Dunhuang Hotels with Bars

The owner was incredibly welcoming. Not only did they offer airport pickup, but upon seeing we had a child, they immediately upgraded us to a twin room. We were even more pleasantly surprised when we arrived – the room was huge and spacious, and it had a XiaoDu smart system that kept the kids entertained. When we rushed to Crescent Spring upon arrival, the owner quickly prepared water and shoe covers for us. Everything was so thoughtful and heartwarming! The room details were also excellent: disposable face towels and bath towels, and a stool in the bathroom, which was very convenient for kids. Another bonus was the wooden house on the third floor – perfect for stargazing at night and watching the sunrise in the morning. Everything was fantastic!

A cozy B&B by Mingsha Mountain with an amazing lamb noodle soup for breakfast! I booked this ”No. 23 Courtyard” through Trip.com in Dunhuang, and it exceeded my expectations. Definitely deserves a great review. 📍Location: It's very close to Mingsha Mountain Scenic Area, only a 7-yuan taxi ride away. Super convenient for catching both sunset and sunrise, saving a lot of travel time. 🏡Environment: There's a charming little courtyard. I had breakfast sitting under a tree one morning, and the owner and his daughter (just home for vacation) even picked some local specialty Li Guang apricots for us to try, sharing an interesting legend. Although I heard a few dog barks at night (their dog Chopper was on duty!), the owner explained it was foxes visiting, which actually added a touch of wilderness charm. 🛏️Accommodation: The room was clean and tidy, and very quiet at night. A pleasant surprise was the fully automatic, heated smart toilet. The towels were also thick, new plush ones, making for a comfortable and reassuring stay. 🍜Breakfast: It's a set menu, and I have to rave about the lamb noodle soup – fresh, delicious, and warming. The five-spice tea eggs were also very flavorful. The owner eats the same food as the guests, which shows the quality of the ingredients. 🍵Afternoon Tea: They surprisingly offer it for free, which is rare for a B&B. Big plus! Overall, it's a comfortable, clean B&B with a family-like atmosphere and great value for money. I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Dunhuang.

Out of our 9-day trip along the Qinghai-Gansu Loop, this homestay was our family's absolute favorite. It's a place with real heart and soul, where every detail is thoughtfully considered. Even our five-year-old said he'd give this hotel 30 stars! The homestay has a great design aesthetic, and the rooms are spotless, perfectly matching the tastes and ideas of younger travelers. We always bring our own disposable toiletries when we travel, but here, everything was already provided in the room. I also really loved the landlady – she's just one of those people you instantly like, and it was so comfortable interacting with her. From the moment we checked into the homestay in Dunhuang, we had such a positive impression of the city. Even though our stay was brief, it's full of beautiful memories. When we were leaving, she found out my child liked apricots and even gave him some from her own yard, which was incredibly touching. The breakfast offered a wide variety, and it was all very enjoyable. I truly recommend this homestay if you're coming to Dunhuang. I hope everyone gets to experience the genuine warmth and hospitality during their travels here. Their raisins are also highly recommended!

This was my first stop in China and I’m so happy that I stayed in Dunhuang at Baibaili Hotel. I was looked after so well, the hospitality of the staff extended many times for several necessities and I’m touched by their hospitality. This will for a very long time, be my remarkable first impression of China, its people and their culture. The location is perfect if you want to stay a bit further out from town and enjoy the silence of being closer to the desert and the stunning design of the place. Beautiful and comfortable room, all the final touches refined every day and after 24 hrs of travelling; a generous fruit and snack plate that grounded me sweetly into Dunhuang upon arrival and farewelled me just after mid-autumn with a beautiful moon cake. Very satisfied! The bed was super comfortable and everything was clean and tidy. It's right next to the desert, which is cool. Xiao Yi's service was excellent, she was always ready to help with anything. I'm really happy with this trip and will definitely choose to stay here again next time.

We were extremely satisfied in every aspect! This Dunhuang hotel was simply perfect! We were thoughtfully upgraded to a better room because we were traveling with children, and the attention to detail was heartwarming. Breakfast was especially considerate of our little one, and the cleanliness was impeccable; the housekeeping staff were incredibly attentive. Every staff member we encountered was warm and attentive, making for a flawless experience. The hotel's location is superb, very close to the Dunhuang Night Market and major attractions, making travel incredibly convenient. We were so satisfied that we extended our stay multiple times… If we ever visit Dunhuang again, this will definitely be our top choice!

I absolutely loved the hotel's 'wild luxury' aesthetic – it's simple yet grand, with a unique and pleasant aroma. 3. The hotel's travel photography service is outstanding! I got the best set of photos I've ever had. Both the makeup artist and photographer were incredibly professional. I was instantly thrilled with the retouched photos just 5 minutes after the shoot, and even more delighted to learn they'd spend another three days on meticulous post-processing. The terrace above the lobby offers a fantastic photo op, especially with the red canopy against the desert backdrop – it's truly magnificent and a unique scene. 4. Given how dry Dunhuang is, the hotel thoughtfully provided complimentary face masks and lotion. 5. They also offered a free transfer to my next hotel.

Staying at this place in Dunhuang was such a pleasant surprise! First off, the overall environment is incredibly clean, and the style is unique. The room amenities are comprehensive, with thoughtful touches like eye masks and earplugs. The smart home controls throughout the room were a huge plus for someone as lazy as me! And I was thrilled to find that the toiletries were Diptyque, a brand I actually use myself – it instantly made me feel right at home and relaxed. We also got to experience making fun mud slab paintings at the guesthouse, which was a fantastic hands-on activity that made our leisure time incredibly fulfilling. Lastly, a big shout-out to the staff; they were attentive and enthusiastic without being intrusive, always providing just the right amount of care. The breakfast and afternoon tea were also very generous; my friend and I couldn't even finish it all! The entire stay was relaxing and enjoyable. If our itinerary hadn't been so tight, I honestly would have loved to stay a few more nights.

We made a mistake choosing this hotel: the word “international” led us to believe it would be better prepared to receive foreign guests, but that was not our experience. That said, the staff’s service was excellent at all times. Although they did not speak English, they consistently made the effort to use translation tools to communicate with us and assist us in the best possible way, which we truly appreciated. The hotel was almost empty. The first breakfast took place in a huge dining area where we were the only guests, which meant the variety was quite limited. There was some Chinese food and a coffee machine, but there were no options commonly expected by international travelers, such as fruit, cereals, yogurt, or bread. That same day, we were informed that the rest of the breakfasts would be delivered directly to our room. The staff made a continuous effort to ensure we felt comfortable with this arrangement, confirming the delivery time with us each day. The room was spacious and comfortable. However, the cleanliness did not match the hotel’s level and price: the carpet had visible stains, and finding a toothpick at the entrance made it clear that cleaning standards were not adequate. In addition, the amount of shampoo and soap provided was extremely limited—again, not consistent with the quality one would expect given the building and overall appearance of the hotel. In summary, we would like to highlight the kindness and dedication of the staff, but we believe the hotel still has important aspects to improve, especially regarding international standards and cleanliness.

The location is great, and the hotel includes a free tour of the Silk Road Heritage City! However, it wasn't as wonderful as I'd imagined! I thought I'd be able to take the photos I posted on the platform before the beginning of the month! Breakfast was supposed to be between 8 and 9 AM, but it wasn't there. The owner got up at 8:30 AM and scrambled to make a few eggs and watermelon. If you want to experience the yurt, that's fine, but we probably won't be staying there again!
