"The room is located in the center of Deqin County, not far from the snow mountain viewing platform, making it perfect for getting up early to watch the sunrise over the golden snow-capped mountains. The room is very well heated, with underfloor heating, electric heating, and electric blankets. The owner is very welcoming. The house has a shared kitchen where you can cook. It also has a large courtyard where you can easily see a sky full of stars at night. However, the room facilities are somewhat old, there are cobwebs on the lights, and small flying insects can easily fly in if you leave the lights on and open the door at night."

"This was truly a moving stay! We checked in during Chinese New Year, and because of a flight delay, we didn't arrive until after midnight. The owner came out in the middle of the night to help us with our luggage, turned on the oxygen machine for us, and even brought us instant noodles – absolutely thoughtful! What was even more touching was when they later found out we wanted to go to the observation deck the night before to secure a parking spot. They proactively offered to pick us up, knowing that walking would involve an uphill climb and be quite tiring. My goodness, they offered to pick us up! Even though it was only a 5-minute walk, with the altitude and the climb, the owner's thoughtfulness was incredible and brought tears to my eyes. Getting back to the point, the hotel's location is excellent. The rooftop terrace goes without saying, and the interior of the guesthouse is also absolutely amazing. I've attached photos – perfect for those 'once-in-a-lifetime' shots!"
"The room was spacious, bright, clean, and tidy, with comfortable bedding. The 24-hour hot water and separate wet and dry areas were fantastic. The hotel thoughtfully provided local seasonal fruits and snacks in the lobby for guests to help themselves. It was my first time trying Naxi apples, and they were delicious! The sunlight streaming into the hotel restaurant and kitchen made breakfast feel warm and cozy. The breakfast selection was plentiful, including corn buns, rice noodles, and unique fried barley pastries. The owners were very welcoming; they answered all my questions about Shangri-La and provided information on nearby attractions and routes. I stayed for three nights! Also, Benzilan is located in a valley at a low altitude, with a cool and comfortable climate."
Benzilan, located beside the Big Bend of the Jinsha River, is a profound Kham secret realm steeped in a thousand years of history along the Ancient Tea Horse Road. Boasting a mild and warm climate typical of dry-hot river valleys, scattered Zang ethnicity villages line the riverbanks, carrying on the enduring legacy of ancient caravan culture.
Hidden in the Yunnan-Xizang wilderness, Tea Horse Road Benzilan Hotel is crafted in harmony with local landforms and Xizang customs. Its architecture adopts the traditional rammed-earth Xizang building style, blending rustic ruggedness with refined elegance.
From some guest rooms, guests may overlook the surging Jinsha River and gaze afar at rolling mountain ranges capped with snow, with river breezes wafting the faint fragrance of plants. The hotel features authentic Zang ethnicity courtyards and terraces, allowing guests to behold the picturesque canyon landscapes without stepping outside. Local Kham delicacies are served on-site, offering an immersive taste of genuine Xizang rural charm. It serves as a cozy rest stop for journeys into Xizang and an ideal retreat to admire the grand Hengduan Mountains and embrace the culture of the Ancient Tea Horse Road.
"Traveling from Deqin to Shangri-La, I didn't want to rush, so I chose this as a stopover. I love this kind of boutique luxury hotel, where all the guests are soft-spoken. The hotel faces the Jinsha River, and the riverside pool is perfect for photos. The room was spacious enough, and the facilities were very well-maintained, as if the hotel had just opened. The breakfast at the restaurant was very extensive and delicious. What deserves the most praise is every single hotel employee I encountered, from the front desk to the restaurant staff—each person's smile was so warm, like the gentle morning glow."
"Since we came from Yubeng Village and didn't rent a car, the hotel's location was indeed much more suitable for self-driving. Fortunately, the hotel accommodated these inconveniences.
The hotel was renovated from an abandoned elementary school, but the overall feel is like a designer's new creation. The amenities were excellent. In addition to the essentials, there was a tea table by the large window facing the mountains. The bed was large, and our room wasn't arranged side by side, but rather one side by one, which was quite unique and even involved a fight over it.
The laundry service was thoughtful, and they even delivered goodnight milk in the evening. I also commend the breakfast, which offered both Chinese and Western options. It was one of the most comfortable and freshest breakfasts I've had in Yunnan these past few days, and the Western dishes were very satisfying.
The hotel is located in a village group of only eight households, a quiet place with both activity and tranquility. The villagers are simple and shy, and after a walk, I joined them in circumambulating the Buddhist scriptures. Nearby are the Baima Snow Mountain, perfect for hiking, the Niding Line, perfect for children, and numerous wineries. The town itself is famous for the story of a French grandmother. Driving on your own is definitely more enjoyable, but mountain roads require some driving skills.
Time is limited, so I'll definitely make up for this regret next time I drive on my own."

"It is a relatively large hotel in Cizhong Village, with convenient parking, large house space and decent hygiene. I originally wanted to hike in Antarctic Luo the next day, but unfortunately the proprietress said that the scenic area is now closed. It used to cost 350 yuan to share a car, but now it is 700 yuan. After thinking about it, I decided to forget it and wait until the scenic area is officially open before going."
