The boss intimately told me. If I go to Riyue Bay, I may have to charge on the road. I finally tried it. I went from the B&B to Shenzhou Peninsula to Shimei Bay to Riyue Bay. I finally returned. I went to the Shenzhou Peninsula Night Market at night. I can still return. There are still a lot of electricity. Because of the surfing that day, my hand was scraped by the deck. I asked the boss to find me band-aid. I didn’t have to worry about blistering on my feet. There was needle and thread. I rushed to Lingshui’s high-speed rail the next morning. This stay exceeded my expectations! The hotel's location is fantastic, right next to the subway station, making it incredibly convenient for shopping and dining. The front desk lady checked me in quickly and even recommended nearby restaurants. The room was incredibly clean, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and it was incredibly quiet at night, allowing for a deep sleep. The bathroom had plenty of hot water with just the right pressure, and the toiletries smelled fresh. The breakfast was varied, with both Chinese and Western options, and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. They even gave me a small gift upon check-out, which was so heartwarming! I recently stayed here as a Belgian Chinese traveler, and even though my Chinese isn’t very strong, I was welcomed with so much warmth. This hostel is a true hidden gem, tucked away from the typical tourist trails in a quiet part of the village. It’s the perfect location: right by the fields and some very trendy coffee shops, yet only a 5-minute scooter ride from the main bay and the best surf spots. The owners, Shuiku (水库) and Xiaoxiao (笑笑), really made my trip. Shuiku immediately helped me sort out a scooter and personally showed me where to find the best waves, while Xiaoxiao’s English is quite good, which made everything so much easier. They also pointed me toward some local restaurants that were all absolutely delicious. The vibe of the place is just great. It’s incredibly clean because the cleaning lady and Shuiku himself clean the place several times a day. I loved the design of the indoor chill-out area, though sitting outside to enjoy the tropical weather was just as good. There’s a washing machine which is super handy, and you can rent surfboards for a very fair, cheap price. Because the owners' friends drop by almost daily, there’s always a lively, authentic atmosphere. I met a great mix of foreign tourists and Chinese solo travelers trekking around the island by bike or motorcycle. Many Chinese couples and families where staying too, it is very kid-friendly too. I even ended up meeting a French girl there, and we spent a whole week surfing together. The hot water supply was stable, and the bathroom had a great wet/dry separation. The staff were warm and attentive, even recommending authentic local eateries in the town. It was a very relaxing stay for a vacation.

The sea view is unbeatable. Facilities and cleanliness are decent. Service is average, leaning towards self-service. Overall, it's worth 4.5 stars. **Ambiance:** This is the biggest highlight of the property. 👍🏻 The sea view is fantastic; sitting on the balcony enjoying the scenery is amazing. There's a supermarket nearby that sells fresh produce, about a 500-800 meter walk. While not far, it's not exactly close in the scorching heat. Luckily, delivery services can bring groceries within half an hour. There's also a convenience store in the complex that sells fresh coconuts, which takes care of daily hydration needs. **Cleanliness:** Generally very good. The bedding is clean, odorless, and comfortable. The only two minor issues were quite a few ants around the kitchen sink. Although small and not disgusting, they were annoying. Also, the washing machine didn't come with disinfectant, which was a slight turn-off. **Facilities:** Quite complete, especially the kitchenware, which is very comprehensive, even including knives and forks. However, condiments need to be purchased separately. Two out of the three bedrooms are excellent, easily accommodating two people each. One room is a bit small, and two people might find it a bit cramped. So, overall, I'd say it's perfectly comfortable for five people, and okay for six to seven. There's also a set of sand-digging tools for kids, which is a thoughtful touch. **Service:** Pretty much non-existent. There was only one pack of tissues in the whole place, and no mid-stay services like delivering more tissues or changing towels. However, we only stayed for two or three days, so it was sufficient. But if you have expectations for these services, remember to communicate with the host in advance.

If you're particular about cleanliness and the environment, be prepared for a stay here. The facilities aren't quite up to par with hotels, but if you want to play in the sand, see the ocean, and enjoy the breeze, it's fine. Considering the price, the room I stayed in wasn't worth it. The balcony door handle was broken, and the door wouldn't lock or close properly. A giant spider, with its legs spread wide, appeared in the bathroom. We had a thrilling fight, but luckily, I was quick and nimble, and I defeated it in under a minute! This is a rural area, so many people have dogs. There are several dogs and cats in the B&B. There's a yellow Chinese herdsman who's quite detached and keeps his distance from people. He won't let cats get close, and he'll chase them away. But there's also a black dog who frequently appears, and he has no sense of boundaries and pushes into the crowd. If your baby is afraid of dogs, beware.

The location was good, and everything else was fine. The only inconvenience was having to wait for someone from the guesthouse to guide us to our room. However, a really disappointing experience was discovering the price discrepancy. I booked on May 12th for 240 a night, but on May 22nd, the day of check-in, I saw the price had dropped to 187 a night. That 60 difference felt like a total rip-off, and to make matters worse, I couldn't even cancel the booking!
