This hotel exceeded my expectations. It offered great value for money, and the room was clean and odor-free, truly a non-smoking room. The bedding was soft and the pillows were comfortable. The bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, and the water pressure was excellent. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of options, all of which I enjoyed. The lobby was bright, and the bar offered complimentary coffee and lemon water, which was a nice touch. The front desk staff were quick to check me in, very friendly, polite, and even allowed for a late check-out. The hotel's location is also fantastic; K11 mall is just across the street, and the subway station is right next door, making it incredibly convenient. I highly recommend staying here!

The best thing about this hotel is its location. K11 is right next door, which was perfect since it rained a lot during the May Day holiday, making it inconvenient to go out. We spent most of our time at the mall, and when we got tired, we just popped back to the hotel for a rest. The breakfast was quite good too, especially the noodle soup and fresh orange juice. The front desk staff even gave my child an essential oil bracelet during check-in, which they absolutely loved. The hotel's exterior also looked pretty nice.
One minor point: they advertise 'special features' like a mini-bar and coffee, but it's just two bottles of mineral water, two packets of soda crackers, and capsule espresso. Honestly, it's no different from the standard complimentary items you get at any hotel nowadays. I initially thought it would be a mini-bar like in the Maldives. It's not about the value of the items, but there's really no need to highlight it as a special feature. 😂

Exceeded my expectations, HUAZHU Hotels really has something going on! The location is right at the Shekou Cruise Center, just a two-minute walk downstairs. The room layout is very compact; although not large, it feels spacious and never cramped. For some rooms not facing a window, you'll need to close the sheer curtains for privacy. The room was very quiet, and the bedding was super comfortable – I couldn't find a single fault. I'll definitely stay here again.

Cool stay in a cool hotel - or shall I say resodence. Feels very homy anyways, I am not sure if it was built originally as a hotel or as a group of dwellings but it retains the mice atmosphere of being lived in. Builidings date back to the begininngs of the Shekou special wconomic zone i think - on this subject don't miss the Shenzhen museum in Futian

The location is fantastic, right next to Sea World. It's just a short walk from Metro Line 12, and super convenient for catching a ferry to Hong Kong. Getting to the airport is also a breeze with no traffic.
Last time I stayed at Hotel Indigo, and this time at Hotel Indigo Express. Both brands have very clean rooms and offer excellent value for money. I'll definitely choose this place again next time.
The front desk staff were absolutely wonderful. They even provided scissors for opening a package. When I checked out, I accidentally left some clothes in the room, and the cleaning staff kindly put them aside for me. Huge thanks to them! Wishing everyone good luck and success in the Year of the Horse!

Stayed for a few nights during the New Year. I spent a long time choosing a sea-view room and this hotel offered great service. I even got upgraded from a mountain-and-sea view room to a quiet sea-view room.
The sea-view room truly lived up to expectations; what you see is what you get.
The mini-bar and the double afternoon tea buffet were also excellent.
The butler service was very attentive. They even recommended some good restaurants near Sea World. After a tiring afternoon of sightseeing, I returned to the hotel to rest, and they even delivered afternoon tea to my room, which was incredibly thoughtful! I'll definitely be back! ^_^

My stay was great! The front desk clerks were very attentive and polite. Despite a language barrier, they definitely went above and beyond to help me.
As for the room, it was very clean and well appointed. The room was also spacious, with separate areas for sleeping and eating or working. Plus, the bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, body lotion, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. This was very convenient.
Most importantly, my room had strong a/c. Shenzhen is very hot and humid so it’s important to me to have cool a/c in my hotel room. This hotel’s a/c worked well.
The hotel has a really good location. It’s a little tricky to find - the hotel is behind KFC and McDonald’s. However, the surrounding area has a lot of great restaurants. Plus, the Sea World subway station is right by the hotel.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The hotel is close to the subway station, has plenty of elevators, and the common areas are also great, which is very convenient. There's also the Shekou Market nearby. The front desk upgraded my room for free when I checked in, which was a nice surprise. The service was excellent; they were really quick to respond to my requests, even lending me a garment steamer. When I asked to change rooms, they quickly agreed. My only minor complaint is that the bedding wasn't very breathable.

MMasonmanThis stay was at the Intercity Hotel Futian Huanggang in Shenzhen. The room was comfortable, with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom, and the Huazhu TV cast screen feature was very convenient. The bed was just the right balance of soft and firm. The hotel service was excellent; the staff were friendly and promptly offered water upon arrival. The mini-fridge was stocked with Coke and dark beer, and the delivery robots for room service and takeout were efficient. Overall, it offered great value for money and a very good hotel experience. The breakfast selection was extensive, with plenty of cold dishes and a wide variety of hot food. I'd say it's among the best for this type of hotel, and I definitely enjoyed a hearty meal. The location is very convenient, situated in the central Futian area, close to the subway and train station, making it ideal for business travelers. It's also a good choice for tourists visiting Shenzhen, as most places are accessible by subway.
BBroAlanTapsThe room was clean and tidy, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The front desk service was excellent, and the location was super convenient. The room even had Xiao Du AI voice control, which was a nice touch. Chain hotels definitely offer quality assurance. Qiu Guo is always my top choice for a stay – highly recommended!
GGuest UserA perfect stay at the JW Marriott Shenzhen, all thanks to the professional assistance of Guest Services Executive Reina! Reina’s genuine smile and warm, generous service made a real difference. She handled check-in efficiently and thoroughly, proactively asking about my preferences and arranging the room accordingly – truly thoughtful. The room itself was spacious, exquisitely decorated with great style. The bedding was comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were excellent, making a relaxing bath super enjoyable. Throughout my stay, Reina provided attentive follow-up, promptly responding to and resolving all my inquiries and ad-hoc requests with full professionalism. The hotel’s overall environment is upscale, the service standards are high, and the breakfast offers a rich variety of quality options. A big shout-out to Reina – JW Marriott will definitely be my first choice for future trips!
GGuest UserPros
- Both our rooms at level 10 were relatively close to each other facing the Wong Tee Plaza. It might be a way of the said front desk staff allocating these rooms to us to compensate for our unpleasant check in experience (see below). Spectacular views and we managed to spectate the night light show on Saturday without needing to go to the Civic Centre.
- Facilities are great including 24-hour well equipped gym and sauna (best of all hotels in China we experienced so far).
- Rooms are relatively new and fully equipped with necessities, has a dyson air dryer, Toto automatic toilet, automated curtains and a steamer to iron the clothes.
- Breakfast had a lot of varieties to offer (personally loved the oden and sushi section), good service too.
- Housekeeping was amazing. As I was leaving my room, Joy asked if we were interested in their laundry services and we declined as we do not have much laundry to do.
After the first day of housekeeping, she noticed we did simple laundry (1-2 pieces of undergarment) and offered us a complimentary mini laundry detergent. We appreciate her thoughtfulness despite the fact that we initially declined her services.
- Check out was relatively seamless, I believe it was the front office manager that managed our check out and explained the deposit refund procedures accordingly.
- Concierge was decent too as they suggested we are better off getting a Didi to transfer our move to our next destination, and helped us load our bags to the Didi.
Cons
The only downside experience was check in. We requested if it would be possible to have interconnecting rooms (all good if not, at least as close to each other as possible within the same floor). We were advised that given interconnecting rooms are not available for the same type of rooms:
1.The staff provided an offer (upgrade to one of the bigger rooms that has interconnecting room with free 3 days hotel breakfast for 2 out of 4 pax). The quote/offer was outside of our budget hence we declined the offer and we just accept our original booking via Trip.com with no interconnecting rooms.
2.After we declined, the staff informed us that she miscalculated the price (from RMB 31k down to RMB 20k) for the same offer. This is very odd/confusing to us especially with the price difference due to miscalculation, and she was trying to push this offer to us again which we declined. At this point, whatever price quoted to us of this offer lost its credibility and we proceeded to stick to our original booking.
3.The staff said that she will notify us via WeChat (she added us on WeChat) once the room is ready. Understood at that time it was before check in time (i.e. before 3pm) hence we decided to grab lunch and come back after the check in time.
It was past 3pm and we heard nothing from her upon returning to hotel and had to approach the front desk to ask for an update. The same staff managed to provide us key card for one of the rooms while the other room is still not ready (it was past 3:20pm at that time). She said that she will arrange one of her coworkers to deliver the keycards to us once that other room is ready. Around 3:50-4:20pm, we heard nothing (I walked past the other room and noted the housekeeping has finished cleaning up the room and left). I had to go to the front desk to request an update and eventually obtained the keycard.
I am not sure if the above stems from the individual's motivation or if this is part of the hotel's standard procedure to aggressively upsell (even if we already said no) or if the front desk is pressured to meet monthly KPIs, but that left us an unpleasant check in experience and obviously did not represent the check in hospitality standards of the hotel itself.
Aside from the check in, we loved everything hence we had to give 4 out of 5.
GGuest UserI was unexpectedly stranded at Shenzhen North (Shenzhenbei) during the busy holiday season and urgently needed a place to stay. After comparing several listings on Trip.com, this hostel stood out based on its reviews, and it fully lived up to my expectations.
The photos are accurate and reflect the property exactly as it is. The host prepared the bed sheets and pillowcases right in front of me, which immediately reassured me about the cleanliness. Everything was spotless and well maintained. Cleanliness is one of my top priorities when choosing accommodation because I value my health, and I felt completely comfortable staying here. I saw no pests or anything unhygienic, so if you’re concerned about that, you can rest easy.
The host speaks basic English and was very welcoming. Since I had just traveled from Hong Kong Airport to Shenzhen North, he even kindly offered to show me around the area. There are plenty of food options nearby, I enjoyed Lanzhou noodles and stinky tofu just steps from the building.
For clarification, the hostel is located inside an apartment building and operates in a dorm-style setup. Shoes are removed at the entrance, and guest slippers are provided. There is a comfortable common area with a sofa and dining table, free drinking water, and complimentary toiletries including a toothbrush and disposable towel, which was especially helpful since I had forgotten to pack one. The bathroom is modern and equipped with a Western-style sit-down toilet.
Each bed has its own privacy curtain and personal light, which I appreciated. There are also power outlets conveniently located at each bed. Wi-Fi worked smoothly without any issues, and free laundry is available, which is a great bonus for travelers.
There are designated quiet hours, so you can sleep comfortably. During my stay, it was peaceful and no one snored. The host even asked whether I snore, which shows he is considerate of all guests.
The other guests were polite and respectful. I was the only foreigner staying there, and the rest were Chinese travelers who were likely in the same situation, unable to secure train tickets that night. The property is non-smoking, which I also appreciated.
The only minor downside is for taller guests. I am 183 cm (6 ft), and I had to curl up slightly since the bed length appears to be around 180 cm. It was manageable, but something to keep in mind if you’re tall.
The location is very convenient. It’s next to the train station, and you can easily take the subway if you have luggage. It only cost me 2 RMB to ride, so there’s really no need to take a taxi. In the morning, I bought pork steamed buns and soy milk from a nearby vendor, he was friendly, and the food was great.
For $4, this was outstanding value. If you’re looking for a clean, affordable, and convenient place to stay near Shenzhen North, this is an excellent option. Hopefully this review helps anyone considering staying in the area.
SSeven1127The service is excellent. The room is clean, tidy, and very comfortable. Every amenity feels high-quality and well-designed, ensuring a great night's sleep. Breakfast is abundant and varied, and the service is incredibly attentive. Highly recommended – I always stay here when I'm on a business trip.
YYao0106Hygiene: The hygiene was impeccable.
Facilities: The large shower head was very comfortable, and the hot water came on quickly. The smart toilet was a nice convenience. They even provided bath bags for the bathtub. The pool was clean, and the poolside bar had a great vibe at night. There's also a robot that delivers takeaways.
Service: Every staff member I encountered was incredibly warm and friendly. The front desk was very professional and even gave us sand-digging tools. They upgraded our room type, and everyone would proactively greet us when we came and went. The new lady at the front desk had a very friendly smile. On the morning of April 9th, the housekeeping auntie on the 3rd floor was exceptionally good; she immediately provided anything guests needed and was very enthusiastic.
The hotel is right across from an outlet mall, which makes dining and shopping very convenient. Next time I'm in Dameisha, I will definitely stay here again.
Ccircle920As the best hotel in Shenzhen, it truly lives up to expectations. Although it opened several years ago, it's incredibly well-maintained. The bedding and bath products are very thoughtfully chosen, and the welcome tea and snacks were a nice touch. The afternoon tea selection might not be huge, but it's very refined and tastes excellent. I particularly want to mention breakfast – the eggs Benedict were perfectly made, and the braised beef noodles were incredibly authentic. The fresh coconuts also met the high standards you'd expect from a luxury hotel.
However, there was a small hiccup during check-in. When we arrived at our room, we found the door wide open and a man sitting on the sofa! Luckily, a staff member was passing by in the hallway. After hearing what happened, they escorted us to the lobby to clarify the situation. Leo, the lobby manager, sincerely apologized for the hotel's error, and the solution he offered was acceptable. For someone who has stayed in many ultra-luxury hotels worldwide, it's quite unacceptable for a Mandarin Oriental to make such a basic mistake. This was truly a first for me, and I hope the hotel takes this seriously!
GGuest UserMy stay at Crowne Plaza Futian was quite hassle-free this time. The entire check-in process was very smooth, without any lengthy or complicated procedures, which made the experience very comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade, which was a very thoughtful touch. When I provided feedback on a small detail, the issue was addressed and improved very promptly. You can really tell that the hotel is genuinely dedicated to providing excellent service, not just going through the motions. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Futian.
GGuest UserFacilities: Located in an office building, so it's very quiet.
Hygiene: Very new, with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom.
Environment: Plenty of dining and shopping options nearby, very convenient.
Service: Excellent and very welcoming, plus free parking is a bonus.
Highly recommend staying here, it offers superb value for money.
