Kui Ran was renovated from a six-generation-old ancestral home of the Naxi and Japanese style, covering an area of over 3,000 square meters. It features two main buildings, two distinct inner courtyards, and an additional 2,000 square meters of outdoor space. The 160-year-old walnut tree in the courtyard is the soul of the place. The hotel has 14 rooms, including 13 scenic rooms facing the snow-capped mountains and one century-old ancestral home family suite. Each room is equipped with Marshall speakers, Epson projectors, Hisense TVs, Atour zero-pressure memory pillows, Acca Kappa toiletries, Kohler showers, and Jomoo smart toilets to ensure a comfortable stay. A complimentary breakfast is delivered to the room, along with welcome fruits, a snack package, and a selection of coffee for afternoon tea, allowing guests to indulge their taste buds and embark on a journey back to nature. After visiting Dali, I stayed in this hotel for the first night in Lijiang. I wanted to see the snow-capped mountains first and then visit Lijiang Ancient Town. When booking, I found a hotel near Baisha Ancient Town. I was not disappointed. It was the same as the picture on Ctrip Hotel. The hotel waiter also contacted me early and helped me carry my luggage. He was very enthusiastic. When I checked in, I was served hot milk tea. After that, the butler Xiaohe also introduced the facilities in the room. I could ask the butler Xiaohe to pick me up at any time to go to Baisha Ancient Town or within 3 kilometers. There was also barbecue in the evening. Unfortunately, the lawn was wet after the heavy rain and I didn’t have a bonfire party. If I come again in the future, I will choose Ono Sanqiu

We were initially staying at a large Hyatt brand hotel in Lijiang, and wanted to experience these up and coming boutique, modern style hotels. So my comparison is against the traditional big name hotels with similar price points. Pros: 1. Interesting design, bathroom right by the window 2. Great service, you can contact them easily and they are always free to have a conversation with you 3. Free flow drinks and snacks 4. Free car service to nearby towns 5. Cute open farm where you can feed and play with goats, ponies and even dogs. Cons: 1. Open concept lobby. Was freezing when having my breakfast. 2. Breakfast only starts at 8:30am, with limited options. You don’t get to enjoy the buffet style of large hotels. 3. Had trouble figuring out how to turn on heating, so was absolutely freezing in the room. 4. Room Design didn’t translate into practicality. Didn’t enjoy the open concept toilet. But this is contentious, and really up to individual preference. But I didn’t get the luxury experience I was looking for. 5. Lack of privacy: we booked the room with a large hot tub with Mountain View. However it is also facing the farm and being on the second floor. Anyone can easily look up and see us in the bath tub. While there is no one playing at night, we were only limited to night time baths which was a waste as we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the view in the day time. Overall, while I enjoyed the personalized and impeccable service (comparable to Aman hotels and expensive Maldives resorts), I just feel like the hotel being new, has a few teething issues it needs to resolve. I would argue that it is also an individual’s personal preference. For me, they shared the same price point with the large luxury brands in the area, but I just did not get the luxury experience from the room and hotel’s design. Their room design seem to heavily focus on aesthetics but not really functionality for their guests.

The overall experience of this homestay is very good. Although it only includes one pick-up service, the housekeeper still arranged a vehicle for us when we checked out. Fortunately, the same master picked us up and dropped us off. He also stopped along the way for us to take pictures, which was very considerate! The homestay itself is like a ”paradise”, with a beautiful and quiet environment, and it is very relaxing to stay here. It takes about an hour to drive from Lijiang Railway Station. The scenery along the way is also very beautiful, and you can see the snow-capped mountains from a distance. We also played ATV, which was super fun and a highlight of the entire trip! It is recommended to bring some snacks to the homestay and sit in the yard at night while chatting and eating snacks, which is very comfortable~ The only shortcoming is that it would be better if smoking was prohibited in the hall. It was a little uncomfortable to smell the smoke when eating and resting. In addition, it would be better if the housekeepers could take more initiative to care and serve. It may be that the staff is a little tight and the response is a little slow. This time, because of the bad weather, I couldn't go to Yulong Snow Mountain. It's a pity. I can only make up for it next time! Overall, this is a good B&B with beautiful scenery, few people, quiet and comfortable. It is suitable for relaxing and resting. The new B&B covers a large area, with a view of the snow-capped mountains from the side. The owner and his wife have ideas, the country villa has style, and the decoration details are well received. The Naxi milk pot in the store is worth trying. The fragrant New Year pork is paired with yam, potato and vermicelli, which is a must-try. One copper pot is completely eaten up. The toilet paper is too thin. Worth recommending.

The whole homestay is small and exquisite, with good service. The boss and employees are very enthusiastic to take care of things for us, such as introducing secret spots, taking taxis, buying tickets, pick-up, etc., without saying no, allowing us to explore easily and go to where we want to go. 5️⃣✴️ good reviews🫰 Each room has its own characteristics, there are garden view rooms, mountain view rooms, half-mountain view rooms, etc. We chose the half-mountain view room for the spring end, a very beautiful room name❤️.
