Nice location, really close to the beach. The cabin is very cute and spacious. Owner was very nice and greeted me outside as I pulled in. Breakfast was delicious.

The food, the room and the hospitality were all great, and I was able to stay with my wife for two nights to completely get rid of my usual fatigue. The friendly wife also gave me a lot of valuable information about Shimoda. This ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) is run by an elderly couple. It felt like staying at a relative's house, full of warmth. The food was truly delicious. Each dish was prepared with such care, and meal times were pure bliss. Even for breakfast, we had turban shell mixed rice. They thought of everything; since the portions were large, they even provided plastic wrap for us to take leftovers if we couldn't finish it all. The variety and freshness of the fruit served at breakfast were incredible; I wondered how many different kinds there were! It was a truly impressive stay. When we left, they gave us a processed photo taken during our meal and homemade lotion prepared by the wife as gifts. This is a wonderful ryokan that I would confidently recommend to everyone, but since the couple is elderly and can't overexert themselves, guests should try to make things easier for them, perhaps by tidying up after themselves. I definitely want to visit again someday.
