Lijiang isn't a very large city, and many attractions are just a short 3km taxi ride away, making transportation quite convenient. The hotel is brand new, though there was a faint lingering smell, likely from the new decor. The facilities are also new, large, and spacious. They provided 4 bottles of water and a humidifier (which I didn't use). The air conditioning worked great, and the soundproofing was pretty good. However, the bathroom had a severe leaking problem. After showering, water would seep out onto the floor, drenching the sink and toilet areas. The poor sealing made it very easy to slip on the disposable slippers. I was too lazy to ask for a room change, as I suspected another room might have the same problem. The shower itself was even more problematic. When I turned on the overhead (rain) shower, it sprayed directly upwards onto the light/heater fixture – thankfully, there was no electrical short! I quickly turned it off. Moreover, the shower water temperature was highly unstable, alternating between scalding hot and freezing cold, with inconsistent water pressure. I suspect these issues aren't new, and the hotel must surely be aware of them, so I didn't feel the need to bother reporting it. This is simply my honest review. Lijiang is a beautiful city.

The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and very helpful with recommendations for local dining and entertainment – truly excellent service! The hotel's location is super convenient, just about a ten-minute walk from the 'Big Water Wheel'. There are also plenty of highly-rated restaurants in the area. Parking was a breeze, right at the entrance. Overall, a fantastic stay.

The most pleasant surprise during this stay was the hotel's impeccable cleanliness, which was truly reassuring. There wasn't a speck of dust to be seen in the room; the desktop and nightstands felt perfectly clean, with no sticky residue. The bathroom was particularly impressive. The toilet seat and sink edges were immaculately wiped, there was no unpleasant odor, and the floor was dry and non-slip. The facilities were also excellently maintained. Hot water was quick and consistent, the air conditioning ran quietly, and the toiletries were well-packaged, instilling confidence in their use. Overall, it didn't feel like a superficial clean-up; rather, it was a consistently maintained state of pristine tidiness. I had a very comfortable stay and will definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit.

The room is quite spacious, and the two large beds are perfect for families with two children. Although it's a guesthouse-style hotel, you can tell a lot of thought went into its design and decor. The staff at the front desk and coffee bar were very welcoming and friendly, offering complimentary coffee and tea. They provide washing machines and dryers, though you might expect a wait during peak hours, and the dryer can be a bit slow. Its location is excellent – not far from the ancient city yet away from the noise, and with a street full of barbecue restaurants right across, dining is incredibly convenient. However, the bathroom and toilet were a bit small, especially the sink. It's the smallest I've ever encountered in a hotel, so tiny you couldn't even fit a collapsible basin in it! 😂 This felt quite disproportionate compared to the spaciousness of the main room. Perhaps due to high occupancy, the wear and tear on the walls and floors was quite noticeable. Additionally, the showerhead was leaking. I hope the owner can address these maintenance issues.

Our family was on a road trip, and the hotel's parking lot, conveniently located right by the entrance, was a huge plus. It's very close to Lijiang Old Town, just a 15-minute walk to the Big Water Wheel. This meant we didn't have to deal with the hassle of finding parking within the Old Town, unlike previous visits. It was super convenient for exploring sights and trying local snacks. We got to enjoy the lively atmosphere of the Old Town without the inconvenience of its traffic issues. We booked two rooms and stayed for two nights, and our whole stay was seamless. We'll definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit.

As a first-time visitor to Lijiang searching for a hotel, Shy Hotel turned out to be a real hidden gem. Its location is super convenient; a taxi from the high-speed rail station takes you directly to the hotel's entrance. The surrounding area is wonderfully quiet, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The rooms are exceptionally clean, spotlessly maintained every day. They feature spacious desks and large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The soundproofing is also quite good. Getting around is incredibly easy; Lijiang Ancient Town is just a short walk away, saving you the hassle of queuing for taxis. Plus, with 24-hour convenience stores and breakfast shops nearby, grabbing essentials or a bite to eat is never an issue. The amenities are also very well-thought-out: the air conditioning heats and cools quickly, the Wi-Fi is strong and reliable, hot water is available 24/7, and the lighting is soft and gentle on the eyes. The hotel breakfast was excellent too, offering a wide variety of options, including local specialty Yunnan rice noodles. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Overall, my experience during this stay was truly wonderful, and I would definitely recommend it to friends!
