Traveling to Dunhuang, we stayed at Courtyard No. 23 for two nights, and the overall experience was fantastic! The room was very clean, and the entire environment is especially suitable for families with children. The courtyard has many fruit trees, including Li Guang apricots and green apples. They also raise goats and bunnies, so kids can feed the pets, and there's a lovely Border Collie too. Sitting on a lounge chair or hammock under the green apple tree, with a gentle breeze blowing, was incredibly relaxing. You can pick apricots to eat while strolling around the courtyard; the owner is very hospitable and encouraged us to eat as much as we liked [Joyful]. There's also a go-kart track, and the kids couldn't stop playing. In the morning, we had breakfast at a large wooden table under the apricot tree, enjoying delicious lamb soup noodles with coarse grains. Looking at the blue sky and the rustling poplars in the wind, we are so grateful to the guesthouse for adding such beauty to our trip. The staff were warm, thoughtful, and attentive. I truly recommend this courtyard for anyone visiting Dunhuang!

The hotel is very close to Crescent Lake, with a night market right downstairs featuring Alibaba BBQ and various stir-fries and grilled dishes. The hotel restaurant on the first floor has an elegant ambiance. Although the breakfast selection isn't huge, it caters to various tastes with options like rice noodles, lamb noodle soup, and tofu pudding. The highlight for me, as a tea lover, was the excellent selection of teas available. The staff's service attitude was exceptional; I called them in the early hours about something I hadn't confirmed, and they quickly sorted it out for me. As a member, I also received a free room upgrade to a twin room with 1.5m beds. Our family trip was very enjoyable.

This was my first stop in China and I’m so happy that I stayed in Dunhuang at Baibaili Hotel. I was looked after so well, the hospitality of the staff extended many times for several necessities and I’m touched by their hospitality. This will for a very long time, be my remarkable first impression of China, its people and their culture. The location is perfect if you want to stay a bit further out from town and enjoy the silence of being closer to the desert and the stunning design of the place. Beautiful and comfortable room, all the final touches refined every day and after 24 hrs of travelling; a generous fruit and snack plate that grounded me sweetly into Dunhuang upon arrival and farewelled me just after mid-autumn with a beautiful moon cake. This guesthouse is truly unique! Each room is named after one of the twelve zodiac signs, with designs that blend local flair and astrological elements. In the evenings, you can go stargazing, with options for an indoor lecture and actual observation from the rooftop. The instructor mentioned that summer is the best season for stargazing, and if you want to spot your own zodiac constellation, it's best to visit around two months before or after its designated month. They even gave us wishing bottles for our own zodiac signs, which we filled with sand from Mingsha Mountain the next day to take home! The host is incredibly warm and helpful; you can ask her about local tourism, car rentals, and more – she's very considerate. Breakfast is different every day, with a thoughtful and nutritious selection. There's also an adorable cat who loves to 'accompany' you during meals, often sitting on a chair. She gets so happy if you share half an egg yolk with her every morning! She also recently had three tiny, adorable kittens! The guesthouse features a classroom and a spacious, bright lobby, making it feel especially suitable for study tour groups. We initially planned to stay two nights but loved it so much we extended for another night. The village atmosphere is quiet and comfortable, and it's about a 15-minute taxi ride to Shazhou Night Market and around 20 minutes to the train station, so transportation is very convenient. Highly recommend for family trips and educational tours!

The hotel's location is excellent, right opposite Shazhou Night Market. The room decor is also very nice. I forgot to take pictures of breakfast, but they had a great selection of cold dishes, hot dishes, fruits, and drinks. There's parking available right in front of the hotel and also an underground garage. In the evening, after visiting Crescent Spring, we took the free shuttle bus that drops you near the hotel, and it was only a 7-8 minute walk back to rest. So convenient! Plus, the room even has a bathtub, perfect for the kids to soak in after a tiring day. From its location to its service, this hotel is simply perfect. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Dunhuang!!

Very satisfied! The bed was super comfortable and everything was clean and tidy. It's right next to the desert, which is cool. Xiao Yi's service was excellent, she was always ready to help with anything. I'm really happy with this trip and will definitely choose to stay here again next time.

Facilities: The facilities are very comprehensive and thoughtfully arranged! For example, they provide body lotion, and the tissues are thick. You can adjust the shower water temperature yourself, and the water pressure is great. The toiletries are also complete and very comfortable to use, making it feel just like showering at home. There's even a mini-fridge! The curtains are electric, and when you activate the sleep mode, they close automatically. The TV offers various channels. There's free self-service laundry, and each floor has a drying area. These small, thoughtful facilities are truly amazing! For a hotel in this price range, it offers exceptional value for money. Cleanliness: The overall cleanliness is excellent; everything, even the glass, is sparkling clean. Environment: The hotel parking lot is large, and there are many dining options nearby. If you're too tired to go out, the hotel has its own restaurant, and the food is good. The surroundings are also very quiet. Service: The service is excellent. We had driven for five hours and were very tired when we arrived. When booking online, I had requested a non-smoking room. Out of the five or six hotels we stayed at during our Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop trip, this was the only one that truly paid attention to our request. They told me they were arranging a non-smoking room for us, offered us water to rest while they processed it, and then informed us when it was ready. They also provided us with sun protection neck gaiters, small yogurts, and cookie snacks. All the teas in the room are complimentary, and even the drinking glasses come with a dust cover. We were so pleasantly surprised by these thoughtful touches. This was the most comfortable hotel we stayed at throughout our trip; we almost didn't want to leave. Since we had a lot of stuff, I didn't take many photos. I'm not a shill, I genuinely highly recommend this hotel!!

I came for the beautiful public decor and the desert dune view, and it did not disappoint! The stay was also very comfortable; the cleaning staff did an excellent job, making for a super great experience. It's very close to the Mingsha Mountain parking lot, making access to and from the scenic area very convenient. Getting to Mogao Grottoes in the morning was also quick, only a 20-minute drive! The environment is peaceful, and it happened to be sunny during my two-day stay. This location, free from city lights, offers a crystal-clear view of the stars – perfect for stargazing enthusiasts! It's also not far from the city center, about a 10-20 minute drive if you're self-driving. Breakfast is usually at 8 AM, but they were also able to provide an early packed breakfast for us when we needed to leave early. Overall, I'm very satisfied!

We made a mistake choosing this hotel: the word “international” led us to believe it would be better prepared to receive foreign guests, but that was not our experience. That said, the staff’s service was excellent at all times. Although they did not speak English, they consistently made the effort to use translation tools to communicate with us and assist us in the best possible way, which we truly appreciated. The hotel was almost empty. The first breakfast took place in a huge dining area where we were the only guests, which meant the variety was quite limited. There was some Chinese food and a coffee machine, but there were no options commonly expected by international travelers, such as fruit, cereals, yogurt, or bread. That same day, we were informed that the rest of the breakfasts would be delivered directly to our room. The staff made a continuous effort to ensure we felt comfortable with this arrangement, confirming the delivery time with us each day. The room was spacious and comfortable. However, the cleanliness did not match the hotel’s level and price: the carpet had visible stains, and finding a toothpick at the entrance made it clear that cleaning standards were not adequate. In addition, the amount of shampoo and soap provided was extremely limited—again, not consistent with the quality one would expect given the building and overall appearance of the hotel. In summary, we would like to highlight the kindness and dedication of the staff, but we believe the hotel still has important aspects to improve, especially regarding international standards and cleanliness.

If life is a never-ending journey, then the camping trip at the Desert Star Hotel is undoubtedly a highlight of my journey. When I arrived at the campsite, the first thing that attracted me was the unique tent house. Unlike regular tents, the top of the tent is made of special transparent materials, like a huge viewing platform, which builds a bridge of communication between me and the vast galaxy. As night fell, I couldn't wait to lie on the soft bed, and when I looked up, the bright starry sky was presented to me without reservation. The stars twinkled, like gems inlaid on the black sky, beautiful as a dream. At that moment, the world seemed to press the mute button, and the impetuousness and noise in my heart were instantly soothed. The unique beauty of this quietness made me intoxicated. It is worth mentioning that the hotel staff is very considerate. After placing the order, the customer service guy at the front desk added our contact information and gave us some local travel tips, which saved us a lot of time. From the warm reception at check-in, to the careful guidance during the activities, to the warm greetings at night, every detail made people feel cared for. They not only provided me with thoughtful service, but also made me feel the simplicity and enthusiasm of the desert people. This desert camping trip not only allowed me to appreciate the magnificent scenery of the desert, but also experienced exciting and interesting activities, which became an eternal and beautiful memory in my heart.
