The ambiance here is rustic and elegant. The second floor is especially quiet – I even joked it felt like having a private floor all to myself. I woke up to birdsong and had a fantastic night's sleep. The decor style is quite subjective; I personally lean towards brighter, more modern aesthetics. However, once I settled in, I found it surprisingly comfortable. But the absolute standout feature of this guesthouse is its location. It's just dozens of meters from the entrance to Sideng Street, meaning you're practically there the moment you step out. You can drive right up to the door, then stroll directly into the ancient town without the hassle of dragging your luggage over cobblestone paths or having a long walk. Initially, I thought the location wasn't that crucial, believing an extra ten-minute walk into the ancient town wouldn't make much difference. But I was wrong. This incredibly convenient spot gave me the luxury of sleeping in as late as I wished and the spontaneity to step out and explore whenever I felt like it – truly the best base for experiencing the town. It even allowed me to take another leisurely stroll through the tourist-free ancient town early in the morning before catching my transport out of Shaxi, offering a completely different perspective.

A very beautiful courtyard hotel in the middle of Shaxi (an also very beautiful town). The rooms are very elegant and big, the beds have heating and the outside is also very beautiful. They also have a very simple but nice breakfast

The breakfast prepared by the host was wonderful, especially the butter, which was absolutely superb!

Felt like travelled back in time staying in this beautiful courtyard. Located just outside the old town where car is still accessible which is convenient for loading/unloading of luggage. Short walk to the old town. There is heated mat on each bed during our winter stay in Dec. Western and Chinese breakfast are available.

It’s a nice house of big family here. Great location which is right outside of the old town. Big vehicle can be accessed. Cozy and lovely stay here.

We love the experience staying in this old hotel. Impressed with the hotel structure and it's finishing that can last for so many years. Breakfast was simple western style which we liked.

This hotel is very beautiful. We are a group of 4 friends and we're very enjoy our family room . The location is very good to explore the Lijiang Old town. We will definitely come back here again.

Charming little hotel set in a classical Chinese garden mansion. Unlike any other experience I have had. Totally lovable.

A very nice ancient homestay Great location. Just a minute walk to the Shaxi Ancient City and you can park the car in front of the hotel and unload your luggages. Room is clean and spacious , heated bed , heater Aircon. Good breakfast. The bathroom is cold because the heated light is not functioning.

The staff were part of the minority tribe group, and they were very helpful and friendly. The entire place and room were decorated according to traditional style and pattern. There was heating and heating mats provided on the beds.
