The service from this hotel was especially terrible and I feel it’s worth noting. The boss didn’t communicate to the employees for more than an hour so even though I had a successful booking ID, I was not allowed to check in. When I did arrive and get checked in, the floor was very dirty with something like potting soil or coffee grounds that were very visible. There were hair from two different people on the bed (though to be fair that could have been from the cleaning people) as well as a bug. The bathroom didn’t have curtains on the window which would be OK except for there is a tower on the mosque next-door and the window wouldn’t fully close- which is a problem, not only for mosquitoes, but also for the noise from the mosque as prayer was being spoken. I was not provided with a towel until I asked for one and discussed the other problems with the room. The staff understood why I was upset and were apologetic. They did do their best to try to help me, but also failed to clean the floor before I arrived or give me towels. One final problem that I observed was that upon checkout, nobody was available to help me. I called and looked around for someone for 10 minutes but left my card on the desk because I was worried I would miss my boat. This hotel room was more expensive than many others in the area and I feel like it was not worth it, but the view from the window was OK and it’s very close to the port.

Stairs till floor 5, no water in sink, aircond not cold

During my recent stay at the Monalisa Guest House, I was extremely disappointed with the cleanliness and amenities provided. The floors in the room were covered in dust, indicating a lack of proper cleaning and maintenance. Additionally, the absence of a table and mirror in the room made it inconvenient for me to carry out basic tasks and prepare myself. The overall lack of cleanliness and essential amenities significantly impacted my stay at the hotel. I hope that the management addresses these issues to improve the experience for future guests.

Is nice hotel, just close the bathroom door otherwise a ugly smell will enter the room! They have washing machine with dryer wich is great! but then you can also hang your clothes outside in the balcony, the staff are friendly. Main area is a bit depressing, they could make it look a bit more cozy so people can sit there and chat.

The 2nd room is too small. Need to walk up a staircase in order to access to the guest house. Should top up RM30 to stay at a hotel

helpful staff and a great in the room (601). Location is good, right in the downtown, easy to go anywhere and be part of the local life. It is good to just walk around and enjoy the atmosphere.

I came here with my friend to get a diving certificate. I stayed for several days. The price is affordable. It's really good. It's not luxurious, but clean and hygienic. It feels like a Japanese tatami. The bed is very soft and I slept very well. The most important thing is that it is located in the center of the town and it is very convenient to go anywhere. The boss lady is very nice. I consulted her for the itinerary and plan these days. If you are not here for a high-cost honeymoon, I recommend coming here to sleep comfortably for a few nights before you have the energy to go diving.

The location is very good, in the center of the town, close to each pier! The seafood market is a two-minute walk away! There is a large supermarket opposite! High cost performance, similar to domestic homestays.

The room is clean, tidy and sanitary, very good, and cost-effective compared to other hotels. I came here mainly because it was clean. I put on earplugs before going to bed to hear the noise from the mosque next door, and I couldn't hear it at all after falling asleep. The boss was very friendly.
