"First of all, I want to give this hotel a bad review overall. We booked a castle king-size bed room. In the pictures on the Ctrip platform, there was a room with a bathtub. We were originally going to stay in the Loire area, but when we saw the bathtub, considering that there was a lot of walking in Paris and the children could rest in the hotel that day, I chose to drive an extra hour to stay in this hotel. But when we checked in, we found that it was not only a small attic room, but also had no bathtub. We communicated with the hotel through the Ctrip platform, and the reply was that the room was fully booked that day and there was no other room to change. This is obviously a wrong logic. Since it shows that the bathtub room can be booked, it should be arranged. With the excuse of full room, since the order has been confirmed, it means that our agreement has been established. As a result, a room type that does not meet our agreement was arranged on site. This is obviously not in line with the spirit of compliance with agreements advocated by Europe. This is a fraud. I want to give a thumbs up to Ctrip here. It has been insisting on helping us communicate with relevant agents and hotels, and finally reached a compensation agreement. But regrettably, something happened again. I found that the air conditioner in our room did not work. After repeated communication with the hotel, only one of the two air conditioner outlets could produce a weak wind. We had to open the window slightly to sleep, but there was a humming sound of the air conditioner outside the window, which caused us to fall asleep very late. The next morning, another blow hit. Because we fell asleep late the night before, the child did not wake up until 10:30 the next morning. The hotel reminded us when we checked in that the time for breakfast in the restaurant downstairs was 7-10 o'clock, and the breakfast service for the room could be delivered to 11 o'clock. We communicated with the hotel by phone at 10:45 and asked the restaurant to deliver breakfast to the room, but by 11:03, there was still no breakfast. Considering that we had to drive a long distance to Charles de Gaulle Airport to check in, we really didn't have time to argue with the hotel. We had to check out and leave hungry. The environment of the hotel is good. The so-called castle hotel is small, but the building is beautiful. There are forests and lotus ponds in the courtyard. There are small frogs on the lotus leaves. The restaurant is open. It is very comfortable to sit in the yard to eat and enjoy the scenery. The hotel also has a small swimming pool. The hardware is good and the environment is also very good. The facilities in the room are also very new, and the bathroom facilities are of good quality. The hotel is located halfway up the mountain in Tours, with the Loire River at the foot of the mountain and the old town of Tours at the foot of the mountain, about 3.5 kilometers away. Driving down the mountain, you can locate the Tours Church. After dusk, park your car in the parking lot between the church and the castle, which is free. There are various restaurants on the side streets, and there is also a Carrefour open until 10 pm. The restaurants on the street have French, Italian and Syrian cuisine. French cuisine is more complicated, and it is very troublesome if you don't know French. The price per person is about 20 euros. If you want to be safe, go for a simple Turkish kebab."

"Hello, I booked a room at the Hotel L'Univers for Valentine's Day. I came with my wife and then we made a reservation at the restaurant for a special Valentine's Day menu. We were asked to arrive before 9:30 p.m., which we did to get the menu that was intended for us, except that we arrived well before to be sure of having the special Valentine's Day menu. We arrived at 8:45 p.m. and we were told that it was too late and that there was no longer enough for everyone, so I am very disappointed. I express my disappointment. I say that I made the reservation a week in advance and that I was promised that we were entitled to a special Valentine's Day menu. After expressing our dissatisfaction several times, we were offered to make the menu that had been agreed but with a limited quantity. It is really a shame for such an establishment because the place is magnificent. The hotel with swimming pool, jacuzzi and hammam is wonderful but the catering is not up to the author of the establishment. Very disappointed. We reported the incident to the reception on the day of our departure and we were deducted €40 from the price of the special Valentine's Day menu but we would have preferred to pay the agreed price and be served correctly as agreed so it's a shame for such an establishment"

"A very nice little hotel apartment, very close to the train and bus stations. The receptionist was very attentive and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy, with all the basic amenities provided, and the tableware was also quite clean. Although it's near the tracks, it's not noisy, and the soundproofing is good. Note that the front desk is not open 24 hours; if you arrive after 8:30 PM, it's best to contact them in advance, otherwise you won't be allowed entry."

"Convenient location for our last leg of road trip. Location itself was within an industrial estate ( with Many restaurants and hotels close by) Interior clean and modern. Outside a little dated Restaurant states it is open mon-fri, but was closed on our arrival on a Friday Rooms are clean, but a little small. Double bed not much bigger than a single and the single bed was “roll over and fall out” Breakfast was decent with the normal selection of continental. Plus scrambled eggs and sausages Coffee euuuukkkk The staff were just the best, big smiles with a warm welcome. So pleasant and such a difference from the average norm."

"To put this stay into context we were on our way back from attending the Annecy Animation Festival so had had a week of sauna like living in an apartment without air conditioning and sleeping in 27 degree night temperatures. The sheer bliss of a cool hotel room was so amazing after a week of 38 degree C days. We arrived around 6pm after a 335 mile drive in our EV involving recharging en-route so being recommended the next door Hotel Mercure Restaurant on a Sunday night that we were told had vegan food options was very welcome as it involved just a 50 yard stroll. The meal was disappointing - overpriced with poor 'sniffy' service and a single vegan menu dish. The non-vegan menu items were pretty lacklustre and the desserts were woeful and way below what I would expect from any half decent French kitchen. AVOID the Mercure is my advice. The Ibis Budget is a good clean well appointed hotel if you just want an overnight stay while travelling. 7 miles from the city centre so if you want to be able to walk to the main tourist attractions in Tours you should book a city centre hotel."
