"Not a bad hotel, but it's definitely geared more towards fishing. The rooms were cleaned every day, and the pool was really great – super clean. There were lovely cats around, two or three families worth, with lots of kittens, which created a nice, pleasant atmosphere. There are plenty of cheap Thai restaurants nearby, but getting anywhere else (like Chaweng or Lamai) takes at least 20+ minutes by moped. The breakfasts were laughable; if anyone actually paid for them, I'd feel sorry for them. They're quite expensive for what you get. The quality isn't bad, but for this kind of hotel, it's genuinely ridiculous. Each guest gets to choose one dish from a menu. We stayed for a week, and by the fourth day, we were already getting tired of it. But then again, it depends on what you're looking for. Overall, I'd recommend it."

"We went to this hotel after reading many good reviews, but our opinion turned out to be quite different. The hotel is very old. The bungalow rooms are cozy, and the bathroom has been renovated. There are many windows, but the blinds are incredibly inconvenient to open. Since the bungalows are by paths where people walk by, and everything is visible with the lights on, closing them in the evening and opening them in the morning was a real struggle! They barely moved! Eventually, we just stopped opening them altogether, despite the lush greenery and beautiful views. Due to the abundant greenery (not landscaped, just trees and bushes), it's very humid, and the area doesn't get much breeze. This makes sunbathing difficult by the pools that are above sea level. Moreover, these pools only have about 6 sun loungers, not all with umbrellas, and the wooden deck has gaps where anything that falls through is lost forever! All the sun loungers everywhere are old, with saggy mesh. The sea is shallow at both high and low tide, making it hard to swim, and even harder to get into the water. Waist-deep is the maximum, or you have to walk a very, very long way. There are a lot of small stones, leaves, and grass at the bottom. We brought coral shoes, but had no desire to swim. Due to the rocky sandbar, the water doesn't fully refresh during low tide, leading to stagnant water with grass on the bottom. Breakfast is ordinary; it seems like everything you need for breakfast is there! There are no shops or cafes nearby. The closest 7/11 is over a kilometer walk, but that's not a cafe. Personally, we won't be returning here, and we don't understand the people who write glowing reviews! Maybe they just like the name? Yes, it's an expensive hotel chain, and the price for this hotel was very low – we now understand why!!! Overall, we stayed 2 nights and then moved to Chaweng Noi. Everything is great here now!"

"Good value for money, located in Lamai at a few minutes walk from the beach. Nice and clean, with bars and restaurants just nearby. Fantastic swimming pool which you can use even after they close the bar, and it seemed to me you could also use it late at night, at least there were no signs forbidding you to use it nor physical barriers. You have to pay a 1000 bahts deposit that you'll get back at check out of you haven't broken or disappeared anything. Recommended!"

"This hotel/resort was truly amazing. The view is unbeatable and the pool is amazing. You also get beach access (2min walk) and is a quite beach. You are around 15-18 minutes away from chewang area which makes it a perfect balance if you are looking for peace but also don’t want to be super far from the main things in the island. The room itself was amazing. We had an awesome sea view and the bed was nice. For the price, it was a reasonable room size and great amenities. The breakfast is the one thing I would say it’s less enjoyable. It was normal, nothing wow. The staff were nice and always willing to help with a big smile."

"We stayed at the hotel for a week, booking a room on the second floor with a sea view. However, due to the bar's roof, the sea wasn't visible; we had a pool view instead. The hotel itself is small and compact, located not far from the Grandpa and Grandma rocks, with a small street nearby offering souvenirs and cafes. The room wasn't very large, but the shower room with the toilet was spacious. There was a noticeable damp smell, though. Our room was equipped with a bed, air conditioning, a few tables, a chair, a large mirror (a rarity for Thailand!), a lighted cosmetic mirror, a wardrobe, a luggage rack, a fridge, a kettle, a tea set, and sachets of coffee, tea, and sugar. A welcome fruit plate was also provided. Beach towels were available, along with a large rubber beach bag, which was very convenient. Slippers and a full set of toiletries were included: cotton pads, cotton buds, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel, and hair conditioner. We dried our clothes either on the balcony or in the shower, and everything seemed to dry fine. There's a TV, and we found Russian videos on YouTube, so we weren't bored if we stayed in the room in the evenings. We were quite surprised by the lack of an iron, but it seems that ironing isn't common there, so not all hotels provide them. 7/11 stores are within walking distance, and prices are reasonable, though beer is cheaper by the pack at the Macro hypermarket. We had breakfast included, but didn't go every day. Breakfasts were decent; not super varied, but we never left hungry – everything tasted good. They served a fruit plate, a plate with cheese/butter/ham, and you could order either an omelet or scrambled eggs, with optional bacon and cheese. The coffee from the machine was quite strong, even with milk. There was always a crispy baguette, toast bread with a toaster, and a variety of fruits like rambutan, bananas, passion fruit, and watermelon (which varied daily). Yogurts, muesli, pastries, cookies, cucumbers, tomatoes, and leafy salad were also available. Getting to Lamai night market on foot takes almost an hour, by taxi it's about 200 baht, and walking directly along the beach takes about 25 minutes. There's a small food market towards the Red Temple, which also has live music and a small trampoline for kids. Prices there are dirt cheap. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The beach near the hotel has some rocks, but if you walk a bit to the left, there are fewer rocks and lots of fish. Crabs hang out among the rocks in the mornings. The hotel offers free paddleboards (SUPs) – we took them a couple of times – and also masks and snorkels. We only noticed the latter later, so we had already bought our own. There are dogs living at the hotel, but they are absolutely friendly, usually just chilling among the guests, and only bark at fishermen. No need to be afraid! We arrived before check-in time and had to wait a bit, but we were checked in on schedule. Overall, the hotel is quite good, but a bit far from the nightlife. If you're mobile, getting around the island won't be an issue. There were no Russians at first, then a couple and a man arrived. Primarily, Germans stay there. I give the hotel a solid four out of five stars and wish them prosperity! Thanks for the hospitality!"

"During the Chinese New Year, hotel prices were outrageous. I unexpectedly booked this hotel, which had very few Chinese guests, and the price was very reasonable. To my surprise, the rooms were quite good, spacious, and both rooms had small balconies. The hotel environment was also nice, with two swimming pools, one by the sea and one outside the villas. The rooms were generally clean, but the air conditioning hadn't been cleaned in a long time; you could see a layer of dust in the vents. The hotel breakfast was a bit disappointing, with not much choice or variety, and no kids' meals, which wasn't very friendly for picky eaters. The hotel is within walking distance of a local restaurant with good reviews (recommended on Xiaohongshu for beautiful sunset views). Although most staff didn't speak Chinese, they were very enthusiastic. Except for one male front desk staff member wearing glasses. When checking in, I mentioned my early flight and was advised to pre-order a breakfast box the day before. However, this staff member kept trying to get me to book a car (a private van costs 700, the hotel charges 1000). I said three times that I wanted to order breakfast, but he acted as if he didn't hear me. It wasn't until I said I wasn't booking a car and just wanted breakfast that he told me to go eat at the restaurant myself! He had a disdainful attitude throughout. I've been to so many countries and so many hotels, and this is the first time I've encountered such terrible service."

"I really liked this hotel. The location itself is great, and I truly felt relaxed during my stay. The breakfast was simple but tasty. It's very quiet here, and you can't hear any noise from neighboring establishments. I checked in in the evening and didn't immediately notice that the toilet cistern wasn't working quite right. However, I reported it the next morning, and they immediately moved me to another room, which was perfect. I really enjoyed the pools; everything was nice and clean. My room was also cleaned regularly. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience at the hotel!"

GGuest UserA warm welcome from the reception staff and they were nice enough to bring us and our bags up to our room, good thing too as the hills within the hotel rooms are very steep. Extremely nice room, beautiful infinity pool overlooking Koh Samui. The breakfast is excellent with many choices you order off the menu rather than the traditional buffet style. The gym was also well equipt for a light workout. The only thing I will say is that this hotel is slightly difficult to access if you are on foot. Its not like you can take a 5 minute stroll to the main high street, its a long windy road with lots of hills and sharp turns, a car or scooter will be needed to get from the hotel to the town but aside from that its an excellent hotel and I would happily visit again.

TTutti.ToeteeReview: A Beautiful, Design-Led Oasis in Fisherman’s Village We recently stayed at the Hansar Samui, and it is truly a beautiful property with a thoughtful design. The location is perfect—just a short, pleasant stroll away from Fisherman’s Village, making it easy to explore the local area while still feeling like you have a quiet retreat to return to. The Highlights Dining Experience: The breakfast was a standout. I particularly appreciated having eggs made fresh to order; there is nothing worse than pre-cooked, rubbery eggs left under heat lamps, so this was a huge bonus for me. The Vibe: The swimming pool is lovely, and the beach is kept very clean. The hotel maintains a relaxed atmosphere, complemented by a great selection of background music. Service & Little Touches: The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. I loved the ”turn-down” service around 5:00 PM, where housekeeping brought little chocolates and water—an adorable touch that made us feel looked after. Facilities: The gym is clean and well-maintained. Crucially for those working remotely, the Wi-Fi was excellent and reliable enough for me to take Zoom meetings without any issues. Room Design: The rooms are beautifully decorated with stunning balconies and views. The bathroom was a highlight, especially the large rainfall shower. Room Comfort & Maintenance We did have a significant issue with the bed. The mattresses are very soft, which didn't suit us at all as my husband has a bad back. It made sleeping quite difficult. However, the staff were wonderful and tried their best to accommodate us; they helped remove the mattress so we could sleep on the wooden base with just the mattress topper. While not ”luxury” comfort, it was much better for his back than the soft mattress. We also had a few issues with a temperamental toilet flush, but to the hotel's credit, maintenance was very prompt in coming to fix it each time. Dining & Logistics We had dinner at the restaurant one evening, ordering the Massaman curry and Chicken Panang. While the food was edible, it was just ”okay”—we were perhaps expecting a bit more given how high the quality of breakfast was. That said, the view from the restaurant in the evening is spectacular, and they occasionally have lovely entertainment. One small hiccup occurred when we booked a taxi through the hotel to take us to the pier for our trip to Koh Phangan. The driver unfortunately dropped us at the wrong port. We had to quickly catch a Grab to the correct one, but luckily we made it just in time for our ferry. Overall Despite a few minor glitches, this was a wonderful stay. The aesthetic of the hotel is gorgeous, and the professionalism of the staff ensures that any issues are handled quickly. I would definitely recommend Hansar for anyone looking for a stylish and relaxed stay in Samui!

DDejan507Our expectations were high and in the beginning it really seemed to be living up to them. First of all the staff is incredible - polite, smiling and helpful. The management was thoughtful and caring and the cleanliness was of the highest standard. When trying to use the pool during the day you will find it's impossible. Thai heat simply makes it unbearable and there's absolutely no cover from the sun - in my opinion poor design of the pool area that should have been considered during construction. Another thing is ordering a cocktail by the pool you get it in a plastic cup for water with decoration being a single piece of pineapple. Even the cheapest bars I used to visit would try harder to decorate the cocktail and in my opinion for the price we paid here it definitely shouldn't be served like this. Just seems like low value for money - same goes for the restaurant: We were told there was a barbecue event at the beach but actually it was only the normal menu of the restaurant just like every other day - price is simply too high for the presentation of the food which was just average. Breakfast was also underwhelming and a huge issue for me was the taste of the coffee! I don't know if it's due to desalinated sea water used as drinking water but americano had a horrible salty taste that was impossible to drink. In my opinion bottleded water must be used for the espresso machine because as such it is undrinkable. Finally the location of the resort itself isn't the best, the beach is tiny and rocky and to get anywhere you need to be driven in a buggy which you need to book and then wait. Many times I've witnessed peaople frustrated and give up on waiting for it and walk instead, as we done a few times also. Unfortunately overall I wouldn't plan on returning again even though the staff is exceptional.

TTyler Van ZylMe and my partner had the most incredible time at Silavadee! After such a long flight, we loved the welcome drink amenities including private beach and the endlessly helpful staff. Nothing was too much to ask. The included breakfast was one of the best I have ever had at a hotel in my life. The choice of food including champagne, freshly squeezed orange juice and extensive À la carte menu were incredible touches. I would highly recommend this hotel for a romantic holiday, or was mainly couples and it had a nice vibe. The free shuttle to Chaweng beach was perfect and meant we could go and grab dinner on the strip and then get the luxury minibus back. Honestly, this was the best hotel I have ever stayed at and would love to return soon! o

GGuest UserFirst of all, I'd like to extend a huge thank you to the hotel! I honestly didn't expect to have such a great vacation in Asia! 🥹 Let's start with the staff! I have to commend their perfect work! They do everything so quietly, you barely notice their presence! But they are definitely working! Always with pleasant smiles, greetings, and ready to help! 🥹 Regarding the rooms: we stayed as a family of 2 adults and 2 children (7 and 11 years old). We ran into some difficulties here. The family room didn't accommodate 4 people (although the room description said it would), so I had to contact Trip.com support! And you won't believe it! They reimbursed me for the difference the hotel charged for the extra bed. (In total, the hotel charged 1000 baht per day for accommodation + meals for the 7-year-old child). The room itself was very spacious, stylish, and comfortable! A huge balcony with a table and chairs! 🥹 The hotel also provides waffle bathrobes! I want to especially highlight the location! It's perfect! There's a huge night market nearby with European food! (Moms will understand), and Thai cafes are also available! The sea in this area in June is ideal. I specifically went to Chaweng to swim, but I liked it more here! There were enough sun loungers for everyone, even during peak times! The sand was cleaned! The beach was cleared of trash and the sand was raked! ❤️ Just a few more words about breakfast! I know how important this is for parents! The children could always find something to eat! A huge selection of fruits. Eggs in any form, muesli! They even made mashed potatoes (not from powder)! The only thing, as others have mentioned, is the excessive amount of chlorine in the pool! The smell was even noticeable outside. Perhaps the hotel should pay attention to this! Overall, I *highly* recommend it! I will definitely return! Oh! And the cleanliness! I was shocked! Perfectly clean!

GGuest UserGarrya Tongsai Bay Samui is one of those places that stays with you. What really makes the difference is the people. The service is excellent, but more importantly, it feels sincere. The staff are genuinely kind, always smiling, always present, and somehow they manage to make everything feel easy and natural. You never feel rushed or overlooked, just quietly taken care of. Special thanks to ”mamy” the fruit lady at breakfast that is a pure expression of joy and the Yoga and Muay Thai instructor. The facilities are beautiful and very well maintained, but without feeling stiff or overdesigned. Everything works, everything feels comfortable, and there’s a calmness to the whole place that makes you slow down almost without noticing. Rooms, pools, spa, restaurants, all of it feels thoughtfully done. The setting is something special. Surrounded by greenery and right on a peaceful bay, it feels private, quiet, and deeply connected to nature. You hear the sea, the wind in the trees, and very little else. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax. Nothing here feels forced or flashy. It’s just consistently good, warm, and balanced. A place you leave feeling better than when you arrived. Can't wait to be back to this special place.

LlavenderI stayed at Dara for all four days of my Samui trip and had many pleasant surprises. The hotel facilities are great, the room is very comfortable, and the service is excellent and easy to communicate with. It offers great value for money. The breakfast selection is also good, with salads, fried rice, fruits, yogurt, bread, and even stir-fries – the beef was especially delicious. Although the hotel is on a public beach, it's right on the doorstep. Just a few steps down from the hotel restaurant, and you're on the beach. In the evening, enjoying dinner by the beach at the hotel, the food tasted great, and the romantic ambiance was absolutely perfect.
