The front office team gave us a warm welcome and made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The housekeeping team maintained excellent cleanliness throughout our stay. A special thank you to our room attendant, Pradeep, for his excellent service and attention to detail. We also appreciate Sanjana from the front office for being very attentive, friendly, and helpful. Overall, everything was excellent. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend Thaala Bentota to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Thank you to the entire team for making our family vacation so special!"

Our rooms were very clean and spacious. It's absolutely worth for what you spend. The reception is very quick and responsive. Our check-in was very quick and smooth. "Not a four star hotel at all - closer to two. Management of the place is poor: our bedroom wasn't cleaned while we were there and no sign to hang up to request it to be cleaned. No bin in the room. No furniture on the balcony to sit out on. We had no water on the second day and had to be moved from our block. We were moved to a room where the security box was faulty and beeped throughout the night. The wifi kept cutting out. The worst thing though is the way they communicate - nothing about treatments when we arrived even though it is an ayurvedic resort and we had to ask what was available and then they quoted different prices for the same thing to my daughter and me. At night there is nobody on reception so you arrive to a ghost hotel and that's how we found we had no water, there was nobody to tell us as we came in we had to phone and eventually somebody answered to tell us. There are lots of people on reception in the morning and none seem too busy. It's got a strange feel to it - lighting in the corridors isn't strong enough and also the bricks in the paths are so loose in places that they actually dislodged when I walked over them. Given the cost and the fact they say they are a four star hotel, they need to seriously get some customer training in and improve all the things that guests expect from this sort of hotel. The positive aspect of this place were the porters who did seem to have to work hard."

"Most exhilarating experience. The hotel was very well kept and the staff was very cordial. All of them, including the f&b manager. They even arranged for a sumptuous breakfast on the potion of our room. The spears was amazing. There is train track between the hotel and the beach, which was very new to us and amusing. Just added to the charm. The beach was very quiet and beautiful. The people at reception were a little bit uptight but surely nothing that we indians cannot manage. Over all a memorable experience. Will surely comeback!"

"*A dreamy room with a perfect view!* We were extremely lucky to stay in this wonderful room/villa, located just 800 meters from the beach. A tuk-tuk ride to the beach was always available. It was truly the perfect place to escape from everyday life. The view of the river was simply enchanting and made the room a very special retreat. It has such a cozy, inviting atmosphere that we immediately felt at home. Everything was super clean and lovingly decorated. A delicious breakfast with freshly squeezed juice was served every morning. The proximity to the beach was another plus – simply wonderful! We truly enjoyed our stay and would return anytime. A real insider tip for anyone who loves peace, wellness, and nature. The Mahi Prabath family are wonderful hosts. Polite, helpful, and very close to your heart. Best regards, Claudia + Dierk Börner"

"We go with family, they gave us Villa and 3 rooms, not accomodated in the mail hotel building , this is infront of the mail hotel. Rooms had too many extra materials which makes room very conjested, like extra small bed, table etc. Rooms become very small with all this extra furniture. Many maquitos, Food very bad quality, nothing to eat for Vegeterian guys. We cancelled our booking for next day as it was niot possible to stay with un hygenic food."

"This hotel was the perfect stay for us for 2 weeks. My husband had a shoulder op before we arrived, so we needed somewhere that would be relaxing, near the beach, chilled out, and would be a safe place to be stress free. The Muse ticked every single box. The team here is phenomenal. They were on hand at all times, very attentive without being intrusive. Delicious breakfast served every morning by the fabulous Maheth on our patio area, he made sure we had everything we needed, even my own special milk. Every afternoon, we had stunning tea or coffee with homemade pastries, and their dinner menu was pure perfection. Our very comfortable room was VIP with the jacuzzi, which was my sanctuary. Whilst my husband rested, I lazed in there reading and let the stresses slip away. The beautiful clean beach is 2 mins walk, always a free sunbed & a member of the team who brings ice lollies. The room cleaners were on hand for everything, nothing is too much trouble here. The management and team are probably the best I have ever experienced one even entertained us with his dancing, thankyou The Muse, highly recommend to everyone "

"We had a pleasant stay at this beautiful hotel with a stunning surrounding and impressive historical architecture. The food was enjoyable, and the pool and outdoor areas were simply amazing. However, the rooms require significant attention. Cleanliness was below expectations, and many facilities need repair, ACs were not functioning properly, beds were old, and the TV did not work. The bathroom setup caused water to spill into the room while bathing, and overall, the rooms could benefit from extensive renovation. Additionally, while the staff service was acceptable, more training would improve the guest experience. Overall, the hotel has great potential due to its location, history, and structure, but the rooms need substantial maintenance to match the beauty of the surroundings."
