Been dozens of times really gone down hill.scraping the barrel with some of the ignorant rude arguement staff. Not that clean now ,when we arrived only 6 sheets of toilet paper on roll.!!!. Wooden stick for tea spoon .???.if you book on your own not as a party not cheap.shame as girl on reception, victoria ,who has left was very polite and professional.

Have stayed at this hotel before. The stay this time though was disappointing. The room was clean on arrival, with fresh towels and the usual shower / shampoo you would expect from a hotel of this standard. Lighting in the room was quite poor. Sunken ceiling lights were not sufficient to allow a person to dry their hair in front of if the dressing table mirror and the only window in the room had seagull poo in the inside for some reason, The room service was not up to the previous standard, as I twice had to visit reception to request items that hadn’t been replenished. The reception staff were on the whole friendly, apart from one person, who was quite offhand and I got the impression that he was annoyed that I had interrupted him reading his paper to request what was missing. The second time ,( in our 3 day stay), the room had only been half finished and I ended up making our own bed and cleaning the shower myself. The maid we spoke to on that day looked very tired and said she had to do rooms on 2 floors on her own, which to me was a stretch and they could have done with more service staff. Small things that shouldn’t have to be tolerated like having a double size duvet in a king size cover, leaving loads of empty space at the ends I found quite irritating. Breakfast was between 8-30 and 9-30. We were down each morning before 9 am and had full breakfasts. On 2 of the days it was obvious they had been cooked a lot earlier as the bacon was hard and the other items looked dry and inedible. Only on one of the days was it satisfactory. There were coach parties in the hotel, who were obviously getting priority over the individual guests and we were not the only couples to notice this. On the plus side at just over £75 per night for bed and breakfast, the hotel was cheaper than a Travelodge. The open areas were clean and well furnished and its in a good location with ample parking at the rear with lifts to all floors.

Rooms small, and basic. A bit dated, most hotels nowadays have larger beds than the standard double, this hotel doesn’t. Food acceptable, but again dated. Until last week, i hadn’t had a banana split for a sweet since the 70’s ! Although the location of this hotel is within easy reach of the railway stn, it needs bringing into present day standards

Our room was very small. The bed was like a put up bed. Great big chip out of the corner of the wall. Awful view of a flat roof and car park. Coffee mugs that needed a good bleaching. No spoons, only 2 wooden stirrers, like you get at a Costa coffee. Couldn't get on the WiFi most of the time. Notice saying that you will be charged £30 if evidence of food found in the room. Only the last 3 or 4 bits of the toilet roll left on the holder and a spare when we arrived, had to ask for another. Breakfast served between 8.30am and 9.30am very poor breakfast. Very crowded dining room, due to packing everyone in over only one hour! You can tell the staff are under pressure as they seem unhappy! It was the only hotel along the ***** with a vacancies sign on a bank hol ...that tells you something! NOTE TO MANAGEMENT - Change all this....make it a nicer place. It should be for the price!!! We stay in Llandudno at least 4 or 5 times a year and pay £100 to £200 per night and for the price it should be much better, it's the worst place we have stayed over 20years of visiting many hotels and b&b's there. IMPROVE! REINVEST! Just no love in the place, Very odd the variation in reviews when this is truly an honest one

Stayed at The Kensington for 4 nights as part of a coach party. Our room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and lightly serviced daily (ie beds made, clean cups and tea bags etc replenished). We asked for a fan and one was duly brought to our room within minutes. Breakfast and evening meal was included in our package and we found the variety, quality, presentation and quantity of food excellent. The staff were all very helpful. Our two waiters for the duration of our stay (ashamed to say we didn't get their names) were absolute superstars. Whatever you're paying those two guys, pay them more, they're so worth it!!

We were on a five day coach trip with GB Tours. We had a comfortable sea view room No. 226 on the second floor with lovely views around Llandudno Bay. All the staff at the Kensington Hotel were very good, being helpful and friendly and the food was delicious and plentiful. A very pleasant stay.

Been here several times lovely friendly staff nothing too much trouble. Lovely clean bar area reasonably priced. Breakfasts are lovely. Rooms are nice overall clean tidy lovely comfy linen and towels could do with a bit of an update in rooms tlc and a more detailed clean. Will always definitely come back as this hotel is hardly available !

We stayed in the Kensington as part of a coach party. We found the rooms to be clean and warm and serviced every day, unlike some hotels who only do it by request. Our towels were also changed when required. We had a front facing room with a nice view of the sea and the sea gulls .The hotel does not have Aircon so the rooms can get a bit warm on a hot day. We found the staff helpful and friendly and the food to be of a acceptable standard. There seemed to be a bit off disharmony in the dining room where you pre-ordered the day before then at meal time the staff were asking you what you had ordered. . I use a mobility scooter and I found there is no front door access for scooters or wheelchairs ,which may inconvenience anyone with mobility problems. They do not allow scooters in the building so mine had to be parked under a awning open to the car park, but all in all I would stay again and would recommend it to others.
