. Although it is rated 5 stars on Ctrip, the hotel walls are covered with tripadvisor sgs and other certifications, and it is a legacy designed by Bawa, but it is really disappointing after checking in. It happened to be a small peak when checking in. Several tour groups checked in at the same time, and the front desk seemed a bit busy. Fortunately, the passports and luggage were not messed up, and the room card was safely obtained. The hotel is a bit large, and the building where the front desk is located is really 5🌟. Bawa's skills were definitely epoch-making works 50 years ago. But as soon as you leave the main building of the hotel, it's like going to another hotel, and the sense of age hits you. Especially the lawn in the middle looks like a prison yard. The lawn is undecorated and bumpy. There are a few wild dogs wandering around. After entering the room, it's just okay, but compared with the main building, it's worth 3🌟 at most. But because it is very close to the sea, the ground on the second floor will also be damp for no reason. Although the hotel was renovated in 2019, the facilities in the room are also very illogical. There is only one empty power socket in the whole room, and the rest are plugged in lamps, kettles, TVs and other equipment. The switch of the ceiling light is very interesting. The switch on the left bed controls the light on the right bed. When I checked in, I also took my child to the children's playground, which is the kind of indoor children's playground in domestic shopping malls, but the maintenance inside is really not good. The most terrible thing is that no one cares even when the cover of the electric box is opened. If it were in the United States, it would have been sued for compensation. The food is not expensive, but the taste is not online. But to be honest, the waiters here are more local and down-to-earth, probably because most of the hotel guests are locals. There are less than 10 white and Asian people in the whole hotel who stay for breakfast. It is obviously different from anatara where I stayed before. There may be more European and American customers there, and the employees are used to tiptiptiptip for everything. Bentota is more sincere
