Hotel New Akao
4.4/5165 Reviews
I suppose the charm of Atami is that the whole area is a little bit 'dated' as far as a resort goes, and this hotel definitely aligns with that - it seems like a place that was once great and is now kind of just rolling along bringing in what money it can. The food is serviceable but totally uninspired - an upscale cafeteria masquerading as something better than it is with 'chefs' wearing their whites. The entire dining room constantly smells of fryer oil from the tempura - which they still make and keep stock of in such large quantities that it is never fresh and crispy anyways (especially the shrimp, which has not been sufficiently dried before battering). The remaining hot dishes are very disappointing both in terms of variety and overall flavor. The sushi and sashimi is the standout of the food, although it too is very basic - not anything that will blow your mind, but acceptably tasty and reasonably fresh (although on our second night everything tasted a bit soapy/bleachy). As a westerner you will be very disappointed by the breakfast, although that's a 'me' problem rather than a hotel problem per se. The spa facilities are nice but a bit dated - be careful in your selection of both time and location unless you want to be surrounded with many loud (mostly Chinese) children. Private spas are available and are quite nice, although again dated. Nonetheless at around 60 USD for an hour the price is good for the privacy, especially as a westerner who is otherwise subject to quite a bit of staring at this mostly local and Chinese spa. We stayed in a deluxe king room, which was spacious with an enormous and comfortable bed, and a (For japan) reasonably sized tub. Room and desk service was good. The hotel is a bit off the beaten path but has regular free shuttles to/from Atami station, which is where the main tourist streets for shopping etc can be found. Highly suggest checking out Golden Eye for some excellent Ramen.
Fujisan Mishima Tokyu Hotel
4.7/5267 Reviews
Hotel view was lit, especially when you can see Mt Fuji on a very good day. Location is very near to the Mishima station, the lobby is on the second floor of the building next to the Mishima station. You can get your Fuji express bus tickets just outside the station. Bus to the Gotemba outlet is also around the same area. Hotel cleanliness was good. However the reception was so so, as they did not provide further help when I seek for their assistance as I had left my backpack on the Shinkansen. The highest floor has an open bath for both women and male, requires a card to reach there. Hotel room provides the necessary towels in a basket for you to bring up and the toiletries are available as well. Would be a good view to see sunrise or sunset of Mt Fuji from the high level if there’s a chance. The room TV shows you the vacancy of the open bath and washing machine but it was not accurate for the open bath.
FUJI OUTLET HOT SPRING HOTEL
4.2/524 Reviews
We had a really great experience at this hotel. There is a shuttle bus near the hotel that takes you to and from the JR Gotemba station and the Gotemba Premium Outlets. The room is really big for a Japanese hotel, and you even have a jacuzzi/hot spring bath in your own room! As for breakfast, it is buffet style with a good selection. The food is also delicious! The best part of all is still the service they provide. At the Fuji Outlet Hot Spring Hotel, they really go out of the way to serve their guests. We had 2 suitcases stored in the hotel when we checked out and went shopping at the outlets. We went back to the hotel to pick up our suitcases at around 19:20 and intended to take a taxi to the JR Gotemba station to catch a train back to Tokyo station. The front desk staff helped us call a taxi but no taxi would take the order because there was a bad traffic jam. It was on 3rd January 2025, a public holiday, and there were many cars heading for the outlets. Upon knowing our dilemma, I think it was the hotel owner, instructed a staff who just got off duty to drive us to the station. He even checked the train schedule for us! They refused to accept when we offered payment for the ride. Overall, the service was superb and I will definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. They have front office staff who speaks either fluent English or Chinese. We wish to thank the owner and his staff for such great service and will definitely stay in this hotel again if we were back in Gotemba.
Atagawakan

thank you so much,...Trip.com for a reasonable price atagawakan hotel in izu peninzula. In front private beach, sky and sea view hot spring and luckily the fireworks in front of hotel aug.20,it's so fantastic. The hospitable of the staff, most of them are seniors...and the near attractions banana and alligator tour, there is a magical fruit there that when you eat this the lemon will become sweets,...and also the fabulous breakfast at room. But they don't served dinner, anyways there is an dining place around there...but need to walk uphill..everywhere there's a smoke of hotsprings.Want to come back here again next summer. The big wave of the beach are scary but there are so many so young and masculine lifeguards here, you can watch their rehearsal so early in the morning from veranda of the hotel together with the beautifull sunrise
Shimoda Tokyu Hotel

Very, very good hotel, the service is very considerate, the service staff are all elderly people, but the service is very enthusiastic and professional, and I feel the Japanese professional service spirit. The hotel is very comfortable to bathe, the beach is also beautiful, the restaurant food is delicious, I will definitely come again
Rakuten STAY Atami
4.5/575 Reviews
Very good experience, the check-in process is relatively simple. The room is very clean, the overall facilities look very new, the room faces the sea, with large floor-to-ceiling windows, you can see the Atami Bay from a distance when you get up, very comfortable. The beverage bar on the first floor will be replenished in time, and there are actually staff to help solve any problems. The bathhouse on B1 is not crowded, and it is also very clean. It is very comfortable to take a bath after a day of fun. There is a rooftop on the top floor where you can lie on the net bed to watch the stars. There is even a party room, children's books and office cubicles on the second floor, which is really thoughtful.
Seizan Yamato

This hotel is much better than the one I stayed in Hakone. The reception was warm and welcoming. We were given welcome refreshments as soon as we entered the door. Since we were watching the fireworks at night, they also pointed out where to watch them. Because of the earthquake warning, we were very nervous, but the store owner was very comforting and allowed us to stay longer at a low price. The overall feeling was very warm. The food was also very good.
Atami Korakuen Hotel

The hotel was great, wonderful service, good food, nice staff overall, however, Fuua spa was a bit disappoint with no extra towels to use. I would suggest to bring a bottle of drinking water or you would have to purchase. We stayed in the mountain side because it was cheaper but the ocean view would be great. You can see ropeway going up and down on the mountain side. Bus runs for free between the station and the hotel every 20 minutes or so. No reservation needed. It’s right in front of McDonalds at the station. Bus is not large. I would suggest to get there a bit early if you want to sit with your company together. You have a half off ropeway discount in the card you get at the check in counter so don’t throw it away after check out the hotel :)
Izu Imaihama Tokyu Hotel

Hotel is about 15 to 20 mins walk from Kawazu train station, no worries as they provide free shuttle service to and fro hotel and Kawazu station, however do take note of timetable. Room was big and view was fantastic as facing the sea, breakfast was sumptuous too especially the miso soup and raddish and beef stew. We came here for Sakura but in view of cold snap blooming season was delayed this year, Kawazu town can be boring as most shop including restaurant closed after 5pm. We were also told that there is no taxi available after 5pm. Overall stay was great including onsen, will definitely book again if I am back in Kawazu.
Rembrandt Premium Fuji Gotenba
4.5/5228 Reviews
Stayed at this hotel for one night just for the view of mt fuji, did not use too much of the amenities. Travelled to gotemba premium outlets but it’s a bit troublesome to get back to the hotel, quite difficult to get a taxi - had to go to jr gotemba station and took a while before we managed to get back. Location is a bit far out and very few trips for the free shuttle bus. The cleanliness of the room is just alright, a bit of mould but it’s okay.
