"The hotel is beautifully located by the river; you can take a walk to the eastern gate of the park. The rooms are of a very high standard with super comfortable mattresses and a selection of various types of pillows - I slept wonderfully. Very good amenities, for example, a Dayson hair dryer and a special shoe dryer, which was very useful after a whole day of hiking in the mountains. The kind and helpful ladies at the reception booked tickets for us and helped plan our stay; they translated into Chinese for us when we had to arrange something outside the hotel. When I couldn't rent a power bank, an extremely nice lady lent me one using her Alipay account. I recommend this hotel."

This hotel was absolutely wonderful — and I’ve stayed in many hotels around the world, so I have plenty to compare it to. If I had to rate it on a scale from one to ten, I’d give it 11 points — no, wait — 12 points! The owner of the hotel is a very kind person who provided us with lots of useful information while we were exploring this beautiful region. I could turn to him with any request, and he was always ready to help. The hotel is beautifully furnished, with great attention to every little detail. If I come back to this area again, I will definitely stay here.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Ru Hotel in Wulingyuan to visit Zhangjiajie. This is really a home stay although it is called a Hotel in the name. The house is recently built and not just renovated. Everything is well thought out and there is even an elevator. The owner and hosts were extremely nice and helpful. The owner picked us up and dropped us off personally (we ended up renting another night directly with the hotel so we got a drop off, too). The breakfast was simple, but delicious and the iced coffee was very good. The room we got was really nice and comfortable and as you can see from the photos, had a beautiful view of the river and mountains in the background. The beds and bedding were really comfortable. A lot of hotels have rooms that smell like smoke even though they are supposed to be non-smoking, but these rooms had absolutely no smoke smell and smelled fresh. Our son enjoyed the Xiaodu TV, which had SVIP streaming services. We would definitely come back to stay here and highly recommend for others to stay here.

Both my friend and I agreed this is the best non chained hotel. First the owner, before our stay, she helped us identified the type of tickets we needed for the zhangjiajie national park and also purchased and booked the time for the parks. Next, upon reaching the hotel at 7am, the owner greeded us and offered us free breakfast and reminded our time for the park. After a long day exploring the park, we returned and checked in the hotel and again, we were astonished by the type of room the hotel offered. All finishings are 1st class and in excellent almost new conditions:: Dyson dryer, 3 shower heads options, electronic toilet seat, and the first class bed and took both of us less than 10 minutes to sleep and slept thru the whole night without waking up.

Excellent Stay!!
We had a wonderful experience at Zhangjiajie Ruyuan Homestay. The hosts were extremely friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The room was very clean, cozy, and hyper equipped, with everything we needed. The location is perfect — just a short walk or ride from the entrance of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park East Gate, making it easy to explore. The host also helped us arrange transportation and gave great local tips. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Wulingyuan or the park!
