Guest User⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A unforgettable stay in Mauritius
Mauritius gave us emotions that we will always be carrying with us, but what made this really special holiday was the welcome and excellence of the hotel.
Elegant and well-treated rooms in every detail, a refined kitchen with local and international flavors, always smiled and available staff, card beaches and an atmosphere of absolute relaxation.
Every moment it was thought to make us feel cocktailed: from the unfair service to the experiences offered, everything has exceeded our expectations.
A place we would advise who wishes to live Mauritius with the greatest comfort, luxury and authenticity.
Thank you for making our trip simply perfect.

The kitchen can cook, super convenient, the butler's very intimate service gave us a detailed introduction to the suitable stay, there is a washing machine, swimming pool, there is a supermarket nearby, we all cook by ourselves, convenient and easy. It is close to the Casella Zoo and whale chasing dolphins.

Rats in restaurant
On arrival the hotel is really beautiful - a small oasis tucked away with gorgeous colonial style. The reception staff were really lovely and made us feel welcome.
The room was really nice - but there were a few things we noticed (which we let slide at the start) - massive dirty lipstick mark on one of our water glasses, filthy lampshades above the bathroom sinks, bed linen that didn’t feel particularly fresh and the robes as well had a slight greyish colour rather than bright white which they were meant to be. These were all minor things at the start which we didn’t even mention to each other but did notice.
We then had our first night at the cocktail bar where our drink was served by the lovely barman (very polite and smily) - as we were drinking we saw a huge rat run across the terrace - we decided it was an island and maybe this is normal (although we really weren’t happy about it). We then were dining within the restaurant and again a huge rat was running towards the table. For us, this is not ok. We asked to move tables as we saw a rat and the waiters barely acknowledged it - didn’t offer any apology and then proceeded to avoid our table for the rest of the night. We informed the manager the next day who assured us he was aware and the rat had been caught, and to “give it a chance”. We weren’t offered so much as a complimentary drink. After dining in the restaurant again the second night and again seeing a rat - for us it was time to check out. Not only is it unpleasant seeing rodents running around while eating but I would say it’s a hygiene issue and makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen and the safety of the food.
The only concession we were offered was to not pay for the remaining nights that we would not be staying for.
Really disappointing. On hindsight some things we would add about the whole experience:
- Not a 5 star in terms of food, service or cleanliness
- Staff really hit and miss - some very friendly some really rude and unhelpful
- Rooms didn’t feel clean
- Food was average - nothing felt fresh including breakfast
- Quite stingey with water - water not replaced within our room (had to ask for it)
We are now staying at a different hotel and haven’t seen one rat, so don’t think this is “just an island thing” as the manager stated. The service and food are also worlds apart which has really solidified that our review of 20 degres sud as completely justified - not a 5 star experience whatsoever.

The hotel was quite expensive, but good.
Except single employee a perfect service with high awareness.
Great sea view room.
Breakfast is a la cart, fresh meals with two choices pick from various options.
Snorkling and glass boat each once a day, other water activities while day 9am - 4pm.
Also, hotel not too big.
Restaurants (except hotel restaurant) a little far with 10 minutes driving to next town.

Guest UserA bit tired hotel, cold tiles on the floor in the rooms, nowhere to dry bathing suits. Good food, excellent restaurant. We had dinner in a Japanese restaurant, really liked it. Didn't like that random people were walking around the hotel, we didn't see any security, and if there was, they didn't pay attention to it. Strangers came up to the sun loungers, went inside, took a shower near the pool, probably could have gone into the restaurant, because there was no one at the entrance, no one asked anything. Once they brought us a bill written out for our room the day before, without a signature. We said that it wasn't our bill, they calmly removed it, probably not the first time.

匡It is definitely a paradise for food and food. For those who need to travel early every day, we have specially opened breakfast from 4:00-7:00, and the service is first class. If there is Chinese service, it is perfect.

Anantara is a very beautiful resort. Decor is top notch and comfortable. The staff provides excellent service and assistance is always available. The resort is a beach front property with a lot of activities. This property is amazing and you won’t go wrong by choosing it. Yusef , Cintia, Karim, Sharonne, Paul, and many more of the staff ( I’m bad with names) , will attend to all your needs.

11wx11The room facilities are relatively old, the Chopsticks restaurant is absolutely terrible, the service is satisfactory, the swimming pool is not bad, especially the adult swimming pool is very beautiful, the hotel is a good place to watch the sunrise!
