"Mingzhu Laka is definitely the top choice for viewing Meili Snow Mountain from Feilai Temple! Its location is superb, directly facing the Kawagebo peaks. "We arrived at the hotel very late at night, and I was worried about parking. To my surprise, the owner was incredibly helpful and personally drove us to the parking spot. All the surrounding supermarkets were closed, so we couldn't buy any food, but the owner thoughtfully brought us two cups of instant noodles, which was incredibly heartwarming. I was experiencing some altitude sickness, but this hotel is equipped with diffused oxygen, and the oxygen supply was very stable throughout the night. I slept incredibly soundly and comfortably, which greatly alleviated my altitude sickness discomfort. The room's amenities are excellent, with a humidifier and hairdryer readily available. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and it's clean and tidy, making for a truly fantastic stay. The owner is genuinely warm and welcoming, and the accommodation is comfortable and pleasant. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Feilai Temple. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time!"

"This hotel truly offers rooms with a view, with four rooms on each floor directly facing Mount Kawagebo. However, there's a new hotel being built behind it recently, and a large crane somewhat obstructs the view. The room is quite spacious, and the towels are disposable, which feels more hygienic. The room was clean, the bedding comfortable, and the two pillows catered to different preferences; the latex pillow was especially comfy. The proprietress was very welcoming and reminded us about the best time to see the 'golden sunlight on the mountain' (a local phenomenon)."

In Feilai Temple Scenic Area of Meili Snow Mountain, there is a dreamland for the soul to inhabit. Our hotel stands proudly here, opposite to the sacred Meili Snow Mountain, as if it were a scenic spot specially endowed by the Snow Mountain. In the early morning, when the first ray of sunshine gently sprinkled on Meili Snow Mountain, the magnificent "Rizhao Jinshan" wonders were presented without reservation. The golden brilliance spreads gradually, and the peak of the snow-capped mountain is dyed into a dazzling golden dome. Every ray of light is like a blessing from the sky, and you only need to stand on the viewing balcony of the hotel to get a panoramic view of this shocking beauty and start a beautiful day like a dream. When you step into the hotel, warmth and luxury come to you. The oxygen supply system is silently guarded, so that you can breathe freely on the plateau without being bothered by thin air at all. The floor heating is just the right warmth from the soles of the feet. Even if the outdoor wind is cold, it is still spring-like indoors. In the room, the projection curtain slowly falls, and a private audio-visual feast begins immediately. Whether it is a wonderful blockbuster or soothing music, it can add infinite comfort to your holiday time. Smart home system is intimately accompanied. With a touch, lights and curtains will move at will, and technology and comfort will be perfectly integrated. Want to have a glimpse of the snow-capped mountains? The exclusive elevator will quickly deliver you to the top floor, reduce the fatigue of climbing, and let you have a close conversation with the snow mountain at any time. Every detail of the hotel has been carefully carved to create an unparalleled accommodation experience for you. Here, you can not only indulge in the beauty of Meili Snow Mountain, but also enjoy a pleasant time in comfort and convenience. Whether it's a romantic trip with your lover or a happy holiday with your family and friends, our hotel is your best choice. Come to Feilai Temple Scenic Hotel in Meili Snow Mountain and start an unforgettable journey to explore the snow mountain, so that the soul can get the purest nourishment and comfort in this pure land.

"We were incredibly lucky to witness the 'Rizhao Jinshan' phenomenon (golden mountain bathed in sunlight)! The hotel's views are absolutely stunning (just ignore that big crane, haha). You get an unobstructed panorama of all thirteen Meili Snow Mountains. The owner was super enthusiastic; as soon as we arrived, he warmly explained the best ways to view the mountains. After showing us to our room, he even turned on the humidifier, oxygen machine, and floor heating for us. The hotel is very clean, and in the morning, you don't even need to go down to the observation deck; you can simply watch the snow-capped peaks from your balcony. The hotel thoughtfully provided large, thick blankets, which was a very nice touch."

I rarely write reviews, but I can't wait to give a good review this time. This is the most worthwhile day of this trip. It is the most textured hotel in Yubeng, and the decoration is very impressive. The Marshall speakers and Dyson toiletries in the room are also very nice. The service is very good. Basically, everything you need can be provided, such as moisturizing masks, fascia guns, oxygen, etc. Afternoon tea and breakfast are very rich and delicious, which is rare in Yubeng, a place with scarce supplies. There is a bar in the public area, with many types of whiskey and wine. I ordered a glass of Yamazaki and the atmosphere was really good when sitting in the lobby. I also want to thank the hotel for upgrading our room type. The view is great. I can completely relax here after a day of hiking.

I've been wanting to visit Ji Xia Shan for five years, and I absolutely love the overall design style. It was just as I imagined, and the service was incredibly warm; everyone was smiling and friendly. The rooftop bar has little notebooks where you can write your own stories and read others' thoughts. It's a shame that it was foggy these past few days so I couldn't see the magnificent snow-capped mountains, but I look forward to seeing them next time.

Fantastic, fabulous, and fascinating! This homestay in Benzilan is pure magic! The location is serene, the accommodation spotless, and the people—simply outstanding. The hosts treat you like family, always smiling and going the extra mile to make your stay unforgettable. Honestly, leaving this place is the hardest part! It’s hands down my best stay in Yunnan. If you’re heading to Deqin for Meili Snow Mountain, this is a must-stay. Highly recommended!

The room was fantastic! I was pleasantly surprised to find disposable face towels by the sink. I've stayed in much more expensive hotels that didn't offer this, so I really appreciate this thoughtful detail. It's also perfect for catching the sunrise over the 'Golden Mountain' (referring to a scenic view at sunrise). If you can't get out of bed, you can just open the curtains with the controller next to the bed and enjoy the view as soon as you open your eyes. Afterwards, you can close them and go right back to sleep. The hotel offers many experiential services. I booked a sachet-making workshop; you can make as many as you like, and they're beautifully crafted and smell wonderful. My family loved them when I brought them home. The BBQ was also delicious, and the restaurant offers an incredible view for dinner.

The view in the room is spectacular. You can see the view of the snow mountain and lush green mountains while taking a bath or in bed. It was the most wonderful stay for us. The room also came with all the amenities needed, equipped with a Dyson hairdryer and a Smeg kettle, which seems very suitable for the price. They also provide a free laundry service, which they will deliver clean clothes by your door in the morning. Beverages including water, soft drinks, coffee and tea are all included and can be provided as much as you need. They also prepared us sandwiches for us to take for our day hike. The young lady at the front desk, who is also a barista, took very good care of us. She is always active on Wechat for any requests we may have. She also kindly helped us to arrange a van to pick us up from Ninong to Feilaisi. Definitely a rewarding stay after long hikes!

I was incredibly satisfied with my stay! They even upgraded our room. The room was huge and very clean, with 24-hour oxygen supply. The large floor-to-ceiling window offered an amazing view of the thirteen peaks, and you could even see the main peak right from the bed. The rooftop terrace also had unobstructed views. The breakfast was good too!

We stayed in Yubeng during a week when access to the village was closed, and we were the only guests at the hotel. It’s located near the trailhead to Ice Lake and not too far from Lower Yubeng and the Sacred Waterfall (the return hike is steep, but anyone coming to this place should be prepared for long and demanding walks!). There was no room service during our stay (like trash collection), but the hosts were friendly, and the food at the restaurant was very tasty and fairly priced — especially considering the logistical challenges of stocking the kitchen. The room is simple but comfortable. The towels are disposable, which is a bit strange at first, but you get used to it (they actually dry you well). The view from the hotel balcony is unbelievable — definitely worth paying extra for a room with a view. We would happily stay there again.

They say you might not see the ”Golden Mountain in the Sun” in October, so I booked this place to avoid wasting money on a view that might not deliver. Turns out, we actually saw it! Super worth it!! The location is right next to where the bus drops you off, so it's a very easy walk, and close to the Feilai Temple viewing platform. The room was unbelievably spacious, and the underfloor heating worked perfectly. There are only four or five rooms, and the view is absolutely stunning. The owner is very simple and enthusiastic. I highly recommend this for anyone hoping to catch the Golden Mountain but worried about a wasted 4-hour drive if they miss it. The accommodation quality is easily more than triple that of other scenic hotels at the same price point, and the courtyard itself can help ease any disappointment if you don't see the sunrise. Let's talk about the downsides: 1. Feilai Temple is currently under construction, so there are large vehicles at night. I personally wasn't bothered by the noise, but I can't guarantee others wouldn't be. This seems to be a common issue for hotels along this road. 2. The room was very clean and tidy, but I wasn't a fan of the air freshener scent. My partner didn't notice it, though. 3. There were some really large flies. I hope the owner can improve pest control. Although they'll probably freeze to death in a few days, seeing them definitely puts a damper on the mood.

Getting to the hotel requires turning off National Highway 214 onto a village road, which was completely dark at night. At that moment, I regretted booking this place. However, after driving down that small road for about 5 minutes, we finally arrived, and I immediately felt that my choice was actually a good one. Once we entered the room, my worries completely disappeared! The room felt like a 4-star standard and, thankfully, was smoke-free. Even better, each room had a copy of the 'Brief Introduction to Diqing Prefecture,' a very professional, detailed, and comprehensive book that helps you quickly and systematically understand the area. The hotel restaurant's food was good (though a bit salty for us southerners). The prices weren't cheap, around 50 RMB per person, but given the generous portions, I wouldn't say it was expensive. The main benefit was not having to go out to eat, which saved time and effort. The hotel's environment and ambiance were perfect; it truly felt like a manor. I heard it used to be a vineyard that later upgraded to tourism services. Because it's far from the town and main road, it's incredibly quiet, and you can even see the peak of Meili Snow Mountain directly from here.

I’m sharing my honest feedback in the hope the owners find this useful and can use this to improve. I am coming with good intentions and wish the owners the best! If you are just looking for somewhere to lay your head after a long day of hiking and are a good sleeper, this place will suit you fine. The beds are large and comfortable. The bed heater comes in very handy and the showers are hot. The wifi signal is good. The dogs and cats are cute. With regards to where to improve, my suggestions below: 1. It is quite hard to find the place - the name is slightly different on Amap compared to Trip.com and as it’s a small village the roads don’t exactly match up with the map. Some signage would really help as other hotels have done. When you’ve been hiking for 5 hours and are tired you need some clear direction! 2. The owners have quite a relaxed and casual attitude to hospitality and I think they could do more to make you feel welcome. It is more of a homestay than a hotel - the common area doubles as the owners living space, and while the owners go about their day (eating, playing on phone, de-fleaing their cats) it can on occasion feel like you are intruding upon their space. A little hospitality would go a long way - a smile or acknowledgment when you enter the room, the offer of a hot drink on arrival or a warm welcome after your long hike to the village for example. 3. I think the above is especially true for foreign guests- I can speak and read some Mandarin so was able to get by, but it would be difficult if you had no understanding of the language and the hosts are not particularly forthcoming with help or information. This stands out as everywhere else we have been in China hosts have been so hospitable and willing to help - translation apps are so useful here. Just a simple one pager of what you offer, the menu, kitchen hours etc translated into English is my suggestion! 4. There is absolutely no soundproofing in the room. You can hear every footstep, whisper and noise from the adjoining rooms - if you are a light sleeper you will wake up. I would really recommend that this is addressed for guests’ peace! 5. Install one non-squat toilet in the shared bathroom area, so guests who aren’t used to these can use another type of toilet! Unfortunately, there is still quite a bit of construction going on around but there’s nothing that the hosts can do about that - it is everywhere in the village. We weren’t lucky enough to experience good weather while we were there but I have no doubt the views would have been incredible!
