I’m an expat residing in Shanghai and this is the fifth time I visit Zhujiajiao, each time in a different hotel. All were very good, but this one is now the one I will definitely come back to in my next trips. Outstanding and highly recommended.

A real view room! You can see the Yuanjue Zen Temple opposite the river!
The yard is very elegant, with grapes, pomegranates, figs and persimmon trees. There is also a teahouse on the first floor. You can order a pot of tea and sit by the river.
The internal hygiene is very clean, and it is one of the cleanest B&Bs among so many B&Bs. There are disposable toothbrushes and toiletries. The toilet is smart and there is no smell of smoke.
The decoration is a combination of the Republic of China and the Ming and Qing Dynasties. There are many old wood carvings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the interior decoration.
The boss is very friendly and will tell us how to get to the nearest subway station.
The free breakfast of pan-fried buns, steamed dumplings and millet porridge is delicious.

My family and I walked back and forth to Zhujiajiao several times. When we were tired, we would return to the homestay to rest before setting off again. Really nice homestay in the heart of Zhujiajao ancient town.
It's a small house with just a few rooms.
While the lady speaks English, her husband communicated by translator app with me.
The riverside rooms really have a nice view.
The ancient town can be discovered by walking.
To Shanghai center it's about 75 minutes by subway or taxi.
The room included a nice breakfast.
I preferred this homestay over any hotel in Shanghai.
The area is so nice, it's a Chinese version of Venice, Italy.
During sunny days, after 9am the narrow streets will be crowded by (mainly Chinese) tourists.
