"Excellent hotel in the heart of Chaweng! The location is super convenient – Central Festival, shops, cafes, restaurants, and the beach are all nearby.
For the price, it's one of the best options on Samui. The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable. A big bonus is being able to use the secure parking at Central Festival, which is really handy if you're traveling by car or scooter.
There's a good co-working space for getting work done, an on-site cafe, and a swimming pool. The vibe is modern and youthful.
The only downside I can mention is the absence of a toothbrush and toothpaste in the room, which even more budget-friendly hotels usually provide.
Otherwise, everything is great. Excellent value for money, quality, and location. I would gladly stay here again!"
"Check-in was prompt, and I got the room I booked. However, I had to walk quite a distance to reach it because guests staying long-term (monthly rentals) occupy the closer rooms, meaning those staying for just one or two nights are assigned rooms further away. This isn't ideal for the elderly. The room itself was nice, but the wooden furniture and fittings were starting to show their age. The air conditioning worked well. In the bathroom, there was no screen or divider, so it was visible from the bedroom. The TV didn't work at all during my two-night stay as there was no signal. Breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade sausages. The restaurant had a beautiful view, as did the swimming pool, but the beach right in front of the hotel wasn't usable; you had to walk to the side of the property. There's no dedicated parking for cars; you have to park on the roadside, which is a hilly, winding road, so you need to be very careful."
"The hotel is clean, despite of its old-fashioned look. The room is comfortable (but outside noise comes in easily). The only downside is I gotthe room on building 3 and there's no lift in the building and my room was on the 4th fl. So I needed to carry my luggage up all the way by myself. If you would like to book and have big luggages, you may need to reconsider (or request for the lower floor.) I'm not sure whether there is a lift available in its other buildings."
"The location is really great, walking distance to the beach and plenty of nearby places to eat. The hotel itself serves as a good base, provides all of the essentials. The room size is decent and clean. I did find the breakfast assortment to be a little basic and some of the dishes and cutlery didnt feel the cleanest. But overall I enjoyed the stay and added a few extra nights due to the great location."
"This is a superb hotel in Koh Samui, with direct beach access and a second, quiet building facing the lake. We stayed in a cozy, clean room across the road with a view of the lake, a beautiful tree, and squirrels. Various birds were in the tree outside our window. Along the lake, there were joggers and people walking their dogs. It was so peaceful and the view was tranquil. The window didn't open, but on the bright side, there were no mosquitoes. The hotel breakfasts were excellent. The most delightful part was that the breakfast staff, without any prompting, wished me a happy birthday and presented me with a mini-cake and a candle. It was a very thoughtful gesture. Housekeeping was good, and the linens were clean and fresh. The reception staff were always on duty and very helpful. The beach bar always had a good selection of food and drinks, served by positive staff. The hotel has its own sun loungers and umbrellas, and they weren't all occupied. The pools are great, both by the sea and in the second building. Thank you to the hotel for all their efforts!"
"This is the 4th time I’ve stayed here and easily my least enjoyable time.
Staff are still friendly and helpful, work hard to keep rooms clean and grounds pretty.
Room has powerful air conditioning to keep cold despite the heat.
Beds had damp sheets due to humidity. Shower had issues both with pressure (sometimes none at all) and temperature (bursts of scalding water).
Pool/bar area is under construction so there are banging noises throughout the day. When finished, it hopefully returns to its peaceful state as the pool area is beautiful.
Drinks (cocktails) were comparatively expensive and watered down.
With family that preferred to rest and socialize on the stoop of the ground floor room, uncomfortable furniture there could use some upgrading."
"It's clean, cheap, spacious and has everything you need. I don't really care that many things look old. The bed is still comfortable and the AC works well. I think the shower runs hot and cold. It isn't consistent."
"This place has it all: accommodation, a cafe, and a bar. It's right on the beach with a great atmosphere and beautiful views of the boats docked nearby. Planes fly by constantly, which is cool. The staff are attentive, and the air conditioning is super cold! In the morning, a cute cat even comes out to greet guests."
"We had a wonderful stay at Baan Chaweng Beach Resort & Spa and are leaving with a very positive impression.
This is a 3-star hotel, so it’s not luxury or ultra-modern, and some parts feel a bit dated—but everything is kept in absolutely spotless condition. The cleanliness really stands out. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bedsheets were fresh and perfectly maintained.
What truly makes this place special is the service. The staff are incredible—friendly, helpful, and always going above and beyond. The level of care and attention we received was honestly exceptional and rare to find.
The location is perfect—right on a beautiful beach and in the center of Chaweng, which makes everything very convenient.
We didn’t try the hotel food as we keep kosher and only had fruits, so we can’t comment on that.
Also worth mentioning: there’s no real need to pay extra for higher-category rooms. The basic rooms in the main building are spacious, comfortable, and offer everything you need.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Amazing beach, outstanding service, and exceptional cleanliness. Highly recommended!"

Great
GGuest UserThey are calling themselves a wellness hotel and they are! The staff are very nice and attentive to the details. There are interesting sessions to attend during your stay and you will love it. The breakfast options were great and I enjoyed them so much while I stayed. The hotel provided a shuttle bus to central mall in case you don't drive. I won't recommend to walk from the main road to the hotel. I want to highlight the gym here that people will love and one more thing the hotel won't accept the customer under 16 years old.
TTutti.ToeteeReview: A Beautiful, Design-Led Oasis in Fisherman’s Village
We recently stayed at the Hansar Samui, and it is truly a beautiful property with a thoughtful design. The location is perfect—just a short, pleasant stroll away from Fisherman’s Village, making it easy to explore the local area while still feeling like you have a quiet retreat to return to.
The Highlights
Dining Experience: The breakfast was a standout. I particularly appreciated having eggs made fresh to order; there is nothing worse than pre-cooked, rubbery eggs left under heat lamps, so this was a huge bonus for me.
The Vibe: The swimming pool is lovely, and the beach is kept very clean. The hotel maintains a relaxed atmosphere, complemented by a great selection of background music.
Service & Little Touches: The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. I loved the ”turn-down” service around 5:00 PM, where housekeeping brought little chocolates and water—an adorable touch that made us feel looked after.
Facilities: The gym is clean and well-maintained. Crucially for those working remotely, the Wi-Fi was excellent and reliable enough for me to take Zoom meetings without any issues.
Room Design: The rooms are beautifully decorated with stunning balconies and views. The bathroom was a highlight, especially the large rainfall shower.
Room Comfort & Maintenance
We did have a significant issue with the bed. The mattresses are very soft, which didn't suit us at all as my husband has a bad back. It made sleeping quite difficult. However, the staff were wonderful and tried their best to accommodate us; they helped remove the mattress so we could sleep on the wooden base with just the mattress topper. While not ”luxury” comfort, it was much better for his back than the soft mattress.
We also had a few issues with a temperamental toilet flush, but to the hotel's credit, maintenance was very prompt in coming to fix it each time.
Dining & Logistics
We had dinner at the restaurant one evening, ordering the Massaman curry and Chicken Panang. While the food was edible, it was just ”okay”—we were perhaps expecting a bit more given how high the quality of breakfast was. That said, the view from the restaurant in the evening is spectacular, and they occasionally have lovely entertainment.
One small hiccup occurred when we booked a taxi through the hotel to take us to the pier for our trip to Koh Phangan. The driver unfortunately dropped us at the wrong port. We had to quickly catch a Grab to the correct one, but luckily we made it just in time for our ferry.
Overall
Despite a few minor glitches, this was a wonderful stay. The aesthetic of the hotel is gorgeous, and the professionalism of the staff ensures that any issues are handled quickly. I would definitely recommend Hansar for anyone looking for a stylish and relaxed stay in Samui!
IIRENA_BORODINAThe hotel is quite old, but it has beautiful grounds and lush, tropical plants. The breakfasts are decent, the pools are clean, and the staff is attentive. The squirrels near the restaurant are adorable! The sea and beach are simply stunning, and there were always enough sun loungers. The plumbing in the room was fine.
Now for the downsides: The sun loungers and their mattresses are very old. The bed linen also looks quite worn. The room is a bit dark, and the air conditioning blows directly onto the beds, making it impossible to sleep with it on. The dishes in the restaurant are also dated, which was unpleasant. There's also not enough lighting in the evenings, even on the hotel grounds. On my last day, it rained, and I slipped and fell on the tiles; luckily, I didn't break anything.
We stayed in room A06, which had direct pool access. However, even in these rooms, which are the furthest from the bar, you can still hear noise from the neighboring bar at night. If you're a light sleeper, this might be uncomfortable.
The planes weren't really an issue; they don't fly by that often.
I'd like to address parents separately: unsupervised children in the pool were behaving terribly – screaming, teasing, and swearing – all right outside our rooms. Their parents paid no attention, making it impossible to relax in our room or on the terrace.
Overall, though, I recommend the hotel because of its location and proximity to the sea.
DDejan507Our expectations were high and in the beginning it really seemed to be living up to them. First of all the staff is incredible - polite, smiling and helpful. The management was thoughtful and caring and the cleanliness was of the highest standard.
When trying to use the pool during the day you will find it's impossible. Thai heat simply makes it unbearable and there's absolutely no cover from the sun - in my opinion poor design of the pool area that should have been considered during construction.
Another thing is ordering a cocktail by the pool you get it in a plastic cup for water with decoration being a single piece of pineapple. Even the cheapest bars I used to visit would try harder to decorate the cocktail and in my opinion for the price we paid here it definitely shouldn't be served like this. Just seems like low value for money - same goes for the restaurant: We were told there was a barbecue event at the beach but actually it was only the normal menu of the restaurant just like every other day - price is simply too high for the presentation of the food which was just average.
Breakfast was also underwhelming and a huge issue for me was the taste of the coffee! I don't know if it's due to desalinated sea water used as drinking water but americano had a horrible salty taste that was impossible to drink. In my opinion bottleded water must be used for the espresso machine because as such it is undrinkable.
Finally the location of the resort itself isn't the best, the beach is tiny and rocky and to get anywhere you need to be driven in a buggy which you need to book and then wait. Many times I've witnessed peaople frustrated and give up on waiting for it and walk instead, as we done a few times also.
Unfortunately overall I wouldn't plan on returning again even though the staff is exceptional.
TTyler Van ZylMe and my partner had the most incredible time at Silavadee! After such a long flight, we loved the welcome drink amenities including private beach and the endlessly helpful staff. Nothing was too much to ask. The included breakfast was one of the best I have ever had at a hotel in my life. The choice of food including champagne, freshly squeezed orange juice and extensive À la carte menu were incredible touches. I would highly recommend this hotel for a romantic holiday, or was mainly couples and it had a nice vibe. The free shuttle to Chaweng beach was perfect and meant we could go and grab dinner on the strip and then get the luxury minibus back.
Honestly, this was the best hotel I have ever stayed at and would love to return soon!

NNaMa7The hotel is very old. There's almost no grounds. It consists of a main building and bungalows with a bit of greenery. The pool smelled strongly of chlorine, so we didn't go in. It's too small for swimming anyway.
Room: Partially renovated with a huge, modern TV. However, the bathroom is long overdue for a renovation – the shower is rusty, the faucets are terrible, and the shower curtain has turned yellow at the bottom from rust! The balcony is nice, but the neighbors are so close it feels uncomfortable.
The breakfast was good, with plenty of options.
The sea, though, is wonderful! The entry is very quick, the water is clear, and the jet skis aren't directly in front of the hotel.
Cafes and shops are right outside the exit. Lotus Supermarket is about 700 meters away; they have a good and inexpensive food court, and the prices in the supermarket are the cheapest.
LLele WiriThe hotel was excellent We had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. It is absolutely perfect for families. The kids’ playrooms are thoughtfully designed with so many options for all ages, which made our children incredibly happy and engaged throughout the stay.
The spa area and sauna are outstanding, beautifully maintained and deeply relaxing. Even though there was a huge conference taking place during our visit, everything felt perfectly organized and calm. The level of management was truly impressive.
A very special thank you to Boss Concierge, who went above and beyond for us. He helped us retrieve a forgotten bag with such efficiency and genuine care. What could have been a stressful situation was handled smoothly and professionally, and we felt completely supported throughout.
The entire staff was kind, attentive, and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, we felt truly taken care of.
Highly recommended. We will absolutely return
GGinny_Beautiful looking hotel, quiet and relaxed but also just a short scooter ride away from Fisherman’s village.
For everyone confused about the beach situation: there is a long bit of beach by the hotel. The hotel itseld doesn’t have beds on the beach itself, however, the beds are just above and around the pool area that overlooks the beach. If you wanna lay on the beach, in the morning there is high tide so you won’t be having much sand to lay on, still good for a swim. In the afternoon/evening there is low tide so you can put your towel down easily.
LlavenderI stayed at Dara for all four days of my Samui trip and had many pleasant surprises. The hotel facilities are great, the room is very comfortable, and the service is excellent and easy to communicate with. It offers great value for money. The breakfast selection is also good, with salads, fried rice, fruits, yogurt, bread, and even stir-fries – the beef was especially delicious. Although the hotel is on a public beach, it's right on the doorstep. Just a few steps down from the hotel restaurant, and you're on the beach. In the evening, enjoying dinner by the beach at the hotel, the food tasted great, and the romantic ambiance was absolutely perfect.
ไไป•กับ•ไฟนอลIt is a very good place to relax, quiet, peaceful, really relaxing. The accommodation is beautiful, the sunlight, the lights, the air conditioning is cool, everything is good. If I go to Samui again, I will definitely come back to stay again.
