I recommend the hotel managers have a preventative conversation with the staff about how even a refusal can be handled in a way that will leave guests with a good experience. For now, I'll give the service a 2. We didn't even check in after such an unfriendly reception, even though we had a non-refundable reservation. Therefore, the hotel doesn't live up to its stated star rating."
