"My stay at Yawn Yard Kouri Island (Sea) was overall very pleasant. Each villa features a private swimming pool and an outdoor soaking tub, offering a serene and luxurious retreat. The in-room dining service was especially ideal for families with infants—like ours, with a 3-month-old baby boy. It allowed us to enjoy meals without worrying about sudden crying episodes disturbing other guests, as might happen in a public restaurant setting.
The dinner provided through in-room dining was exceptionally delicious and thoughtfully prepared. We truly enjoyed both breakfast and dinner in the villa’s outdoor courtyard, where we could take in stunning ocean views, sunsets, and even rainbows—a truly magical experience.
The bed was incredibly comfortable, adding to the overall sense of relaxation and making our stay even more memorable.
That said, it’s worth noting that the villa’s design leans toward an eco-lodge style. The bathroom is located at the rear of the house, requiring guests to walk through the outdoor courtyard each time they need to use it. This can be less convenient in the evening, especially when insects like spiders are more active. For this reason, the accommodation may not suit everyone."

Outstanding
AArthurThis is a great small homestay, with only five rooms in total. The atmosphere of the whole homestay is mainly pure white.
The room is very clean, and has its own private infinity pool, you can soak in the pool to enjoy the atmosphere of nature.
Hotel location in a relatively remote place, must drive to reach.
The restaurant itself has no service for meals, but the young owner will recommend nearby delicious breakfast, dinner.
Really to own experience, only to find it and other restaurants different.
AAnonymous UserFirst impression of the lobby is grand yet intimate. They escort you to a table and bring a welcome drink while checking you in. The rooms are large with a wonderful view. The rooms look just like the photos. Breakfasts are great, they make Eggs Benedict every morning. One day there was mango juice. Green smoothie every day. You can also get soba noodles cooked. You can even exchange breakfast for lunch at the hotel next door, and use their larger pools there. The room description mentioned a sea view, but on the third floor, a triangular roof slightly obstructs it, though the view is still incredible.
YYan ReevesWe had spent 4 nights at the hotel during the Golden Week which might have influenced the perception of service, but not dramatically.
Among the advantages of the hotel are: nice spacious rooms (ours had a stunning sea view); generally good location with beautiful nature and access to the beaches where you could actually swim (not a given on the island) - at least until the tide goes too low; reasonably good food across the restaurants with rather friendly prices; stylish bar with quality drinks.
Among the disadvantages are: very non-Japanese service (generally not very helpful, with low penetration of English among the staff) and lack of attention to detail that could make the resort actually very nice - again, not very typical case for Japan.
A few pieces of advice to the management:
1. Bring the option of in-room breakfast. If a guest is sick and can’t go down, it’s impossible to order in-room breakfast on the day, while rooms service opens at 11:30. Same frustration goes to the coffee stall downstairs that doesn’t serve coffee during earlier breakfast hours
2. Consider equipping rooms with coffee machines and contemporary electronics - low costs to take, yet massive disadvantage for the 5* status for not having them
3. Pay more attention to room service: we spent 48h without shampoo and shower gel. Our glasses were washed occasionally. New bottles of drinking water arrived only once.
4. Fix the beach! The amenities there look like a poor community beach area, especially those shameful umbrellas. You have reasonable amenities at the pool - why not spreading them to the beach areas to make them feel more like a resort rather than public beaches that no one gave any care?
5. Gym and SPA amenities could use a bit of refreshment. I won’t mention SPA service itself which might be a result of poor luck with the specific technician
6. Empty mini bar equals lost revenue. You could easily cover the modifications above through adding more options for people to enjoy drinks at their balconies.
What makes staying in Japan truly special - genuine care and attention to every detail - was completely missing over our stay at this Hyatt. In fact, we consistently had that feeling “this could actually be really nice” and then something would go terribly wrong with the awkward service. The hotel that looks like 5* on pictures leaves a 3* aftertaste at max. I am only writing this because I felt it didn’t have to - those are easy aspects to fix.
WWENLIMHad the pleasure of staying at this property for four nights and was impressed by the overall quality of the experience. The hotel’s central location in Onna Okinawa is an advantage, providing easy access to shopping, dining, and cultural attractions. It serves as an excellent base for leisure travelers if you self drive.
The room was spacious, modern, and thoughtfully equipped with a kitchen and washing machine, making it particularly convenient for longer stays. The layout was comfortable and functional, offering both relaxation and practicality.
Breakfast was a highlight of the stay. The buffet spread was wide. The system of collecting a queue number before lining up was efficient and ensured a smooth dining experience.
Evenings were made memorable by the hotel’s stunning sunset views. Watching the sky transition into vibrant hues from the property was a truly special experience that added to the charm of the stay.
Overall, the hotel delivered on all fronts: location, comfort, amenities, and atmosphere. I would not hesitate to return and will certainly choose this property again on my next visit to Okinawa.
GGuest UserOn his birthday, I used it last year and this year. The view, rooms, staff and service were all very good. For lunch, I had a light lunch with the hotel's private beer and spent a relaxing time. I was happy to have red wine at cocktail time this year. The dinner was also great. The attentiveness of the staff is very good. I want to go again next year.
Yyenling_moFrom the room to the amenities, the view, the service, and the breakfast, everything was incredibly satisfying!
Upon arrival, our luggage was immediately carried to our room, even though there wasn't an elevator. The staff provided delicious cocktails and beautifully presented plates. After each person filled out their information, a dedicated staff member came to explain the hotel's amenities.
There was a free drink bar and lounge chairs by the pool for stargazing!
The room layout was exactly as pictured, and all food and drinks in the room were complimentary.
We arrived late for dinner, so we bought something from a nearby convenience store. The staff heated up our food and provided plenty of tableware for us to enjoy. The service was truly excellent! After a satisfying meal and rest, we enjoyed a relaxing bath and a sound sleep. Waking up to the beautiful view completely made the morning pain go away! I felt so refreshed!
Breakfast was also a delight, especially the view and service. Someone in the family had a birthday, and perhaps they noticed it when we were filling out the information, so they took the initiative to celebrate and gave us a fruit plate as cake during breakfast! It was a pleasant surprise and a delight.
The building next door has a swimming pool, a small jacuzzi, and a small cold spring. The changing rooms, toilets, and showers were clean and air-conditioned, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself there. It's a shame I didn't have enough time to enjoy the bar and other amenities.
This is a luxury hotel I'd love to visit again! Even if it means driving off the beaten path, it's worth it!

Great
GGuest UserTaking bus number 120 from the airport and getting off at Atsuta Station is very convenient; the hotel is right there.
The hotel is very new, with aesthetically pleasing decor, and the pillows were excellent. The French cuisine at the hotel was delicious, featuring innovative dishes designed by the chef that were both exquisite and surprising; even the tableware was like works of art.
The service completely exceeded expectations; the staff remembered guests' preferences, making us feel very attentive.
Overall, I was very satisfied with the experience and will definitely come back next time!
HHsinTangThe hotel's swimming pool has indoor and outdoor sections, as well as a waterslide for babies. The indoor pool has a bed against the wall, making it safe and comfortable for young children to sleep. Importantly, there are also educational and fun activities nearby. I highly recommend bringing children to participate in these activities. Parking is available, but sometimes a shuttle service is required to get the car. I really loved the lobby's décor. Also, being able to continue playing in the pool after check-out is fantastic.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is great, big brands really do stand out. The breakfast was also very good. All facilities within the hotel require an additional charge, but the service was excellent. The room was quite spacious too. Overall, it was a good stay, and I'd book here again.
