Posted onJan 15, 2026|Classic Twin Room Without Window
Guest UserThe air conditioning was a bit tricky; it kept blowing cold air at first. It took a while following the instructions to finally get it to blow hot air. I guess most three-star hotels are similar. There were hairs on the sheets, and the room was small because it had no window. However, the location is excellent, very close to the train station, bus stop, and city center. It's fine for a night or two.

Guest UserI arrived pretty late in the evening but the check-in steps were smooth though.
The room is sufficient for one person and the bed sheet and pillow cover was clean. However, the sofa has little stain on it which should be cleaned properly. The bathroom is a bit small. I barely can turn when I show. There is no bottle water provided when I arrived late and a bit thirsty... A bit shocked with a fan (which was on when I entered the room) by the bed for ventilation purpose.
Th breakfast is a bit disappointed... the smashed egg was not up to standard...the hash brow was not crispy at all...the mixed berries are as cold as ice and the sausage and bacon were too salty... (in a cold weather I woke up) the food choices were so little... I think provide a banana or yogurt would be much better than the soft hash brown and icy mix berries...

Minimeet2233Great location, super close to city centre and very convenient. Staff members are always helpful and super friendly. On my final night there was a storm in Scotland and staff was super helpful with trying to see if they can book me for one extra night just in case if trains don’t run the next day :) really happy with the service. Breakfast has good selection!
Room is okay, the AC seemed a bit old and broken but still works, temperature in the room is fine!

Hampton by Hilton, Glasgow Central is located on West Campbell Street and this truly is right in the heart of the city centre!
Located just around the corner from the bustling shopping street of Sauchiehall Street, you’ve got everything you need at your disposal within walking distance of this hotel! Even Glasgow’s Central station is just a short 10 minute walk away - ideal if you’re coming in from another such as Liverpool like I was!
A double room in this hotel is a fair size. To maximise on the space, Hampton by Hilton have removed wardrobes and cupboards and have replaced them with walk-in spaces. It works - the L shaped room can feel a little cosy at first, but once you’ve passed through the corridor, the main area where the bed and TV is feels quite spacious.
The breakfast provided - which is free for all guests - is to a great standard. Make sure you try out the fresh waffles which come as standard in Hampton by Hilton hotels. The breakfast area isn’t huge though, so if you come around 8.30/9am, space might be limited!
There’s also a fitness suite in the hotel which has a good range of equipment available. No windows in there though!
Some areas for improvement - the room could do with a bit of refurbishment as the furniture is looking quite tired in parts and there are a lot of scratches and dirty marks on the walls. The room is very functional rather than a luxurious stay. Having said that, Hampton by Hilton is not marketing itself as a luxury brand. It’s firmly in the budget hotel bracket, probably at a similar standard to Premier Inn - which certainly isn’t a bad thing!
Another thing to note - if you stay here during the weekend, it could be noisy. There are three nightclubs right near the hotel and on a Saturday night, the noise didn’t stop until 2.30am and this meant we didn’t get much sleep one night. However, the staff were very helpful when we flagged it with them the next morning and gave a credit for a free night’s stay at any Hampton by Hilton!
All in all, this hotel is a good base to stay whilst exploring Glasgow. It’s functional, it does the job and you’re going to be well fed during breakfast. True, there are areas for improvement, but this shouldn’t impact your overall experience too much!

Anonymous UserThere is no kitchen for use available. Also for drinking water you have to request the staff. This should be easily accessible for all in the building i believe. Secondly the waiting area is open for shorter durations only. Along with storage no lock will be provided should be mentioned before handby the website. Without lock the storage is of absolutely no use.

Guest UserThe location is super convenient, close to two train stations. Central Station is less than a 10-minute walk, and Queen Street Station is a bit further, about a 12-minute walk. The subway entrance is just a few steps from the hotel.
We booked a family room, and it was nice and quiet, perfect for a good rest. The windows don't open, but there's a note saying the air conditioning can keep fresh air circulating. We didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on that.
My only complaint is the bathroom sink. Whenever we used it, a foul smell would come up from the drain. Also, the water pressure was very low, and you couldn't adjust it – it was like a tiny little showerhead, which made washing your face a real chore. The hand soap dispenser was fixed to the wall and looked quite old; there were obvious stains on the bottle from not being cleaned. I have no idea how often the soap inside is changed; perhaps they just top it off when it looks low, leaving the old soap at the bottom.
Despite the bathroom issue, I would still consider booking with this brand again in the future.

Great location. Stayed here before. Staff are friendly but it's really let down in other areas.
Our room was filthy. Bed was fresh but the desk was sticky, carpet looked like it hadn't been hoovered in weeks and when I went to plug in my phone beside the bed there was the remains of someone's peperami snack lying on the floor.
Bathroom had a brown poo mark on the loo seat (which we cleaned!) And the loo floor was covered in long black hairs. I am platinum blonde and my friend has long dyed red hair... We told reception who offered to comp us breakfast but we had already paid for it so they just took the feedback.
We asked for an iron and ironing board, and they were really pitiful appliances. They could do with an upgrade for sure.
Oh and during breakfast the coffee machine was fully broken and was being taken apart...
