"You get the feeling you are in the country as two cows are on the field opposite the hostel. I liked the lady in the reception. They have a bar and play loud music the whole evening which I think is wrong while the spot the hostel is in is in a peaceful area. There a few amazing local little restaurants in the small lanes close to the hostel no need to go to the restaurants on the main road. Breakfast was very nice, scrambled eggs, toast, jam and butter, coffee or tea. Great you get a cubicle with a curtain so you have a little room."

"The host Didi and his wife were very helpful! Explained everything about Langkawi and answered all of our questions. Nice breakfast. Also want to mention strategic location of this Lodge since it’s almost close to everything useful on the island: airport, beaches in the east with some nice restaurants (seafood in particular) and duty free shops as well as beaches in the north (we liked Skull beach very much) and skybridge entertainment. So surely I recommend Ocean Lodge!"

"Great experience in Datai Langkawi. The best resort hotel in Langkawi or in Malaysia i would say. Nice atmosphere if you like to be in a quiet and serene place. Great food and great hospitality. A special shoutout to Hafizam for the guest attending service and Gaurav from the The Dining. Also to the Botanists Ms Ezy. Will come back for sure!"

"We recently spent 4 days and 3 nights at St. Regis Langkawi, and while the overall experience was pleasant, there were areas that could definitely be improved, especially considering the premium price point. Butler Service: While St. Regis is known for its signature butler service, our experience left us underwhelmed. We only met the butler in person twice throughout the stay, and even during check-out, no assistance was provided. It didn’t feel like a true “butler service” experience at all. Perhaps the hotel should reassess how they define and deliver this service to meet guest expectations. Valet Parking & Buggy Service: On a positive note, the valet and buggy services were excellent—efficient, friendly, and professional. The team handling this part of the hospitality really stood out. Breakfast: The breakfast spread was decent but honestly did not justify the price we paid. Some items were disappointing—like the congee, which was served cold, and the pre-fried noodles, which were dry and lacked flavor. Additionally, if you are vegetarian, I would strongly recommend informing the hotel in advance during your booking. Otherwise, you might be better off opting for a no-breakfast package, as the vegetarian selection is quite limited. Room & Housekeeping: The room itself was very comfortable, and the turn-down service each evening was well-executed, adding a nice touch to the overall stay. Overall Impression: St. Regis Langkawi offers a beautiful environment, comfortable accommodation, and standout valet/buggy services. However, for a luxury resort, the butler service didn’t meet expectations, and the food & beverage offerings, especially breakfast, could use significant improvement. With some adjustments in these key areas, the experience could truly match the brand’s luxury reputation."

"The hotel really nice and highly recommended. About ten minutes drive from airport. Plenty of free parking and convenience stores within walking distance. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Will revisit the hotel in next trip to Langkawi."

"Everything was perfect. Plenty of restaurants , very helpful staff very good breakfast This was my 3rd time to Berjaya Hotel and Resort before it was 4 star hotel now they have upgraded to the 5* Hotel & Resort. I like the rainforest chalets are very relaxable in a jungle itself. I request them if they can put extra handle shower or a small tap because sometimes you need to wash only feet, its not good to use the ceiling shower and get wet all body.,"

"Lovely hotel. The rooms are spacious with a huge bed - a size that I’ve never seen before! The shower strength is amazing, with a filtered tap for filtered water. The staff are amazing and helpful. I’ve read some comments that said the breakfast didn’t have enough variety. I would disagree. The breakfast is plentiful with lots of different options. Their afternoon tea is worth the price too. The location is perfect. A few mins walk to cenang beach right where all the entertainment is. The underwater world is around the corner with plentiful shops and restaurants to eat from."

While the building is quite old and could use better maintenance, the friendly and helpful staff make up for it with good service. For the price, it’s a decent value — especially for budget-conscious travelers who prioritize location over luxury. Just don’t expect modern amenities or a freshly renovated space."

"The room was clean and tidy, the staff was very enthusiastic, and it was very quiet. It was a good place to relax, definitely beyond my expectations. The only thing I was a little worried about was that stray dogs appeared from time to time on the beach, and it seemed that the whole town was like this. Although there was no behavior that hurt people, families with children still need to pay attention."
