Before arriving, I communicated with the duty manager, Eli, letting him know it was our first stay and that it coincided with our anniversary. Upon check-in, he immediately upgraded us to an Executive Floor room and had it specially decorated. The attention to detail was exceptional, and we were incredibly impressed from the moment we arrived.
The first impression upon entering was excellent. The lobby had incredibly high ceilings and a grand, bright decor, completely avoiding the oppressive feeling you sometimes get in older hotels.
The layout of the Executive Room was also quite interesting; it wasn't just a generic square box. The space was well-utilized, making it feel much more spacious than I had imagined.

I drove to Beijing, and since out-of-town cars can't enter the Second Ring Road, I chose this hotel on the Third Ring Road. It's a very old hotel; the room facilities are basically from the 1980s. The worst part was the bed – the kind where if one person turns over, the whole family gets woken up, which meant I didn't sleep well all night.
As for the service, it was very poor. Trip.com advertised free ice cream and a 15% discount, but neither was available when I arrived. The front desk said there was no ice cream because the weather was cold. The counter staff said I could have biscuits instead and that while the 15% discount wasn't available, a 5% discount was. However, when checking out, I was told it was full price, with the explanation that the discount was only for August. I then asked why it was still advertised as a free gift if it wasn't available, which was speechless. This issue delayed my trip by half an hour. Eventually, the lobby manager came and gave me a box of biscuits, and that was the end of it. I just want to say that if an activity isn't available, it shouldn't be advertised. Before booking, I read the negative reviews, which were mostly complaints about the service. After staying, I felt like this hotel was one giant obedience test.
Upon entering the room, I noticed a strong smell from the air conditioning ducts. I picked up the phone and dialed 'one touch.' The operator transferred me to the front desk, who said they would get back to me shortly. 'Shortly' meant I had to call again to get any kind of answer.
After changing rooms, the next day my room card stopped working. That's when I understood why there was a phone in the hallway. After calling, they said an auntie would come to help open the door. Ten minutes later, the auntie finally arrived. After opening the door, she said a concierge would bring a new room card later. Well, it never arrived within two hours. Eventually, when I went to pick up my takeout, I had to go to the front desk myself to get a new one.
The tissues in the room ran out. The auntie replaced them with new ones, but just left the new pack on top of the tissue box instead of putting them inside. I don't understand that.
There was a short black hair in the bathtub...
The mini-bar was completely empty on the first night, possibly due to the room change.

My family and I chose Jen Hotel for a quick getaway during the November holiday. This is one of the most value-for-money hotels I've ever stayed in. This time, I booked a room with executive lounge access, which included breakfast, in-room breakfast delivery, and a two-person dinner at Sanwu Tang in the evening.
We had a smooth check-in around 5 PM. The front desk staff asked us which direction we preferred for our room, and we chose one facing the 'Big Trousers' building (CCTV Headquarters). During check-in, the front desk also helped us book a dinner reservation at Sanwu Tang. After dropping off our luggage, we headed straight for dinner.
Sanwu Tang is a buffet restaurant specializing in Beijing cuisine, offering a complete selection of local delicacies like 'baodu' (tripe), 'luzhu' (stewed offal), 'chaogan' (stir-fried liver), 'douzhi' (fermented mung bean juice), 'zhajiangmian' (fried sauce noodles), and roast duck. Of course, they also have international dishes like beef, lamb chops, and salmon sashimi. If you're a first-time visitor to Beijing and don't want to wander around the streets, you can try all these dishes in one place. Wang Yajuan, a server at the restaurant, thoughtfully explained the food stations and brought us the exclusive drinks menu for executive lounge guests, which we greatly appreciated. (Regular paying guests also have drinks, but the variety is much smaller than for executive lounge guests). This drink menu included four types of craft beer and Evian sparkling water, which instantly made the value for money skyrocket. Plus, the restaurant was filled with Beijing cultural elements, making for a very comfortable atmosphere.
The breakfast on the second day was also in the style of Beijing snacks, which I loved, so I won't go into detail.
By the way, the online reviews for Sanwu Tang aren't very high, but I think those low-score reviews are unfair. Because Sanwu Tang's main focus is Beijing flavors, both the style and the food are authentic Beijing local dishes. Objectively speaking, some dishes might not be well-received by non-locals, leading to low scores. But if you like these flavors, trust me, go for it with your eyes closed – you definitely won't be disappointed.
I also want to mention the gym; it's the largest I've seen in any hotel I've stayed at, with the widest variety of equipment. No luxury hotel in China can compare. The staff also maintained the high service standards of a premium hotel.
In summary, this is a hotel with exceptional value for money. It's located in Beijing's Guomao area, and both the service and hardware facilities are outstanding. Highly recommended! 👍FromMYR 779

For a room at this price point, it's just average. Don't blame it on being in a scenic area either; Chimelong, also a scenic area, is more meticulous than this. First, there are no bathrobes, and the disposable toiletries don't have any Universal Studios theme. However, I should also mention the good points. The Universal Studios Grand Hotel allows four people to stay in a double bed room and provides toiletries for four. The breakfast spread is abundant with many varieties, and there are Minion characters available for photos, and the staff are very enthusiastic. Check-in is not until 4 PM on the day of arrival, but you can store your luggage first and go play. Early park admission (one hour before opening) only grants access to the Minions and Harry Potter areas; other areas open at 10 AM. It's best to get an electronic photo package, which allows staff to take pictures at all meet-and-greet spots and chance encounters. You'll end up with hundreds of photos by the end of the day, which is really worth it. The hotel's location is superb, situated between Zhengyi Road and Taijichang Street. It's within a 30-minute walk to Chang'an Avenue, Wangfujing, Qianmen, and Chongwenmen. Both the subway and bus stations are nearby. There are also restaurants like Songhelou, dumpling shops, and snack stalls in the vicinity. The wabi-sabi aesthetic often translates to very sparse furnishings: no comfortable sofas, no bedside tables, no bedside lamps, and certainly no central control panel for all lights and appliances. The tatami mat essentially means sleeping on the floor with a low table, making it very inconvenient and challenging to get up, sit down, or place and retrieve items, which clashes with Chinese living habits.
3. The private hot spring bath in the room only has one switch for hot water, making it impossible to adjust the temperature. Its size is also awkward; it's fine for one person, but feels cramped for two. For a room type designed for six people, such a small bath is quite inconvenient. Furthermore, the inner wall of the bath is made of solid wood, raising concerns about hygiene.
4. The smart toilet was broken and remained unrepaired even after reporting it.
5. The two bedrooms on the second floor, designed to accommodate at least four people, share a single small bathroom, which is a very impractical design.

The hotel, which opened in 1917, once enjoyed the reputation of being 'the first luxury hotel.' Many historical figures have stayed here, and it's steeped in a century of history. We stayed in the Grand Premium Chang'an Avenue View room, which had been recently renovated. At a spacious 60 square meters, it offered ample room and a fantastic view directly overlooking Chang'an Avenue. The front desk staff were very friendly; they helped us with our luggage to the room and explained how to use all the room's facilities one by one.
The hotel lobby had a wonderful ambiance with its high vaulted ceilings and magnificent crystal chandeliers, creating a vintage vibe that was perfect for photos. The facilities were comprehensive, and both the gym and heated pool were fully operational. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, and the hotpot (Shuan Yang Rou) at the hotel was also very good.

Parking: To get from the parking lot to the guest rooms, you need to go to the first floor and then transfer to another elevator. There are plenty of parking spaces. Just remember to register your license plate number at the front desk; I paid almost 200 yuan the first day because I forgot.
Service: Absolutely fantastic! We received welcome fruits, desserts, a card, and drinks. There was bottled water everywhere, unopened pens, and a whole toiletry bag of amenities. The disposable hotel slippers were exceptionally comfortable, which is a rare and pleasant surprise. Housekeeping was prompt but never intrusive. They even gave my daughter the room card as a souvenir.

The hotel is located in the Yintai Centre. If you are driving, pay close attention to the parking situation.
Parking: You can park in the Yintai Centre basement garage for 10 RMB/hour. New registrants get 1 hour free, and standard loyalty club members get another hour free with any purchase. However, there is no daily cap on parking fees here, so staying for a long time can get quite expensive.
The parking lot west of the Guomao Bridge is much more recommended. It's the closest option and offers better value. Rates are capped at 40 RMB from 6:30 to 20:30, and capped at 20 RMB from 20:30 to 6:30 the next morning, coming out to around 60 RMB for an overnight stay.
PS: Some recommend the Bridge of Gold (Jin Zhi Qiao) parking lot, but coming from Park Hyatt Beijing, you have to cross a major road and it's a longer walk. It's more suitable for guests staying at JEN Beijing or China World Summit Wing.
Service: Exceptionally high standard. From the front desk and butler to housekeeping and breakfast staff, everyone is attentive to guests. Hailey at the front desk handled our check-in thoroughly and attentively. After we checked out, we left an item behind, and the hotel even helped mail it back to us. The room was spotlessly clean. Although Park Hyatt Beijing has been open for quite a few years, the facilities are exceptionally well-maintained and feel very fresh. Special thanks to housekeeper Nie Guangxia; she thoughtfully replenished various amenities as needed and kept the water supply fully stocked. The seamless service between her and the butler greatly enhanced our stay.
Room: The bedding was comfortable, making for a great night's sleep. A minor drawback is the average soundproofing near the room door—you could hear people walking in the corridor while taking a shower, though it was quiet the rest of the time. Getting to the guest rooms from the lobby requires multiple elevator transfers, and at night, there are quite a few visitors coming just to take photos, which can cause a minor disturbance.
Breakfast: Served on the 66th floor, requiring an elevator transfer. The dining environment is pleasant. While the selection isn't overwhelmingly large, it offers an à la carte menu alongside the buffet. The food quality is consistently good without too many overly flashy items, so you won't get tired of it even after eating there for three consecutive days.

My stay at the Waldorf Astoria Beijing was absolutely perfect, earning a full five-star review! I experienced both the main building and the traditional courtyard rooms. The location is superb, right next to Wangfujing and within walking distance to the Forbidden City, making getting around incredibly convenient. The hotel's design is truly unique and thoughtful. The rooms are spacious and elegant, the bedding is soft and comfortable, and the amenities are high-quality and smell wonderful – every detail shows great care. Our butler, Willow, provided attentive and thoughtful service; she was warm, polite, and perfectly balanced, never being intrusive. The breakfast spread was extensive, featuring both authentic Beijing specialties and delicious Western options. The afternoon tea was beautiful and tasted just as good as it looked. When I went to Yanqing during the National Day holiday, I chose the City Garden Hotel. This hotel is definitely excellent value for money. It's very close to the main dining and shopping areas, and not far from various attractions. Parking in the courtyard is very convenient. The service, environment, dining, and facilities are all quite satisfactory, fully meeting the expected standards. Especially the service – the front desk staff and housekeeping staff were all very enthusiastic and accommodating. The front desk even gave us a welcome gift when we checked in, which was a very thoughtful touch. The rooms are large and very clean, fitting for a professional hotel with many guest rooms. The service is great, with ample check-in and check-out times.
