Yueshang Mountain Viewing Courtyard

The location is fantastic, just a few minutes' walk from the Big Water Wheel. Lion Mountain offers incredibly fresh air and stunning panoramic views of the entire ancient town. Upon arrival, the host immediately helped us with our luggage; they were exceptionally kind. The guesthouse's courtyard is wonderfully quiet, making it ideal for both groups of friends and couples.

The absolute highlight of my Lijiang trip was undoubtedly staying at 'Yueshang Rizhao Jinshan Designer Panorama Guesthouse'! The views, service, and attention to detail all completely exceeded my expectations – I simply have to rave about it! Stunning Views: Golden Mountain Right from Your Bed We booked the 'Mountain View Deluxe Room,' and every morning, as soon as we drew back the curtains, the magnificent spectacle of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain's 'Golden Mountain' phenomenon slowly unfolded before our eyes. There was no need to jostle with crowds at a viewing platform; we privately savored this awe-inspiring sight from our room with a hot cup of tea. It was so romantic it left us speechless! In the evenings, the snow-capped peaks reflecting the sunset glow were equally picturesque, like a beautiful painting. Excellent Location: Tranquility Amidst the Bustle The guesthouse is perched atop Lion Mountain, adjacent to the Wangu Tower scenic area, offering expansive views. While it does require a short uphill walk, Sifang Street is just a 5-minute stroll away, making exploration of the ancient town incredibly convenient. More importantly, despite its central location within the old town, it remains wonderfully quiet and peaceful, ensuring a truly restful night's sleep. Exceptional, Personalized Service: A True Home Away From Home Immediately after booking, a dedicated butler contacted us, offering detailed transportation advice. Because we had a lot of luggage, the owner himself came down the mountain to pick us up and helped carry our bags all the way (dragging suitcases on the ancient town's cobblestone paths is indeed quite a challenge!). For breakfast each morning, a lovely auntie freshly prepared rice noodles and eggs – simple, yet incredibly heartwarming. Stylish Design Meets Modern Comfort The guesthouse underwent a fresh renovation in 2023, featuring a strong minimalist design aesthetic subtly infused with ethnic elements. We particularly loved the public viewing terrace on the third floor, which offers panoramic vistas of the entire Lijiang Ancient Town – ideal for taking photos, enjoying a cup of tea, or simply unwinding. The rooms are spotlessly clean, equipped with smart facilities, and incredibly comfortable.

Our room was incredibly comfortable and spotless. We loved it so much that we extended our stay by an extra day. The overall environment was also very pleasant, with really lovely decor. The cleaning staff were very accommodating; a quick mention about running out of tissues would have them replenished instantly. Breakfast might have looked light, but it was surprisingly flavorful and delicious, and they even offered blanched meat. We made sure to wake up early for it every day. Even when we checked out, they waited until after we finished breakfast, and then gave each of us a healthy egg for our journey. There's also a lovely viewing terrace on the second floor – the owner specifically pointed out that you can get fantastic views of Lijiang from there. It was truly relaxing to just sit, enjoy the breeze, and sip coffee. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, assisting us with our luggage both upon arrival and departure. He also gave us excellent recommendations on places to visit, where to find picturesque spots for photos, delicious local eateries, and the best places to buy souvenirs. When he saw the sky looked like rain, he even thoughtfully offered us umbrellas. It was genuinely a wonderful experience with truly excellent service. If we ever return to Lijiang, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Returning to Lijiang Old Town after a few years, I once again chose Yu Shang, the same place I stayed previously. The scenery was just as I remembered, and the beautiful courtyard views were still breathtaking. If you drive and park at the top of the hill, unloading luggage is incredibly convenient! Sifang Street is just a ten-minute walk away.
