Hotels in Dukezong Ancient City, Shangri-La

During the rainy season, this place is very cozy and has everything you need. The room was big and had an oxygen machine along with humidifier and heater to ensure comfort for our family. Bright room but blackout curtains were effective. Views were mostly of construction around the location but didn’t bother us. The location is well-located with a convenience store down the street and plenty of Old Town restaurants in walking distance along with giant prayer wheel. Cars can come to pick you up directly or you can rent mopeds nearby. The couple who runs the place also gives great recommendations of when to do things and how to get places - easy to reach them on WeChat or in person. Having a pickup and dropoff makes travel super convenient. The breakfast is also healthy and filling. Shangri-La is quite high altitude, and we weren’t sure how we’d adjust, but this place has everything you need whether you want to rest or play! Wishing them much success with their future expansion

the homestay is so good and pretty (nice choice of color combination)! the facilities provided in the room is so good and top notch! good technology especially the modern toilet, took my time to play with the toilet bowl using the remote (haha). the beds also have heating mattress which I only remember the morning we checked out T___T. I suffered the cold for 2 nights for nothing, lol. everything is good and nice. the owner will chat through WeChat beforehand. a very friendly and warm hearted owner. the place is just around the dukezhong ancient town and it is easy for us to stroll around. also no problem for people who carry a lot of luggages as the car can reach the gate/door of the homestay! overall, recommended!

We chartered a car from Lijiang to Shangri-La. Sister Zhuoma and her handsome husband were waiting there early. Entering the moonlit night was like opening Pandora's box. The traditional style of the room amazed us❗️The bed was so comfortable. I immediately had the most peaceful sleep on the trip. Sister Zhuoma and her family were very hospitable. They took out their treasured ******* clothes for my son to change into. Any photo inside the homestay was very photogenic! We were also lost in the welcome home and almost forgot to buy tickets home. Hahaha. This time, time is limited. Next time, I will take my family to find Sister Zhuoma and the ******* Mastiff in Sister Zhuoma's heart.

Warm Hospitality & Comfortable Stay Near Shangri-La Ancient Town I had such a great stay at Shanshui Yunjian Inn! The owner, his wife, and their son were absolutely amazing—so friendly, warm, and always ready to help. They even allowed me to check in early, which I really appreciated after a long journey. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the attached heater made the chilly weather feel cozy. I honestly had one of the best sleeps during my trip here. They also helped me rent a motorbike at a very affordable price, which made it easy for me to explore Napahai Lake and the Songzanlin Monastery. The inn’s decor is simple but tasteful, with a relaxing atmosphere. Plus, it’s just a short walk to Shangri-La Ancient Town, which is super convenient. Highly recommended for anyone who wants comfort, kindness, and a good location in Shangri-La!

The staff at Deyang Mansion were extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly. A kind family, young Wang picked us up from the train station which was only 15 minutes from the accomodation. They welcomed us with soup and snacks on arrival, and even had prepared according to my dietary requirements which was extremely generous and thoughtful. My daughter and I unfortunately ended up unwell a few days into our time in Shangrila, and the family looked after us (no need to go into too much detail) as one of their own with so much patience and care. I can never thank them enough for this and highly recommend as a guesthouse that you can count on to look after you. Also, I loved the location being just far enough out of the old town so that it was quiet, but close enough to walk tot he centre in 10 minutes. I’ll be back again and I’ll be planning my stay at Deyang Mansion again.

The room was exceptionally well-appointed, featuring a smart toilet and an excellent smart electric toothbrush. The mattress was incredibly comfortable too. It's clear the owner has put a lot of care and thought into every detail. The staff member was also wonderfully warm and friendly, even inviting me to join them for their staff lunch. I truly appreciated every single person working here. This was hands down the best and most unique experience I've had in Shangri-La.

I stayed here a few years ago. This time I came to Shangri-La again and chose this Tibetan-style accommodation. The room is large, with an oxygen concentrator and heating. The temperature was very low during our stay in Shangri-La, but the room was very warm. Friends who drive themselves can park their cars at the door, and the boss will coordinate parking spaces. We were stuck in traffic early in the morning, but we were quickly adjusted. The boss is very reliable. The location is a quiet place in the ancient city, and I like it very much.

The B&B is surrounded by many delicious local restaurants. Breakfast is included, and the room is very well-equipped, even featuring a humidifier and an oxygen concentrator. The room itself is excellent. It's also very convenient for those driving. The B&B is just a 7-minute walk from Guishan Park, providing easy access to all destinations. Nearby attractions are also very close and easily reachable by taxi.

Having stayed at Pudacuo the previous night and hardly slept a wink, it really hammered home that in high-altitude regions, a 'proper' hotel like Shangri-La is essential for a good night's rest. Shangri-La county town itself isn't particularly scenic, so there's no need to splurge on an expensive room with a view; the sights from there are just mediocre anyway. However, the hotel's interior is quite photogenic and makes for great pictures. While there isn't a diffused oxygen supply throughout the hotel, for mild altitude sickness (like my headache), a quick stop at the oxygen bar on the first floor was enough to alleviate it.

Location is great. It's inside the lijiang Ancient city & also close to road with access to cars so you don't have to drag your luggage in the ancient city. It's also quiet at night for restful sleep. Hotel has aircon, electric blankets, good hot showers and also heater at the shower area to keep u warm at all times during the colder times. Also an oxygen machine free for use. Only improvement is the black out curtains r not very black out, so the room will not be entirely blacked out. They provide only one time use disposable towels which some prefer for hygiene but I still prefer the normal towels. Daily housekeeping is not provided unless requested and advised that no valuables in the room. Toilet is leaky so the floor is always kinda wet. For travellers, late may / early June is kinda their rainy season so it's a bit troublesome when going to attractions. Rain is not heavy and with occasional sun.
