Pros: Historic building, pleasant courtyard with an indoor pool. Ample toiletries provided in the bathroom, not just single items. Attentive staff for cleaning and delivering amenities. Cons: The staff don't seem to understand the concept of guest service. Breakfast waiters practically knock you over, trying to get past first. The person delivering luggage to the room told us, 'I'll go first, you take the next elevator.' 😂 Breakfast needs a special mention: Breakfast hours are until 9:30 AM, but in other hotels in Ho Chi Minh City where we stayed, breakfast was until at least 10:00 AM or 10:30 AM. However, the breakfast time isn't the only issue; waiters start clearing tables and milk pitchers at 9:00 AM, instead of serving guests. They focus on cleaning and clattering dishes, subtly hinting that breakfast is over. Furthermore, not once during our entire stay did anyone offer to bring/pour coffee. Cappuccinos and lattes are made by a separate barista; you can't make these drinks yourself from the coffee machine. There are no freshly squeezed juices. And what's unacceptable is the sour and overcooked vegetables – broccoli and cauliflower. It's surprising that the hotel management isn't monitoring the quality of their establishment; for comparison, look at the Pullman hotel. In the evening, the cleaning lady in the fitness center was making a lot of noise while cleaning the changing room, making it difficult to concentrate even with headphones on. Suggestions for the hotel: Train the staff on service and sort out the breakfast issues.

The entrance was very grand, and for this price, staying in a five-star hotel felt like amazing value for money. It's a bit far from District 1, the city center, but using Grab solved any transportation issues and made sightseeing easy. I was most looking forward to breakfast, and it didn't disappoint! The buffet was so luxurious and offered such a wide variety that I had trouble deciding what to eat. Unfortunately, I didn't get to visit the pool and rooftop bar this time. I could see the pool from my room, and everyone looked so happy swimming and relaxing – I just watched them from afar, wishing I could join. Next time I stay here, I definitely want to check them out!

Hello, I was the guest in room 206, checking in on June 30th. After resting for a bit, I went out around 3 PM. When I left, my suitcase was open, and inside were clothes and a GoPro camera, which was attached to a neck strap mount and not easy to remove. When I returned in the evening, I noticed the room had been tidied. The next morning, I checked out and left my luggage at the hotel. Around 6 PM that afternoon, I returned to pick up my luggage to go to the airport. During that time, I opened my suitcase once at the luggage storage area to put something in. I didn't use the GoPro at all during my two days and one night in Ho Chi Minh City, so I didn't pay close attention to it. Afterward, I flew directly to Hanoi, and at the hotel there, I discovered my GoPro was missing from my suitcase, with only the neck strap mount remaining. I contacted you to help me look for the camera, but you said it hadn't been seen. After returning home, I carefully replayed all the events in my mind, and it's only possible that it went missing at your hotel. I hope that after seeing this review, you can help me check the surveillance footage again and contact me.

Hotel Nikko Saigon — one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had My stay at Hotel Nikko Saigon was genuinely exceptional. I have stayed at other Nikko properties before, including Nikko Kansai Airport and Nikko Guam, and I can honestly say that Nikko Saigon exceeded both of them. In fact, the level of service was even better than what I experienced at my previous destination in Singapore, including at the Marriott hotel where I stayed. From the moment I arrived, I was incredibly impressed by the staff. The doormen and reception staff were waiting to greet guests at the entrance, and one of the staff members noticed my Japanese passport and kindly spoke to me in Japanese. She explained everything about the hotel and even helped carry my heavy backpack. These small details made me feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. One moment in particular made a very strong impression on me. I was travelling alone, and when my Grab driver suddenly started asking me for additional payment, claiming that he had “forgotten to add it through the app,” I was completely caught off guard. I had no cash with me because I thought I could manage a 22-hour layover entirely cashless. I wasn’t even sure what amount the driver was asking for in the end, but the hotel staff immediately stepped in. They scanned a QR code, checked something on the driver’s phone, and I asked whether he had paid or whether I could transfer the amount or add it to my hotel bill. The staff simply told me not to worry about it and handled the situation themselves. As a young woman travelling alone, I honestly don’t know what I would have done if I had arrived at a hotel where the staff had not intervened. The two doormen in particular made sure the situation was handled and that I was safely away from the car. I am incredibly grateful to them. The turn-down service was also absolutely outstanding. It was so seamless and thoughtful that it genuinely surprised me. The staff entered the room while I was away, and although I had left my belongings somewhat scattered around, they had taken such care with everything. They had even carefully flattened out the wrinkled receipts I had left on the table, cleared away my empty coffee cup, and left chocolates on the bed. It was an incredibly thoughtful touch. The only thing I would mention as a small concern is that I was not aware that the staff had entered my room while I was away. Since I had left some personal belongings scattered around, I would have appreciated being informed beforehand. That said, the care they took with the room and the little details more than demonstrated how attentive the staff were. Literally, this is one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. The combination of genuinely warm hospitality, attentiveness, and thoughtful service was outstanding. Hotel Nikko Saigon has set an extremely high standard for me, and I would happily return without hesitation.

Description is overselling this property a bit but all in all a good place to stay. Good space and design is nice though finish a bit worn. Balcony tub seemed interesting but when the view is a huge AC vent a few meters across the alley it wasn’t that inviting in the end. Anyway did not encounter any real problems during the stay and the staff was consistently good. Location is good, yet quiet at night. Check- in procedure was overly complicated and I get the idea with welcome drink and snack and someone coming to you with the paperwork as a kind of premium experience but I think its better saved for a resort than a city hotel. Did like the restaurant and breakfast spread is very good with both local and international options. All in all a good stay but in my personal opinion value for money was less good than some of the other properties in this area.

This hotel stay turned out to be even more pleasant than I expected. From the moment the bellboy proactively took my luggage when I got out of the car, to the efficient check-in process at the front desk, there was no unnecessary waiting. The staff's smiles were just right – not overly enthusiastic, but not aloof either. Upon entering the room, the first thing I noticed was how spotless it was. No dust on the surfaces or floor, and even the curtain seams were clean. The bed was soft yet supportive, and the toiletries were high quality with a refreshing, non-overpowering scent. Opening the floor-to-ceiling windows revealed an expansive city street view. In the evening, I enjoyed sitting by the window, feeling the breeze. A convenience store and coffee shop were just a two-minute walk away. The location was perfect – quiet yet central, making it convenient for getting around without being disturbed by the city's hustle and bustle. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but every item was exquisite. The freshly made noodles were perfectly al dente, and the freshly squeezed juice had no added sugar, which was exactly to my taste. Overall, while it doesn't boast exaggerated '网红' (internet-famous) design, it's full of thoughtful details. It's definitely a place I'd choose to stay again the next time I visit this city.

Pros: amazingly delicious buffet breakfast from western to asian cuisines. Delicious food and always fresh seasonal fruits. Menu changes daily. Their Triple Roomnis quiet spacious with bonggavillas on window sills. Room is cleaned and linens changed on a daily basis. Bar at the rooftop with jacuzzis and spa pool which added to the zen vibes. Lobby is dimly lighted but just enough to light the way which I think uphholds to its ZEN vibes. The location is superb. Next to it are spas for hair, nails, massage and 3 mins walk right through ben thanh market, saigon square, saigon center. 10 mins walk to Notre Dame Cathedral. Easy to catch Grab. Staff are all very friendly, helpful and communicates in English well. Cons: they don't have a swimming pool as what is advertised on its amenities. It's more like a spa pool where clients can sit, dip and maybe drink some coctails while watching the night lights and relaxing with the zen environment. However, the spa pool is perfect for my 8 yo nephew. He can play, swim on the pool without us worrying that the water might be deep for him. Bath tub is high so its not good for a short elderly client who got issues with mobility. My 78 yo mom got a hard time climbing in and out of the tub as its also slippery. We finally managed by letting her sit on th edge of the tub first before putting her foot in/out of the tub and putting towel on the floor of the tub while she's showering.

My colleague & I had to park ourselves near the ice skating ring to enjoy the cooling temperature at that area. It was challenging to kill 3-hr time before departure to the airport at the mall.

I was very disappointed with the attitude of the hotel staff during my stay. Several employees came across as arrogant and unhelpful, especially at the front desk. Instead of providing assistance, they often made me feel as if my questions and requests were an inconvenience. This is not the level of professionalism I expect from a hotel in this price range. I hope management will address this issue and provide better training in customer service and basic courtesy. Anyway, it should be last time I will visit this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at Rex Hotel and were very happy with our experience. The hotel is elegant, comfortable and very conveniently located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, making it easy to explore the surrounding attractions, restaurants and shopping areas. The staff were warm, professional and helpful throughout our stay. The room was clean, spacious and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt welcoming and relaxing. Rex Hotel has a special charm and character that sets it apart from many newer hotels. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly return on our next visit to Ho Chi Minh City. As a family on a budget, this hotel was affordable and comfortable and had all the amenities needed to suit our needs. Their outdoor garden playground was amazing. My son played on it when the weather was cooler. There is no indoor play area as pictured but can't complain as the service was great throughout. Catching a grab was easy too.

Overall, the hardware is excellent, but the front desk service needs improvement. My overall stay was actually quite good. The hotel lobby is spacious and beautiful, with a strong sense of design, and there are many comfortable seats, making the wait during check-in quite pleasant. The room was also satisfactory – clean, spacious, and equipped with a bathtub; the overall hardware facilities were excellent. The breakfast was the highlight. The breakfast area is on the top floor, where you can walk out onto the outdoor terrace to enjoy views of Ho Chi Minh City. The morning breeze was very refreshing. The food selection was incredibly diverse, including Vietnamese, Chinese, Western, Japanese, and Indian cuisines, offering such a wide variety it felt like a dinner buffet, just without seafood. One or two floors above the top floor, there’s also a large infinity pool, with a very relaxing environment. However, the pool is quite deep, reaching around shoulder height, so be mindful when using it. However, some unpleasant incidents occurred on the day of check-out. There's an electronic entertainment/game area on the 4th floor, and staff mentioned that each guest room receives a USD25 voucher. After I collected the voucher for my room, my friend was checking out of their room next to me. I reminded the front desk staff to give them their voucher, but the staff member seemed to ignore me and continued with the check-out process. Only afterwards did they say that since the room was already checked out, they couldn't issue the voucher. When I tried to explain further, the staff member became impatient and even slammed documents on the counter, making their colleagues a bit awkward. Ultimately, I had to escalate the issue to another manager, who then helped to cancel the original check-out process and re-issue the voucher to my friend. Additionally, for a hotel of this caliber, I had expected a welcome drink to be offered proactively, but it was self-service, requiring guests to fetch it themselves. I felt that the attention to service details could be better. In summary, the hotel's hardware, rooms, breakfast, and pool are all quite good, but the front desk's service attitude and how they handle guest inquiries still have room for improvement. The hardware is highly recommended, but the service experience didn't fully align with the hotel's positioning.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic! We had a booking through ***********, but for some reason, when we arrived, it showed as canceled, which was incredibly confusing, especially since it was already 2 AM. We were in a bind, unable to find another suitable hotel. Thankfully, the front desk attendant was incredibly helpful and enthusiastically assisted us in finding and contacting another hotel. We went there to check in. However, I still wanted to move back here the next day. The room here is wonderful, the mattress is super comfortable, and the decor is tasteful, clean, and tidy. I really loved it and would definitely stay again. A special thanks to that front desk attendant!

Stayed two nights from July 17-19 in room 302. The room size was decent, but there was a strange smell (like a group of people who hadn't washed their feet in three days had walked all over it). I suspect it was from the carpet in the room (photo attached). The bathroom drainage was slow, and the water pressure was insufficient. The overhead shower wasn't great. The worst part was the hairdryer; it was incredibly difficult to use. The prongs in the wall outlet were loose, and the round plug kept falling out because it was too heavy. Drying my hair felt like a test of patience; I had to resist getting angry. On the night of the 18th, the air conditioning seemed to be on strike; I couldn't feel any cool air. Luckily, I was only staying for two nights. As for breakfast... we're a bit picky, so we just found whatever we could to fill our stomachs.

A quaint and cosy hotel in a good location, walking distance to Saigon Centre, Saigon Square, Ben Thanh Market, Bookstreet and Vincom Centre. Room is spacious but can have more lighting. Sound proofing is not very good as we can hear an elderly couple quarreling on our 2nd night at a building rooftop near the hotel. Made a remark in my booking on our wedding anniversary and hotel made the effort to design the bed. There were issues with the aircon before we checked in and we were offered drinks on their 10th floor cafe (which served hi-tea for guest daily). Hotel breakfast spread is good, mix of local food and intercontinental breakfast. Overall good for the location and breakfast selection.

This is a hotel of contradictions. The facade is impressive. It's centrally located in District 1 near restaurants, shops and the Western quarter. The buffet breakfast selection is pleasing. The room size is generous. Staff are friendly and helpful. There's a forward thinking eco-friendly policy which clearly implemented throughout the hotel. However, the hotel is let down by some of its facilities. For example, in the bathroom a spa has been placed under a shower head so that when you shower the water runs down the wall and floods across the bathroom floor from one side to the other and in front of the hand basin. The hot and cold water taps turn on in opposite directions and the cold tap is not fitted properly which causes it to move. My children were unable to turn the shower on or off without adult help. The shower head is also too low and my 6 foot husband had to crouch down to shower. Another problem area is the rooftop pool area. The clear rooptop pool perimeter fence is woefully too low. I watched a child climb out of the pool to the ledge between the pool and the perimeter fence and I was very worried for his safety. One wrong slip or stumble and there's nothing stopping the child from toppling over the edge and 11 floors down. This hotel has a lot going for it but also has further room for improvement.

This place is hard to find even to some locals, and its especially hard for foreigners to come by for the first time. It's a newly building with security at the lobby, and there are shops and restaurants near by which is convenient. However; there is hardly a management of this property, we booked for 4days 3 nights and there were only 4 bottles in total and we had no respond when we required for more water bottles.(good thing is shops are close by.) Secondly, we also had no respond when we requied of house cleaning, we found and killed Cockroaches everyday. Last but not least, the third night of stay hot water running out, I had to take a cold shower. I don't mind taking cold showers in Vietnam's current weather, its just i didnt have an option of hot water makes this stay less worthy. There are also some pros of this property, the views are good, you get to see the landmark 81 building right outside the window, and some parts of river view. Besides the views, they use good quality bedding appliances (mattresses are great) and electrical appliances(dryer in your closet, you get to hang your wet clothes, sanitize and dry them). Overall, I would come back and live here if the management can starting to catch up.

This hotel is perfect for just lying around, relaxing, and doing absolutely nothing. We stayed in the Aqua Villa. The room was excellent – clean, beautiful, and comfortable. The private in-room pool had rather warm, even hot, mineral water. The downside was that over the week, the pool was only cleaned once, on the first day. A lot of leaves and flowers fall into the pool. Breakfasts were excellent. On weekdays, the hotel was almost empty. It only got busier on weekends. The grounds are very large and beautiful. Mineral pools, mud baths, etc., all cost extra! The only free amenities are the general pools (several of them) and the forest for walks. There's only one restaurant. There are no shops or anything else. You can't rent a motorbike anywhere. Grab, Maxim, and similar services don't operate here. You can only get to Binh Chau by taxi – 300,000 VND round trip. There's absolutely nothing to do in Binh Chau. And everyone stares at Russians like they're some exotic creature. Everyone wants to come up and say 'Hallow'. Conclusion: If you just want to relax in peace and quiet, do nothing, simply unwind and benefit from the mineral pools and mud baths, this is an excellent option! If you're looking for hustle and bustle with lots of restaurants, shops, and tourists – this is definitely not the place for you! It's an excellent option to just relax here for a week, and then head to Mui Ne (a 2-hour taxi ride).

The environment is great, with a wonderful atmosphere, clean and comfortable rooms, and a rich variety of food. The breakfast buffet is extensive and diverse; I recommend going early, as it fills up quickly. The infinity pool directly faces the beach and is absolutely stunning, truly refreshing! There's also a poolside bar where a martini really hits the spot! The rooms are decent, and it's understandable to find a few small insects given the natural surroundings – a minor point that doesn't detract from the overall experience. The spa is also quite good for a relaxing session. For dinner, we had Vietnamese cuisine. The portions were quite generous, almost too much to finish, with plenty of seafood options. The flavors were light and delicious. There's also animal feeding, which is very therapeutic. It was a bit sad to see the pigs looking a bit thin, and the 'pig dad' was hogging all the food from his 'wife and kids'!

One of the bedrooms in a two-bedroom apartment with double beds is fairly small. The sound distance is poor at night since we could hear the TV's light sound, which is inconvenient, and the water drainage is also pretty slow. Even yet, at this cost, a 1-night stay for a group of 3–4 people is still reasonable and commendable as it's well equipped with culinary equipment, a fridge, washing machine and balcony for drying the clothes. My third time at this hotel. Very convenient because of the location, the reception staff are very pleasant and happy to help you. The breakfast is very boring. Cheap ingredients. And the room is too small for the number of guests even though they added a room. Going down the stairs is not the most convenient. And the service lacks character, the cook does a great job and always fills in what is missing. You can see that he is professional and experienced. And he is also very friendly. But we took sandwiches for the long train ride and I must say that this was the biggest disappointment. Because I did not take a sandwich down to the kitchen for myself, because to get a sandwich from the dining room I am supposed to pay extra. Although only a few dollars, the principle is completely stupid. The sandwich I received was terrible, dry, boring, made from two slices of cheap bread, a kind of cheese leaf and a hard-boiled egg. Something really inedible. Bread that chokes you. I prefer nothing to this free nothing.

They assisted me with storing my luggage, which I really appreciated. As for the facilities, there is no proper gym. It’s essentially a hallway leading to the pool area, which was extremely hot even with the air conditioning running. In general, the common areas, including the lobby, did not seem adequately air-conditioned. Cleanliness could also be improved. The bathtub drained very slowly and was partially blocked, and the sink had similar issues. Overall, the property did not feel well maintained. Reliving old Nanyang dreams, I returned to Saigon, Vietnam. I originally came for the Park Hyatt but was deeply captivated by Mia Saigon. It was evening when I landed, and my night in Ho Chi Minh City began with a glass of prosecco. I chose the local brand Mia Saigon for my first hotel. Standing on the bar's terrace, watching the Saigon River break the city lights into a myriad of stars, I suddenly recalled the fifteen-year-old girl from Duras's novel – ”I've known you, and I'll remember you forever.” Mia Saigon is like a modern woman in an ao dai, bringing French elegance and Vietnamese warmth together under the same louvered window. I woke up to the scent of frangipani in the morning, with dew still clinging to the rattan lounge chairs by the pool. The staff here remember if you ordered a drip coffee or an iced latte yesterday, yet they are never overly attentive, much like the restrained gaze from under the man's felt hat in ”The Lover” – ”I love your ravaged face, more than your face when you were young.”

We stayed for six nights. Pros: - Excellent location in a tourist area, close to all amenities and shops. - Polite service with excellent English. - Daily towel changes, room cleaning, water, and toiletries. - Great cafe right outside on the ground floor. - Good breakfast from 7 to 10 AM, but the later you go, the less selection there is. - Air conditioning works perfectly. - Real plants with drip irrigation – very nice. - At first glance, a cozy room with a balcony. Cons: - Due to the plants on the balcony, tiny bugs constantly crawl around the room, bed, and bathroom. They are harmless, like specks of sand, but caused a slight discomfort. - The bathroom wasn't the cleanest due to humidity and old renovations. It was always cleaned, but it looked old and musty. - Not all drinks were refilled daily, contrary to what some reviews mentioned. Initially, there was beer, Pepsi, tea, and water. - Poor soundproofing; noises from the corridor and the neighboring room were audible. - And most importantly – street noise. A closed balcony didn't help; there was noise on the street until midnight and starting at 9 AM. Sports broadcasts, hawkers, construction from neighboring buildings – everything was audible, as if you were right on the street. Since our balcony faced the street, we experienced this; perhaps there are other room options with windows facing inwards. Overall, the hotel isn't bad for its price and genuinely tries to be good, but the longer we stayed, the more downsides we noticed. We wish them continued improvement!

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their warm hospitality and professionalism. The location is unbeatable, located right above Saigon centre in district 1. It was incredibly convenient to access shopping, dining, and many of Ho Chi Minh City’s key attractions, all within walking distance. The panoramic views of the city skyline from our suite were absolutely breathtaking, especially at night. Our apartment was very spacious and breakfast selection was outstanding. A truly wonderful and memorable stay for my family. The staff even presented a birthday cake to my son on his birthday. We will definitely be back!!

We were let down with another booking at the last minute and had to book the California Hotel as an emergency…we are very happy we did! Initially we were in a central room without a window and communicated that it was a little claustrophobic for us. The staff arranged for an immediate upgrade the following night. We were put on the top floor with a magical view of the Reunification Palace. It was perfect. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The location is so amazing for the city’s tourist attractions and market. The breakfast was very nice with fresh fruits, soups, eggs / omelettes and the usual cereals and meats. Coffee was also good. Will absolutely be coming back Thanks so much to the staff

A good hotel in its price range. We stayed for a few hours to rest before our flight. We were looking for the cheapest one near the airport. We were surprised to find working air conditioning, a TV with YouTube, a spacious room, and a window with a view. The only thing missing was bottled water.

Pham Ngu Lao Street Area Ho Chi Minh City|1.39km from city center
The location is great, right at the entrance of Bui Vien Walking Street. However, at night, you can hear the music from the bars, which might be a bit noisy for light sleepers. The room and overall environment are quite average, nothing too fancy but decent for a short stay.

I always come back to this location because it’s set in a quiet neighborhood of Ho Chi Minh but is also close to the center of the city and shopping. Clean rooms with full kitchen. Large refrigerator that makes ice, stove, rice cooker, stove ware and everything you need. Gym upstairs. Coffee shop right Nextdoor to work from. I’ve been traveling Vietnam for 22 years and stayed in many places. Broom has everything practical that I need that works for me and my wife with a great price.

Le Thanh Ton Ho Chi Minh City|0.85km from city center
The hotel is located within walking distance to Japan Town and about 15 minutes to Ben Thanh. There are pubs, restaurants, massage parlours and shops within the vicinity. Checking in and out was smooth with friendly staff. Bed was good albeit a bit soft but comfortable. Air conditioning good, water pressure strong and room was large. Breakfast was adequate with Vietnamese, Western and Japanese food. They also provide daily welcome drinks. Guests can obtain the voucher from the reception. Overall, it was a satisfactory stay and I shall return when I visit HCMC.

location is right outside bui vien walking street but its not noisy in the hotel. perfect if you want to stay near the area. a bit of a walk/journey to the other attractions like ben tanh market/saigon central post office but still good. AC was not very cold so it was kind of disappointing. there’s also no lift to the reception so you have to go down and up some stairs. otherwise, its an affordable stay and you get what you pay for.
