"When I made a reservation, there was a lot of difference between the exterior photo and the real exterior, but I thought it was an old country house, so it was understandable. After check-in, I was assigned a spacious room, but the interior looked neat and the tatami mats looked new, but the hair and dust on the floor seemed almost unclean. I cleaned it myself.
The dinner was delicious and the hot spring bath was small.
The next day, breakfast was well prepared and luggage was kept until the time of use of Hyotan Onsen."

"This is a trip to Japan after 6 years. I did not choose the lively Honshu cities, but chose Kitakyushu, arranged a two-day trip to Beppu, and booked this unknown hot spring hotel.
An unexpected accommodation experience, the front desk おばさん actually speaks English, help to book the time of the private soup when you check in, very good しい! The environment and facilities of the hotel are very clean and hygienic. Even if you travel alone, it is very friendly. The single room is also very spacious. It is also equipped with a massage chair. After soaking in the private soup, a massage is really quite good.
Booking a hot spring hotel must book one berth and two meals at the same time. The set meal experience for the morning and night is also quite good. Although there is no big fish and meat for dinner, there are also a lot of content as kaiseki cuisine, and it is very delicious, no dish is stepped on thunder. Breakfast is also a set meal. Although eating rice early in the morning is not in line with the Chinese food habits, the rice is delicious. Even my CD-ROM, which never eats breakfast, is not easy!
Remember, in the future, to travel to small places in Japan, there is no need to squeeze those tour groups or social software recommended net red hotels, sometimes small luck and surprises are obtained in such an unknown small hotel!"

The only point is the location will be a little bit far for travellers without cars, as hotel is on a hill slope, you will need to spend some efforts to go up, but the hotel quality worths this effort."

"This type room is big & very comfortable for 2 persons with big luggages, the room is very clean but we need to made bed by ourselves. Staff is very nice and can suggest the good recommendations for nearby onsen and good restaurants around there. The common space and kitchen room is also good, they are provide many type of drinking with ice for us.
This hotel is located very close to beach, Beppu tower and ‘Don Quijote’. Love it.
If you have plan to go to Beppu, it is very good choice ! Recommended!!"

"The hotel is a group of small villas. Although it is in the city, there are rice fields in front of the door. There is a private hot spring and sauna room downstairs, indoors and outdoors. Upstairs is a double bed and two tatami beds. The tatami beds need to be made by yourself, and someone will put them away in the morning. The cleaning time is 11:00-15:00. According to the front desk, it takes several people to prepare for such a long time, so the hygiene is very good, and all bedding is changed every day. The only drawback is that the hotel does not provide meals and does not have a washing and drying machine. There is a microwave in the room, so it is convenient to buy food in advance and heat it up. To wash clothes, you need to go to coin laundry 200 meters away. It is a great hotel and I will go there again if I have the chance. The front desk is very good. I ask them to help call a car and book a restaurant every day."

"Hotel location is about 7 minutes walk from Beppu, two floors across the road, close to the sea, Japanese-style tatami mattress space is relatively large, with TV, the front desk owner is very warm, said to be 16:00 When we went in advance, we checked in, microwave ovens, refrigerators, toilets, several small separate baths, and said that we would use a few bottles in advance. The boss also sent a bottle of beer at night, and it was OK."

"The building is old, but it is clean and the receptionist was friendly. It is close to the station and we were able to use the hot spring nearby, so we had a pleasant stay.

Oonlywinxit's a small homey inn, amazing for cat lovers. you get to spend 1h in a room full of super friendly cats. their homemade breakfast and dinner is delicious and very filling - you even get to eat next to another room of cats!
the only downside is the location, which is 1 short train station (comes every 40mins) away from beppu station. it's a bit in the residential area, and the walk from higashibeppu station can get a bit quiet and dark, but overall still a great place to stay!

GGuest UserThe people working here are so nice! I was able to drop my luggage off early before check-in which was sooo appreciated. It’s in a quiet little neighborhood close to the train station. It seems like a lot of the attractions are in Kannawa though which was a 30 minute bus ride away. The rooms were straightforward- one bathroom in the room, not as modern but clean. They provide slippers for your room, and there are privacy curtains around the bed. There’s a kitchen downstairs available to use.

It was an 8-person dormitory.
It had bunk beds.
I slept on the first floor for three nights.
The wooden beds creaked and creaked whenever I moved.
The beds next to me also made noises when I moved.
I woke up too often during my sleep.
This was a major drawback.
The kitchen and lounge were convenient to use.
The bathrooms were clean.
The sauna had showers. The hot sauna facilities were nice.
The staff were friendly.
It's convenient to travel from Beppu Station to Oita and Yufuin.
The Beppu Ropeway is convenient.
The beach is just a 10-minute walk away, offering stunning ocean views.

SSusanne ThielThis accommodation is primarily practical. It's all you need and the parking is right in front of the door.
What unfortunately did not like was the quality of mattresses. You feel every pearl. Also the sofa was old and uncomfortable. In the bathroom, there was no haak to hang towels.
It is a rebuilt store. When you open the windows forcing, everyone who passes through the street can look directly in. Airs only go if you leave the door up front.
For 2 nights OK if you're otherwise on the way.

GGuest UserThere are two affiliated hotels within walking distance, and you can enter the hot springs for free. The hot spring at Hotel Hayashi is small, but it is a good hot spring with a slight greenish color. It is an old hotel, so the facilities are average, but there is a kettle and microwave near the front desk, and parking is free. If you understand the oldness of the hotel, it is a convenient hotel in front of the station.

MMils CandyskinsThe staff are friendly and helpful. I was allowed to leave my luggage upon check out and still explore Beppu. The team even assisted me with taking my luggage to the front door.
Rooms are clean and equipped with a hairdryer, kettle and fridge.
There is a microwave near reception and there is laundry and dryer however you need to pay.
Please note, there is no lift, only stairs to the reception from the main road however the staff helped me carry my bag.
Location is a few minutes walk to Beppu station and buses therefor easy to get around.
Thank you for a pleasant stay! I will stay again when I return to Beppu!
