GGuest UserThis hotel was truly the highlight of my trip to Japan. Nestled on the hillside, the views from the window are breathtaking, especially from the infinity pool where you can overlook most of Beppu. It gives you a sense of serene detachment from the urban clamor, as if you're uniquely clear-headed amidst a busy world. During our stay, there were occasional showers, and after the rain, the mountains would often become shrouded in mist, making the landscape incredibly dynamic – sometimes clear and picturesque, other times beautifully hazy and ethereal.
The hotel's hot springs (onsen) are another major feature. The male and female baths are separate, ensuring privacy, and each has its own outdoor bath. What's more, the male and female sections switch over daily, so if you stay two nights, you get to experience both unique bath areas. The hotel also provides guests with traditional Japanese yukata robes and geta (wooden clogs).
Regarding transportation, since the hotel is on a hillside, they offer a shuttle bus. However, it's small with limited seating, so reservations are essential. What's fantastic is that if you can't reserve a spot, the hotel *provides a taxi free of charge*. Let me emphasize that: free, free, free! So, the only potential inconvenience of staying here is perfectly addressed.
While the standard breakfast selection is decent, they also have a 'hidden menu' – definitely ask for it!

EEIJIROMy girlfriend and I recently stayed here. The hotel boasted a serene atmosphere and impeccable cleanliness. The staff were incredibly courteous and attentive, making our stay truly comfortable. The onsen water was gentle on the skin and perfectly eased our travel fatigue. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast in a dining area with a splendid view. My girlfriend was extremely pleased as well, and it became a cherished memory for us. It was such a wonderful hotel that we'd definitely love to visit again.

GGuest UserOne of thebest hotels I stayed at in Japan so far - close to the station, the are a bunch of cafes around. Convenient for thr bus to go to hells of beppu. There is an onsen in the hotel - open from 3pm to 9am btw, so you can chill in a bath at any time at night which is so cool.
Plus they have a free breakfast (personally didn't make it cuz it's till 9 am with last order at 8.40 which is too early for me) and a free drink bar every evening.
Would definitely stay again! No notes!

Oonlywinxit's a small homey inn, amazing for cat lovers. you get to spend 1h in a room full of super friendly cats. their homemade breakfast and dinner is delicious and very filling - you even get to eat next to another room of cats!
the only downside is the location, which is 1 short train station (comes every 40mins) away from beppu station. it's a bit in the residential area, and the walk from higashibeppu station can get a bit quiet and dark, but overall still a great place to stay!

location: it's relatively further from the station , around a 8-10min walk. there is a 7-11 just around the corner
room: my room came without a bathroom but for the ladies are 3 cubicles shared among the 7 mix gendered guests on the floor. i did not have to wait in line at all. there was more than enough space in the room to open my suitcase wide and still feel comfortable. bed and pillow was a bit hard though, and you can hear anyone talking loudly downstairs outside the building as the room is on 2nd floor, tho that doesnt happen very often.
food: amazing balanced breakfast that changes everyday - really delicious!
onsen: the one on 2F was smaller than 1F, but very good and comfortable. clean too. you can book a private onsen room for 500yen (50mins)
staff: all of them were super friendly, helpful and made me feel welcome. there are english-proficient staff available 24H as well :)

One of the highlights was the ability to reserve a private bath, which made the experience even more relaxing. The breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere was peaceful and calm, making it an ideal place to rest and unwind.
The location is also convenient—just a 7-10 minute taxi ride from Beppu Station. I highly recommend this Ryokan to anyone looking for an authentic and relaxing stay in Beppu!

GGuest UserThe entryway is very spacious, and the room itself is surprisingly large, even bigger than it appears in the photos. The sea view is beautiful, and soaking in the hot spring at night felt just like having a private onsen. There's a bus stop right outside, with direct service to Chinoike Jigoku (Blood Pond Hell). Beppu Kitahama is right next door, and Don Quijote is just a short walk further. While it's a bit of a walk from Beppu Station, staying right by the sea often means sacrificing a little bit of convenience.

CCtayThis hotel is very convenient if you are taking bus from Hakata Bus Terminal. It stopped right in front of the hotel. Inside the hotel, it has tourist information counter where tourists can buy bus pass etc. Room and toilet are small and is common in Japan, but they are clean and stay is comfortable.They have 1 indoor and outdoor onsen. Opposite the hotel is a departmental store and is 10 mins walk to Beppu train station. Beppu tower is just a short distance walk from hotel. If you are taking a bus to Yifuin, bus stop 1 is just nearby, opposite direction of hotel. I will recommend this hotel if you are coming to Beppu.
