Ppeter nutbrownThis accommodation was excellent. for us.It was situated in a tiny village with only one local pub, which was ideal for us. Cambridge is only 10miles away.
The host was very friendly and welcoming. The Lodge was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. A nice touch was a plate of fairy cakes and a jar of cookies to welcome you. There was also a jug of milk in the fridge. The bed was sublime. Extremely soft and comfortable. I normally only manage 3-4 hours sleep daily, but on our two night stay i slept right through both nights. Breakfast was a full English delivered to our door, and it was delicious. I can't recommend this place and it's host highly enough. If I'm visiting the area again Thorn House will definitely be my first choice.
CChriseeBAn excellent hotel in Cambridge. Easy short walk to the city, lovely room which was very clean. Great Air Con, coffee and tea facilities in the room.
Breakfast was excellent.
GGuest UserMy stay at this hotel was very disappointing. The air conditioning was not working, the paint in the room was peeling, and there was visible rust on the door hinges, which made the space feel poorly maintained.
The most frustrating issue was the smoke detector going off with false alarms several times, including in the early morning. When I tried calling the front desk for assistance, no one answered, which added to the inconvenience.
Overall, this experience did not meet the standard I expect from Holiday Inn. I hope the management takes steps to address these maintenance and service issues for future guests.
GGuest UserGood stay. The pool area is quite small and not the cleanest so wouldn’t give it 5 star. Handy that the lockers were free and free towels provided. Would’ve liked a dressing gown. Room service was quick, hot, and tasty. Customer service was lovely but quite slow on reception. I would definitely stay again!
GGuest UserThe prime location is the most appealing about this hotel. The room was comfortable and contained all the necessities required. Pleasant stay. Unfortunately on a Saturday at 7am there was an accidental fire alarm but non of the reception staff seemed to know how to inform guests that it was an ‘accident’ so many guests were left wondering where to go and if it was real and it caused a lot of confusion.

AANNBreakfast is average, it is normal, nothing special. The room is too small, and it is rare to live in such a small room at this price. There is a chair in the room, and it is necessary to find a waiter to give another chair. From the picture posted on the door, we stayed in the smallest room in the whole hotel. Really unhappy.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is unbeatable, within walking distance of all of Cambridge's major attractions. It's right across the street from Saver and Sansbury supermarkets, very convenient, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The room has a microwave, refrigerator, and basic cutlery; you can even reheat takeout orders – great! The hotel's private glass-domed garden restaurant is fantastic. The service was excellent; any issues were resolved promptly, especially with Chris, who patiently addressed my problems – thank you so much. My only complaint is that Ctrip didn't communicate well with the hotel. Both Ctrip and the hotel charged me, resulting in double billing. I had to make overseas calls for ages to resolve the issue, and it's still unresolved. This has happened twice now, and Ctrip's management and problem-solving abilities are extremely disappointing. Their attitude was arrogant and perfunctory when problems arose.

DDaryl (Teo)Kalpana and Habiba are really helpful and made my stay so good! This was actually the 3rd time I have stayed at Hotel du Vin and every single time the both of them showed great knowledge of the hotel, facilities and even the city!
Strongly recommend the hotel and the service staff!!
