Anonymous UserA solid 3 star experience but not more than that. They say they offer bike courier pick up for your luggage from the train station, but I didn't get sent any information about how to book it, every time I tried to call I couldn't get through to a human, and when I eventually found an email address to contact about it, no one replied. We were put in a room on the very top floor right after the heat wave, the temperature up there was still so warm, could feel it going up in as we ascended the stairs, but I couldn't open the window in the room very much without bugs flying in. They provided a small fan but it didn't do much. Our room was cramped, not really anywhere to store your luggage and the bathroom's only surface space to put your things was a ledge above the toilet which I didn't like. On the other hand, all the people we spoke to at reception were friendly and helpful, the location was convenient and the pantry was appreciated.

Beautiful hotel only 10 minutes walk from the city centre
Our room was clean and cosy
In the room was hairdryer, iron and ironing board as well as tea/coffee facilities and an electric fan which was definitely needed with temps reaching 29 degrees 🥵
The outdoor area was stunning with lots of seating and little pods to dine in of an evening very pretty all lit up at night
All the staff were friendly and helpful
We will definitely return in the near future.

Located within a golf course, the hotel boasts a tranquil, peaceful, and comfortable environment with beautiful scenery. However, it's quite far from the city center, about a 30-minute drive from York's Old Town. If you're not traveling by car, it's not the best choice for accommodation. But if you have a car, it's an excellent option as parking is free.
The hotel has two restaurants with good food, but they are very expensive and the portions are small – typical fine dining. If you don't want to spend too much on food, it's best to eat in the city before entering the hotel.

Guest UserThe hotel has a great location, not far from the city center and attractions.
The front desk service was mediocre. We checked out early, but then received an email asking us to self-checkout, which was confusing.
A small amount of our deposit was deducted, but we didn't receive any receipt explaining why. Perhaps the snacks on the table were chargeable, but there was no clear pricing displayed.
Overall, the stay was average, and the service definitely wasn't worth nearly £200 a night.

A small villa, the room is clean and tidy, very warm and quiet, the service is very good and warm, we live on the 3rd floor, there is no elevator, the suitcase is the store to help get the room, parking is also convenient. The environment of Zhou is good, and it is convenient to travel. It takes 20 minutes to walk along the river to see the tourist attractions in the downtown area. Only breakfast is very expensive. Two nights a day is a pleasant experience.

The Milner York features a grand late-Victorian facade built from distinctive yellow Scarborough brick. Inside, the stunning entrance lobby showcases an ornate historical dome and elegant monochrome tiled flooring. The hotel's crown jewel is a sweeping, central iron staircase surrounded by high ceilings. Public lounges beautifully blend historic opulence with plush chesterfield sofas and herringbone wood floors. However, multiple guests note that the contemporary bedrooms are noticeably smaller in size. This compact room layout is especially apparent within the modern ”Sidings” annexe.

AlexanderZedAmazing location including a balcony over the river (from the hotel bar). The bedrooms were nicely decorated and in reasonable condition. There were no drawers for clothes and the wardrobe had no doors, there were just open shelves and open hanging rails with some coat hangers provided. There were several Yorkshire teabags and instant Nescafé coffee sticks (with sugar and milk) provided, and gourmet biscuits. The WiFi was fast. Plug sockets (including USB) were available by the bed but there were no sockets next to the bed. There is no air conditioning but fans are provided. The bathroom was in very poor condition with rust, mold, a very loud extractor fan and a light that took a long time to turn on. Water pressure was excellent however. Breakfast was a typical Full English buffet with sausages, bacon, mushrooms, scrambled eggs, tomato, fried bread and hash browns. Cereal and pastries were also available. You do need to reserve a breakfast time each day. My room was cleaned daily during my stay with tea/coffee/milk/biscuits replenished

We were very disappointed with the check-in experience. The hotel assigned us rooms in a wing where the air conditioning was not working. It appeared that the staff were already aware of the problem, as my friends and I seemed to be the only guests staying in that entire wing. Unfortunately, this happened during a heatwave, making the rooms unbearably hot and very uncomfortable.
I had to walk back to reception to request a room change. The staff initially offered to bring us a fan and said the hotel was fully booked, but that was not an acceptable solution in such extreme temperatures. After I insisted, my friends and I were finally moved to rooms with working air conditioning.
What made the situation even more confusing was that guests who checked in after us were assigned rooms on other floors with functioning air conditioning. That left us wondering why we had been placed in rooms with a known problem in the first place.
Guests should never be checked into rooms with a major maintenance issue like this, especially during a heatwave. While we appreciated that the hotel eventually moved us, the whole experience left us with serious doubts about how room allocations were handled —- is it because i booked via Trip.com ?

Guest UserThe location is excellent and the bed was comfortable. It was also very quiet at night so I had a good night’s sleep.
However, my check-in experience was disappointing. I arrived at around 5:30 pm and waited outside for more than 15 minutes. I rang the bell several times but no one answered. After I finally got inside, there was still no receptionist and I had to wait longer before I could check in.
The bathroom also needs more attention. After people showered, the floor was very wet and dirty and there was nothing available to clean or dry it.
Overall, the location and room were good, but the check-in process and bathroom cleanliness could definitely be improved.

Guest UserThe hotel is quite old and small. There's no elevator, so with luggage, you have to climb very narrow stairs. The room has no air conditioning, making it very hot in the summer. The toilet is also difficult to use; you have to press down with a lot of force. We booked a family room, and the extra bed was terrible – my child would sink into it while sleeping. For over 2,000, it's definitely not worth the price. The staff, however, were quite nice.
