民宿 is conveniently located. About 200m from car park. Staff located trip.com to arranged to pick us up from drop off point. Comm was via WeChat after connection was made.
I was upgraded to a bigger room. Laundry detergent was provided and can dry my clothes on the heater.
Had to pre order breakfast the before. It wasn’t too bad.
Overall excellent stay.

This is arguably the most distinctive hotel in Shangri-La. The architectural style is distinctly *******, and the staff are warm and attentive. Both the refreshments and breakfast are excellent. It's conveniently located right inside the ancient town, just 200 meters from Sifang Street, yet it remains surprisingly quiet. The hotel's viewing platform offers panoramic views of Shangri-La, and at night, you can even spot the distant prayer wheels.

The hotel is housed in an old building, reportedly once the office of local officials. The in-room amenities are quite comprehensive, with particular thought put into the toiletries. What's more, guests are even welcome to keep the bath towels. Parking is not very convenient; guests must use an external public parking lot. Access to the lot is quite narrow, and spaces tend to fill up quickly in the afternoon. The hotel thoughtfully offers complimentary afternoon tea and coffee to guests.

Beautiful boutique hotel adjacent to the "old town", filled with traditional buildings, fabulous restaurants and shops. My garden view room was beautifully furnished, large and with many amenities, as well as oriental art. The king bed was so comfortable, and the extras were appreciated. Jimmy greeted us with a tea presentation with fruit and rose petal cakes. He was attentive and knowledgeable, as were all the staff. The breakfast room was filled with art and musical instruments, and had a wonderful view. The name Zen Garden is totally apt for this tranquil hotel. Jimmy also drove us in a very comfortable SUV EV to the train station and gave us information about our other destinations. Thank you for a wonderful stay Zen Garden. I was sorry to leave.

Amazing carved timber ancient style feeling with modern amenities. Step outside into Ancient City hustle and bustle. Staff very caring and helpful. Very enjoyable time here

The most beautiful hotel I ever stayed in. The decor is stunning looks like I was staying in a ******* monastery. We were scared it was going to be cold but the heat was so strong I had to turn it off at one point. The rooms are also oxygen supplied so didn’t have to worry about altitude sickness. Service was wonderful. The location is very convenient right in the middle or the ancient town. Highly recommend you won’t regret it.
