How to Get from Noi Bai Airport to Hanoi
Noi Bai International Airport is around 25 to 30 kilometers from central Hanoi. Travel time is usually 35 to 70 minutes, depending on traffic and your transport choice.

Airport Bus 86
Bus 86 is one of the easiest low-cost options between Noi Bai Airport and central Hanoi. It serves both airport terminals and ends at Hanoi Railway Station, with stops near central areas such as Hoan Kiem.
The official Noi Bai Airport transport page currently lists the fare at VND 50,000. Airport departures are listed from 7:00 AM to 10:15 PM.

Regular Airport Buses

Hanoi Metro
Hanoi has two operating metro services, but the network does not yet cover every tourist area. It is most useful for destinations west of the Old Quarter.
Both lines normally operate from 5:30 AM to 10:00 PM. On weekdays, trains run more frequently during the morning and evening rush hours. Hanoi Metro’s current timetable and the February 2026 schedule list service every six minutes during peak periods, with longer intervals later in the evening.
Metro Line 2A: Cat Linh to Yen Nghia
Line 2A has 12 elevated stations and connects central-western Hanoi with Ha Dong.

Overall, I liked the hotel, and the staff tried their best to make my stay comfortable. However, a few things spoiled the experience:
1) One of the two elevators was periodically shut down, and the other one wasn't properly maintained. We had to wait on our floor for a very long time on several occasions. Once, after a full day out in the heat, both elevators were out of service, and we had to wait about 10 minutes for them to be turned back on.
2) Bathroom: The towels were torn, and the toilet seat had some repair marks that looked like stains, which was quite unappealing. The bathtub was incredibly inconvenient; getting in and out required climbing over a rather wide edge with a sharp rim.
3) Breakfast: Nothing special, just a standard selection of items that weren't replenished very quickly (we had read reviews praising the breakfast as 'wow').

The hotel is perfectly located on the edge of Hanoi’s Old Quarter and very close to Train Street. From our room, we had a fantastic view of the railway and could watch the trains passing by from above, as well as all the excitement among the people waiting for them.
Many of Hanoi’s main sights are within walking distance, and for everything else, it is very easy to take a taxi.
The breakfast buffet is extensive, varied and leaves nothing to be desired. Enjoying breakfast with the beautiful panoramic view over Hanoi was a wonderful way to start the day. The Vietnamese coffee is also available to take away, which we really appreciated.
The entire team was incredibly friendly, helpful and solution-oriented, no matter whether we had a small question or needed help with something more complicated. They are exceptionally attentive and often seem to know what their guests need before they even have to ask.
The only minor downside is that the rooms are slightly noisy towards the hallway, especially when people are walking past or talking outside. However, this is really just a small detail and certainly complaining at a very high level.

I travelled with 3 other friends and opted for a connecting room — The rooms were spacious, clean and beds were comfortable. (It was 2 separate rooms but we shared one corridor that we could lock)
What made the trip even better was the service. We were warmly welcomed in with some drinks and snacks, borrowed umbrellas, all our requests were met.
The food was yummmmyy! Could choose from the buffet spread and the pho/eggs that was made upon order. Besides that, breakfast was made and packed for us when we had to leave early in the morning and couldn’t dine in. That was so sweet of them to do!

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights (from August 3 to 6). We really liked the hotel! Many thanks to the hotel staff! Especially to the young people who worked at the reception. We arrived on the first day at 12 at night and spontaneously decided to go on an excursion to Halong Bay. They helped us book everything. When we left, they loaded all the suitcases into the car. And the young man in a white shirt from the reception always smiled and answered questions.
We liked the breakfasts. There is a choice of dishes, everything was delicious. The waitresses smiled.
The room was clean. The room was the same as in the photo.
I also liked the location in the old city. We reached Lake Hakiem in about 12 minutes. On the excursion, they picked us up right from the hotel. And when we walked to the hotel, you could feel the flavor of the old city.

We chose this residence over a hotel for our wedding anniversary family trip, thinking it would be more comfortable, and it turned out to be a great choice. On our first day, we were tired, so it was nice to be able to simply cook dinner at the accommodation and then relax right away.
What was really disappointing was not getting a high floor or a lake view, which we had hoped for – perhaps because it was peak season. We ended up on the second floor, and it was quite a shock to be able to clearly see the vivid everyday life of our neighbors through the balcony window in the evenings. We had to keep the curtains closed for the entire duration of our stay. Aside from this, it was a satisfactory stay.
Our flight back was at midnight, and we wanted to add a half-day stay, but unfortunately, it was fully booked. However, the hotel was very accommodating: they allowed us to store our luggage at the counter, visit nearby restaurants, and use the pool in the afternoon. This was a huge advantage, as we could swim with the kids and shower before heading straight to the airport.
I've been to Hanoi many times, but this was my first time staying in the West Lake area. I really liked the more relaxed atmosphere of this neighborhood compared to other areas. It was great to rent a bicycle from the accommodation, go for a manicure, get a massage nearby, and take a stroll around West Lake.
The staff were all incredibly friendly, which I appreciated.
Of course, the alley leading to the residence was narrow, and the surrounding area was under constant construction, making entry and exit a bit challenging. However, since we mainly used Grab, it wasn't a major issue. The breakfast was simple and light, and daily cleaning and towel changes made our stay comfortable. The bedding was excellent, and I slept very well.
The indoor pool was spacious and not crowded, allowing us to enjoy it leisurely. The water didn't have a strong chemical smell, but it was slightly salty, which was a bit surprising at first but easy to get used to.FromDKK 522

I stayed at Golden Silk for 5 nights. 2 booked thru trip and 3 that I extended directly. The location is hard to beat. Bang in the center of old quarter steps away from Hoan Kiem Lake. The rooms are pretty tired as other people have noted. An upgrade may help but is not a deal breaker. Housekeeping is great. The pricing is a bit higher online but you can book directly and get a better price. The breakfast is okay, nothing great but whatever is available is pretty good. Restaurant staff is really great.

I'd been eyeing this hotel since last year, thinking I'd make a trip to Hanoi just for it. A week before my trip, I emailed the hotel to sort out some details, and the cake they made was exactly the flavor I requested – absolutely perfect.
When I arrived, it certainly didn't disappoint. Stepping into the hotel, I was immediately enveloped by Bill Bensley's maximalist, opera-house-inspired design. Check-in coincided perfectly with afternoon tea, so I picked out a few cakes, savory bites, and drinks (highly recommend the apple cucumber kombucha). Time just flew by until the evening jazz performance; listening to the elegant jazz music and enjoying unlimited special concoctions was pure bliss.
Dinner was at The Hudson Rooms on the top floor. I casually ordered a steak and an appetizer. The steak itself was a good cut, but it was a bit overcooked, so the server kindly offered me two complimentary desserts (both were delicious!). She also booked me a table at the mysterious speakeasy, Bar 61. Of course, getting in still required solving a riddle to find the key and unlock the door. There, I tried their exclusive whiskies and cocktails. I'd already lost count of how many drinks I'd had since walking into the hotel – this place truly is a paradise for dessert lovers and whiskey enthusiasts!
After drinks, I returned to my room to find the turndown service complete, and a hot, bubbly bath with rose petals already drawn. I put on the hotel's jazz playlist and soaked in the tub – it was incredibly comfortable. 🥰
After a restful night, I woke up the next day for the long-awaited breakfast. It was primarily à la carte. I tried their pho, which was incredibly fresh and sweet with a generous portion of beef. We were welcomed by amazing team of super friendly and nice staffs in the hotel. They are so nice to the extend that we feel so welcomed as this is our first time in Vietnam, especially Hanoi. Initially as we checked in to Diamond Westlake suites our first impression was that it was more a 3 star than a 4 star. The apartment and provisions are very basic. The apartment is a bit old and feels a bit tired. However, the space is good, and the pool very nice. The breakfast was fine with enough variety for different tastes. We also ate in the restaurant on our first night. It was a bit quiet so we were a little nervous but the food was absolutely delicious. A great introduction to vietnamese food. There is also a small shop immediately below the lobby area which is very convenient. We didn't have much interaction from staff, so hard to judge the service but I guess we didn't notice a particularly welcoming effort. Despite this we enjoyed our stay. It was convenient to travel to Hanoi, about 15minutes in the taxi, also a short walk away there are shops and restaurants. Overall everything is fine, a convenient place to stay for families and if you want to stay in a quieter area away from Hanoi. No major problems, but not really a 4 star quality feel. I wanted to express my gratitude for the exceptional service my family and I received during our six-day stay at the Intercontinental Hanoi Landmark72. My daughter was participating in a math competition, and we found the environment at the Lounge on the 71st floor to be peaceful and comfortable for her to study during the first two days.
For the remaining four days, we spent a lot of time at the Lounge and the 3spoons Restaurant on the 62nd floor, as my daughter preferred the hotel's food. I was amazed by the attentiveness and politeness of the staff, who took the time to introduce us to the restaurant's ambiance and cuisine.
One particular incident stood out to me when my daughter's favorite sushi was out of stock. The restaurant staff promptly prepared it for us and delivered it to our table, showing their dedication to serving every guest with care.

However they need to improve in service, there are few receptionists aren’t polite and seems lost when I ask them questions . When I check in, there’s only a lady to welcome me and I have to carry the luggages on my own to the room, zero service provided. And at first there are issue with the stove and the tv , I called the receptionist for help but I waited more than 30mins still no one came. I wonder if this is due to not near city centre so the service is not as good (?)

The hotel's location is fantastic, right by Hoan Kiem Lake.
The service during our stay was impeccable, from the bellhops handling our luggage to the front desk check-in process (you just sit in the waiting area, enjoy the welcome drinks, snacks, and dried fruit, while the staff brings your documents over to you for check-in. Tom, a lovely and enthusiastic young man, assisted us). The breakfast staff (it's a buffet plus made-to-order menu) were also excellent every day.
Everyone was proactive in recommending attractions, how to get there, and even the best times to see the train street.
The spa here is also excellent and offers great value for money; I highly recommend trying it. They use the same skincare brand as the St. Regis.
Oh, and definitely try the rooftop restaurant! The complimentary drink vouchers can be exchanged for fresh juice or two ginger ales, and the night view is stunning.FromDKK 452

I’ve been to Hanoi a few times and hotel service here is generally good, but Solaria truly stood out for us from the moment we stepped in, all the way to when we left and were warmly sent off by the porter. The level of service was impeccable. The hotel itself was excellent, cleanliness, welcome drinks, snacks, and overall comfort were all on point. Everything felt thoughtful and well taken care of.
A special shoutout to two wonderful staff members who made our stay even more memorable:
1. Daria: During breakfast, we asked about the special chili salt powder served with fruits (it was amazingly tasty!). Daria not only explained where we could get it from a local mart, but also thoughtfully packed some in a container for us to bring home. Funny enough, we loved it so much that we bought fresh mango that same night and finished everything immediately!
2. Lily (Reception): We would like to give our heartfelt compliments to her, who assisted us from our first day to the last. She brought us on a room tour, polite, friendly, and answered all our typical tourist questions with ease.
As we had requested a high floor, we were assigned one of the highest floors in the hotel. Lily thoughtfully informed us that the restaurant is located right above and operates until 10pm, so there might be slight noise until then. She checked if we were light sleepers and offered us the option to change to a lower floor for the remaining nights if it became an issue. The next morning at breakfast, she personally checked in with us again regarding the room, and it turned out to be perfectly fine for us, we didn’t notice much noise as we were still awake around that time.
Since this was our anniversary trip (which I had indicated in the hotel remarks), our room was beautifully decorated with towel-shaped swans and rose petals, a really lovely touch. The next morning at breakfast, after our meal, Lily came by and presented us with a specially made coconut pandan pudding dessert. She shared that it was prepared for us today as we seemed a little tired from traveling the day before.
During breakfast as well, Lily brought up about our request with housekeeping team for a firm pillow from the night before. Although we were initially told only one type was available, she took the initiative to explain and said she would try to source one for us. That very night, I received a firm pillow, truly thoughtful service. Lily also helped us plan our travel time to the airport, offered to assist with booking the hotel spa via her personal contact, and gave fantastic local food recommendations like cháo sườn with quẩy and rượu (sadly the shop was closed when we arrived, but it’s definitely on my list for my next trip to Hanoi).
What really stood out is how Lily picks up on small cues and chooses the right moment to communicate, making everything feel very natural and personalized rather than forced. There was even more she helped us with along the way, always attentive and proactive, which really made a difference to our stay.
To top it all off, during checkout, we were gifted local souvenirs, Trung Nguyen coffee drip filter and coffee powder, which was such a lovely and thoughtful gesture. Overall, an outstanding stay. Highly recommended, and we will definitely return on our next trip to Hanoi 🩷FromDKK 653
