Wellington Central Business District
Hotel location is very good, in the center of Wellington, the parking lot is on the upper floor, to go up a steep slope, parking fee 15 NZ / day. The interior decoration is a bit antique and has a sense of history. The downside is that I arrived at the hotel on Christmas Eve, and the front desk was closed (should be at 7 pm), saying that I sent an email to me, but I didn't find it in fact. Still the cleaning guy, contacted me, opened the key box, and got the key.

Cannot recommend this place more highly. The cleanliness was so noticeable as one walked into the unit. There was a problem with the wifi that the proprietress immediately dealt with. I also left my electric toothbrush behind by mistake, Jodie made sure it was sent back to me and although I asked twice for the cost of returning so that I might reimburse she just ignored me and returned it to me.
Totara Lodge

Stayed for 3 nights the reception staff were lovely and helpful. Room had a lot of space which was good to put our newborns play-mat and bouncer. There was also a nice comfy sofa for feeding our baby. Big shower with amazing pressure! Handy to have the train across the road that heads straight into wellington and two pubs that sell delicious food a dairy and cafes close by.

Ctrip's first review of this hotel, the owner of the Chinese, the motel, can not be too much luxury, driving is very convenient, the price is not expensive, free parking, less than 3 kilometers from the most prosperous area of Wellington, the price is still quite high
Amble Inn Motel

This is one of the best motel I’ve stayed in. We are a family of 4 and found the room spacious and generous. Beds and pillows were comfy and clean. Small kitchenette in the room, for simple cooking. Toiletries replenished each day. There is laundry and dryer available, just see staff for assistance. Room is serviced very tidily and to a high standard each day, thanks to Anne, our room housekeeper. Resham the manager is helpful and goes the way out to help. Fantastic service. Good central location, near supermarkets. Very comfortable stay. Highly recommended!

We booked through the Flight Centre as we had vouchers to use up, we were terribly disappointed with the room 8. The photos online look good but….Travellers beware there is no reception, only a phone number. On arrival the fron glass door has a massive big crack in the glass from top to bottom. There is no heat pump/air con but two heaters were provided. Sadly these have been let go. I stayed here a few years ago when it was not part of the ‘U Studios Group’ and it was lovely. The toilet door has been removed, the bathroom basin cracked, the glass ware and crockery etc filthy and disgusting. We washed this first up but chose to eat dinner out and booked another motel for the next night even though we had already paid for two nights. The next morning we packed up and went out for breakfast too. The kitchen is so old and the place smells it to. Rodent traps very evident. There was no cover/sheet over the duvet but the sheets themselves were clean on a very uncomfortable bed. The light shade was mouldy, the blinds were useless, the curtains were strung over the door. There had been an attempt at a new paint job in places. All the rooms looked the same hence why we left early.

Its quite old. Ran by a Chinese family. While they tried their best to serve, the motel shows its age
Wallaceville Motor Lodge

We stayed 2 nights with family and the location, surroundings and service were amazing. The family studio is compact and with 3 adults you need to be family or close friends but the beds are comfy, there's all the supplies you'd expect in a hotel room with kitchenette and it was very clean and well maintained. The service on the phone and making our booking was great. There was a small hiccup when the ground floor room we requested wasn't available but we were offered a generous discount to compensate. The property is very central to Upper Hutt and surrounds and the main roads and yet is set in parklike surrounds with bush and trees behind, complete with a resident ruru/morepork. Highly recommended
Best Western Wellington

The team were friendly and approachable. The room was very comfortable - our room was not ready and we were very early, but they saw to it that it was ready within an hour. Spacious, Clean and roomy, Couldnt wish for anything better. Will certainly recommend and if in Wellington again would stay at Best Western.
Otaki Motel

The room is big enough, the facilities are complete, you can cook, microwave, refrigerator, oven, and the backyard is green grass. I feel that the proprietress is Filipino, very enthusiastic and diligent. The only fly in the ointment is that it is close to Highway 1 and the noise is louder.
