"Overall, the stay was quite pleasant, and the owner was very responsive. The view from the balcony was excellent. However, there are several issues I would like to highlight regarding my stay. Pros: There are several kopitiams nearby, and the food was quite delicious, such as Sri Nibong Cafe, Wo Lai Yeh Cafe, and Dhoby Ghaut Cafe. Cons: On the first night, I found a small cockroach hiding near the bed headboard. On the second day and again on the day of check-out, I encountered a rove beetle, which is considered a harmful insect as its toxin can cause skin irritation upon contact with human skin. I also noticed that the dustbin inside the toilet had not been fully cleared, as there was still rubbish left behind by the previous guest. Please ensure that hygiene standards and pest control measures are properly maintained for future guests. In addition, the water dispenser did not provide cold water and only had hot and warm water available, which was quite inconvenient."

"Didn't expect this to be a office building refurbished to be a SOHO place. The place is not very clean. A lot of hairs on the floor and furnishings (bed, pillows, curtains, shower facilities) are quite basic. The Aircon in the living room is extremely noisy. Also, maybe because it was the hari raya holidays, people in the neighbourhood were setting off fireworks until very late (1+am) at night. Together with the bright light coming into the room and the noisy Aircon, it is very difficult to sleep. I checked out after 1 night even though I booked for 2 nights to move to another location."

Upon arrival, the reception team kindly upgraded me to a Premier King room without any request, which was a wonderful surprise. The room was spacious, clean, well-maintained, and had a pleasant scent—everything was excellent. I would like to express my utmost appreciation to the midnight team on 21/03/2026. During our stay, my friend suddenly fell seriously ill during midnight . We attempted to call emergency services (999), but unfortunately were unable to get through to the nearby general hospital immediately. The situation was critical, and waiting another 10–20 minutes could have put my friend’s life at risk. Thankfully, the Penang Amari hotel team acted swiftly and professionally. They followed up with us, and the female manager along with the guy management team arrived promptly to assess the situation. They provided immediate support and helped arrange transportation to the nearest hospital, ensuring we arrived within 10 minutes. Thanks to their quick response and care, my friend’s life was saved. And even after check out they still texting us to concern on the guest safety. We are deeply grateful for their kindness, efficiency, and dedication during such a critical moment. Iron, ironing board, and hairdryer provided, as well as shampoo and body wash. The location is not ideal. Although surrounded by a few restaurants, there is a very limited choice for vegetarians and vegans. Also, the coffee offered in the apartment contains milk and sugar. Instead, I'd recommend having black coffee with separate sugar and creamer sachets."

"Booked this for a quiet stay before my flight. BIG MISTAKE!!! This hotel has zero soundproofing! The walls are paper thin and there is a gap around the door so every sound is heard. Plus the doors squeak when opening and slam when closing. To make matters worse, the guests staying on either side of me have no concept of hotel etiquette, going in and out of each other’s rooms, having the volume high on the TV and speaking and laughing loudly. I feel that this hotel attracts these type of guests. The receptionist wasnt helpful at all. She seemed annoyed with me but was helpful to the other guests. She gave off ****** vibes. Maybe she has a problem with white women travelling on their own? Regardless, this is not a place for a restful sleep!"
