Dartmoor Halfway Inn Reviews

Wow! We stayed 2 nights, with 2 dinners and breakfasts, and our expectations were exceeded in every way. Staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, great food, super comfortable bed, excellent shower, and beautiful location. This was likely a 'once in a lifetime' trip but each of us hopes to back to the Dartmoor Halfway Inn at some point. Thank you Dave, Chloe, and the rest of the team for providing such a great experience - cheers!

We stayed here for one night in room 2 at rear of the inn. Rooms were excellent as was our evening meal. Service excellent including small bottle of Milk left at the door in the morning. Very nice ambience in the bar. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, would definitely recommend .

I have stayed here before but Dave and his excellent team make feel home from home the moment I walk through the door. The cuisine, accommodation and above all the ambience are all excellent. Looking forward to my next visit already. Many thanks and best wishes, Pul

Highly recommended! We went here to celebrate my Dads 80th Birthday and it couldn’t have been any better. That service was amazing and food fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for helping make this special occasion so brilliant!

Lovely comfortable room quite separate from the pub. Excellent choice of drinks in the room and fresh milk delivered in the morning. Our cooked breakfast was good but we were surprised that no cereals, yoghurts or fruit were offered.

November evening-Terrible lamb kofta- rock hard pitta bread and the dish had obviously been warmed up from last year!? Couldn't complain on the day as was a family member paying....shame as been here for lunch many times and often good!

So very disappointing after several good experiences here. We came for an early dinner after an afternoon at the races. It was very busy. Upon entering we noticed so many dogs - 2 even sitting in chairs and eating their food from the table! Never experienced that before. Disgusting! The smell of wet dogs was overpowering. We asked for a table at the back. Typical pub menu not very inspiring but we were hungry. Service was very slow. My burger and chips was okay and I managed to eat most of it. My sister's cod and chips was just batter with a small fish portion in between. My brother, a vegetarian, ordered the butternut squash curry and ate exactly 2 mouthfuls. Bland and tasteless and mostly spinach which he dislikes and was not mentioned on the menu. When I came to pay we did tell the young waitress that we were not happy but she just produced a card machine. Upon inserting my card she started to take both the machine and card away. I asked her what was happening as I do not allow my card out of my sight for obvious security reasons. Her reply was : ' I'm not going to steal your money'! Staff training evidently needed. We will not be coming back.

Wow, totally impressed Best pub roast ever, veg served separately, so unliked veg wasn’t all over my plate. Excellent choice of veg. Food outstanding, definitely be back if we are in area. Service good, friendly staff who smile and were very busy.

Absolutely fantastic accommodation in the teepee tent, well presented, very clean and facilities in great condition. We had a evening meal and breakfast was included, the food was amazing and friendly staff. Good vaule for money. Highly recommended!
