Romantic Hotels in Colombo

"The room was surprisingly clean; the floor was sparkling, and the desk and drawers were dust-free. The bathroom was spotless. The lighting in the room, bedroom, and bathroom was bright, comfortable, and clear without being harsh. The water quality was excellent; I didn't need to change the filter showerhead, and there was no noticeable discoloration within the week I used it. The yellowing I saw was from use at home, but in Colombo, it didn't worsen. This water quality is much better than in high-end apartments in downtown KL. However, there were also downsides. The soundproofing was very poor, leading to significant noise. The hotel is by the sea, and there's a railway track where trains frequently pass. The city itself has a climate with frequent rain and strong winds; the wind was very strong at night, and during the day when it rained, it was a gale. On the lower floors, there are tin coverings outside the hotel that make a lot of noise when it's windy. You could also clearly hear neighbors using their hair dryers. If you're a light sleeper or have trouble falling asleep, this might not be the place for you. The beach hotel a few hundred meters away has much better soundproofing, but it's more expensive, so it might not be suitable for long stays."
