I’ve booked Low Wood Bay a few times but this was the first time using trip.com - we got an excellent deal and the customer service was brilliant from both trip.com and Low Wood Bay. There had been heavy snowfall so things were a bit up in the air with whether we would be coming or not due to road closures but the staff were brilliant. Thankfully we did get to come for the night and we’d booked the spa the following day. It is one of the best spas I have been to. The views are stunning. The hotel itself is really lovely, fantastic location, extremely clean and all the staff were super friendly. Will definitely be coming to stay again and can’t recommend enough for a relaxing break.
Set in 17 acres of landscaped grounds and on the shores of picturesque Lake Windermere Storrs Hall hotel offers a tranquil and secluded haven. This stunning Grade II listed Georgian property is made up of the original 1790s mansion which now houses the hotel s reception and dining room plus two large wings later added in the 1800s and designed by one of the greatest visionary architects of that era Joseph Gandy. Inside the hotel retains much of its Georgian splendour including the grand rotunda entrance hall adorned with a balustrade first floor gallery and dome all created by Gandy. The hotel s Tower Bar provides a story whilst serving drinks as its solid oak bar with intricate plate glass decoration was rescued from the famous Blackpool Tower. Accommodation consists of 30 en-suite bedrooms all sumptuously furnished and with works of art and antiques many have lake views. A luxury Boathouse which sits in its own grounds with a hot tub on the terrace provides a wonderful opportunity for a romantic escape. An idyllic wedding venue with the lake providing a perfect backdrop for photographs whilst the Georgian interior decor creates a romantic ambiance indoors. The hotel has a dedicated wedding co-ordinator and holds a civil licence for a number of rooms with the elegant Drawing Room being the most popular. And for the ultimate exclusivity hire the whole hotel for 1 or 2 nights. The hotel has a private jetty and also its own National Trust owned folly called The Temple of the Heroes projecting out into the lake. Free onsite car parking available.

The hotel is in a classical building, a typical grand mansion of British aristocrats. As soon as you enter the door, you can feel the old-fashioned atmosphere, whether it is the decoration or the smell (carpet). The hotel has a great view, the garden covers a large area, and is located on a small peninsula by the lake, so there are lake views on both sides. The hotel has two restaurants, lake edge is more formal (also where breakfast is served), and there is a small restaurant with modern decoration. The dishes are very good, the portions are also quite large, and it is super value. The hotel does not have an elevator. The luggage attendant will help deliver it to the room, but you have to be mentally prepared to climb the stairs every day. Fortunately, it is not high. British hotels do not put toothbrushes and razors in the room. You need to ask for them at the front desk, but this is the only one that needs to pay for toothbrushes separately, 2.5 pounds a pair. It is three kilometers away from the center of Windermere. There is only one bus line 6 to get there, but the frequency is very rare, basically every two hours. You can either walk or take a taxi to get in and out. Overall, I am satisfied. It is also a luxury hotel ranked among the top in the Lake District, but it has a strong sense of age.

The stay experience was beyond my expectation. The room was not big, but it was comfortable and clean. The most surprising thing was the English breakfast set provided on the second day. I could quietly bask in the sun in front of the floor-to-ceiling window and slowly enjoy the English breakfast tea. It felt like time slowed down.

The location and hygiene of this hotel is okay, except that the carpets don't seem to have been cleaned for a long time.
I was most dissatisfied with a male waiter, his attitude was particularly bad, I suspect he was a ******, his attitude was really bad, I have stayed in so many places in the world in hotels and B&Bs, this male waiter's attitude was the worst, I entered the staff area is my fault, but I entered from the restaurant, there is no staff only to enter the prompts, the male waiter kicked me out like a dog, I felt I was insulted. The waiter shooed me out like a dog, I felt insulted, it seems that the quality of the British people really needs to be improved.

Very recommended hotel, thanks to the warm reception of the hosts and women, the breakfast was great. Homemade cakes are unforgettable.
Room: The bedroom suite on the second floor, the room is small, the layout is very warm, and the view outside the window is very good. Every day, hygiene will be taken care of and consumables will be replenished, but slippers and other supplies will not be provided. The water in the shower room in the room is not very hot, which is hoped to be improved.
Location: More than 10 minutes walk from the station, up and downhill. It is about 10 minutes from the main bus in the Lake District. It is also about 10 minutes from the center of Windermere. The location is very quiet and quite good.
Breakfast: Very delicious, English standard breakfast, yogurt juice coffee bread, full British breakfast, and various cakes and pies made by the store. It is the most recommended place in this store, and I like the craftsmanship of the host and hostess.

This house was built in 1850. This house can be checked in through a password. The bed is soft and comfortable, the room is very warm, and the hot water is sufficient. It is a little bit far from the railway station, but very close to the lake. A good trip experience!

Amazing
Rrockylee1. The location of the hotel is very good. It takes only 10 minutes to walk to the cruise ship terminal. There are many restaurants nearby and the accommodation is very convenient. The room is large and there is a living room, unexpected, but the living room side is on the bedside, next to the street, sooner or later, some noisy, especially the UK speed is generally faster, pay attention to it. Breakfast is prepared in advance bread yogurt cereal milk, some in the refrigerator, some in the locker, do not have too much expectations.
2. If you come by car, you will need a parking card with the front desk, which costs £3 a day. There are unlimited parking. There are several places to park. It is actually very convenient. When you leave, you can go to the parking lot to drive first, and put the key and parking card at the front desk when you come back.
GGuest UserThe bathroom facilities are superb! ! The water flow is very large, easy to adjust, and there are two nozzles, one is lower and the other is higher. The bathtub is very clean
The owner is nice, the breakfast is so-so (smoky products are too salty, please don’t try) there is a bus stop next to it, there is also a very large sainsbury convenience store, it is very convenient to buy ice cream and so on
GGlynMy wife and I stayed at Burn How for 4 nights. Immediately we found the staff most welcoming and friendly. The pleasant atmosphere was maintained at breakfast throughout our stay. The spacious room- with everything you might need- was part of a block of chalets set romantically amongst some beautiful trees. If we return to Bowness we will look no further than Burn How for accommodation.

SSanqicaqianggongjiangThe landlady will greet you very warmly and explain to you how to open and close the door and the breakfast time. The room is also very quiet and not in the downtown area. It is a two-minute walk from the library station, and the 599 bus from the station to the hotel is just two stops away. The hotel room is also relatively large, and the bathroom water temperature is sufficient. Apart from the soft mattress, there are no other faults. like
GGuest UserThe scenery around the hotel is very beautiful, right by the lake. It takes three minutes to walk to Peter Rabbit World and 10 minutes to walk to the cruise ship terminal. It is highly recommended.
AAnonymous UserThe environment is excellent. It is the most beautiful among the small towns. The hotel is also quite historic. However, the service of the restaurant is really different from one waiter to another. I don't know if it is for Chinese people or what. There was a blonde who was very unpleasant in terms of attitude and ordering. Some were very nice.
董董The owner of the Scotsman is very cautious, and the house price is conscience in the Lake District. It is very convenient to park the door and park all day. The rooms are very small but the old wooden houses are like this. Although the rooms are not soundproof, the guests are very quiet and conscious of the weekends in the UK. The stairs were very narrow and almost staggered, but the boss was very enthusiastic to help take another box. Some people complain that the hot water temperature is not good enough to put it in the eco gear position. The energy-saving faucet is really too small. The local tyrants who are accustomed to the big bathroom must not be too narrow. The shampoo on the ground is sloppy. When a farmhouse mentality is just fine, in fact, many hotel standards in the UK are too far from the domestic price. Half of the price is not as good as the standard of a small county. The breakfast is very good, the owner is doing it himself, the authentic English breakfast is full, the ingredients are very good. It is a little worry that the sauce is not the standard original vial.
GGuest UserThe Macdonald Old England Hotel is well situated, being just a stones throw from the lakeside and the shops in Bowness.
The staff are friendly and obliging and the service matches their attitude.
The breakfasts are fine, although the staff can sometimes be a bit slow in replenishing the tureens.
We did not use the Spa, so we cannot comment on that.
Overall, we found the hotel to have all the facilities that we were lookling for and we would be happy to stay there again.
GGuest UserGreat hotel, clean and comfortable! The towel rack in the bathroom is heated, very comfortable. Self-service check-in, the room code will be sent to the email on the day of check-in. The whole hotel is quiet, the parking lot is sufficient, and the two-bedroom we booked is very suitable for a family of three.
GGuest UserThe Windermere Hydro Hotel is located in the center of the Lake District. The hotel is very nice, on a slope, the rooms are very clean, the breakfast is very rich, and the free parking lot is particularly recommended, which provides very convenient conditions for self-driving people
