I stayed at this hotel with my family, including an infant. Since I was traveling with an infant, cleanliness—especially the floor—is extremely important to me. Sadly, this hotel did not meet basic cleanliness expectations. There was a lot of hair on the floor from previous guests. I did call the front desk to request housekeeping to clean the room, but nothing was done after that. Honestly, it was disappointing. The bathroom was even worse. The pipe was leaking.  In terms of amenities, they only provided a toothbrush and one other basic item. For a hotel at this level, I really didn’t expect such minimal amenities. I was surprised that they only gave us one toothbrush when it was clearly a room for two people. On a positive note, breakfast was a pleasant experience. While the variety wasn’t extensive, it was more than enough for a family, including my child. The staff at breakfast were also extremely helpful—they even gave us a kid’s set and helped clean up after my child finished eating. That made the experience feel a bit more family-friendly. Check-out was fast and smooth. However, check-in was a bit slow as they said the room wasn’t ready, even though I arrived at 2PM (check-in policy is 3PM). I would have appreciated it if they had shown more consideration, especially since I had a baby with me. There was also no baby cot or any baby-related facility offered. All in all, if you can find a cheaper hotel, it might be a better value—this one felt just average, nothing special. There was no game room or other family-friendly facilities besides a basic swimming pool. For a hotel marketed at this level, it was pretty underwhelming. On the bright side, the location is great—just walking distance to Ipoh Parade Mall, which was very convenient.

I recently stayed at AC Hotel by Marriott Ipoh. The check-in process was smooth, and the room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The shower was exceptional—I’ve never experienced a rain shower like that before. The pool area was beautiful, and the hotel is conveniently located near many shops and massage centers. Free parking was a great bonus. However, the television was a major letdown. Despite having a large screen, it couldn’t connect to YouTube or Netflix. I paid RM400 hoping to relax and plan my future business, but this issue was a big disappointment. As for breakfast, while the food was tasty, the variety didn’t meet the usual Marriott standard. Overall, it was a pleasant trip. If the TV issue is resolved, I would definitely consider returning.

The lounge on level 2 is way too bright. However, the executive lounge on level 10, as seen in the picture below, is more conducive but was not opened to all. So we had no where to hang around except the pubs infront of hotel.

We stayed here 8 years ago, when the hotel was formerly named The Shyuen. AC Marriot really takes it to the next level, when contemporary and modern meets as one. I am going to rate it based on the category: Room (5/5) The room size is neat, not too big, not too small. Comfortable for our little family. Hotel Lobby (4/5) Feeling relaxed and contented. It's just a bit awkward when there are too many stairs to go up and down a lot. Maybe. Facilities (3/5) The pool was great. The gym was also good. Loved the site of the penthouse and pavilion with the decorating landscape of the garden wedding theme. Some of the facilities are also not yet open due to being under construction. Parking (4/5) It can be quite challenging, especially reaching the turning ramp to the basement level. Hospitality (3/5) There are pros and cons here. Praised to Ms. Jagjeet for attending us throughout the pre checkin process. I called her to confirm and request the two rooms to be side by side, and also got windows. She briefed us smoothly. Only that time when we reached the hotel for checked in. Ms Yi Ying attended us at the counter. She said the deposit amounted to RM400 to be paid by card and continued saying the deposit would be returned directly after checking out the hotel. But after checking out, they say they would have to wait for 7 to 14 days period. We called the manager and they said to comeback to us soon.

Newly renovated hotel, previously known as Syuen Hotel. AC Hotel so far is the best hotel in Ipoh. However the sound proof of the room is really bad, can clearly hear people walking n talking outside the room. Many of the rooms also don't have external view (as shown in my photo). Some good point about this hotel is the room is spacious, sofa also big n comfortable but lack of a coffee table. Car park is free but everytime go out need to validate at the reception. Car park B3 is full of mosquitoes so be careful when park there.

it’s renovated recently, so quite new and clean inside! location is good ! just there’s electricity problem and no back up power source, that’s unusual for a hotel !!

Great hotel, friendly staff, there are place ar level 3 with kbox place. Just next to parkson (big shopping mall)

Room was as shown and very spacious. There was a window but a false wall as view since we had an inside unit that faces the other row of rooms. Love the nice scents from the shampoo/conditioner ‘ shower gel!!  Would be great if guests were allowed to connect to YouTube/Netflix.

Arrived hotel at 330pm but was told the room is not ready and has to wait for an hour. The hotel is new but blanket has smoke smell. Hotel located just stone away from Ipoh Parade which is super convenient.

Our three-night stay exceeded expectations. We were thoroughly impressed by the overall experience, and particularly by the exceptional service provided by receptionist Kai Jun. His professionalism and composure when handling a challenging guest were commendable. Upon arrival, our room was not yet ready, requiring a 20-minute wait. Kai Jun kept us consistently updated on the room's status, ensuring a smooth and comfortable wait in the lobby. While the hotel is relatively new and exhibited a slight paint odor, the use of fragrance minimized its impact. The culinary offerings were a highlight, with both the food and mocktails proving to be exceptionally delicious, complementing Ipoh's renowned food scene. The swimming pool was notably clean, and our spacious city-view room provided a stunning panorama. We highly recommend requesting this view. The staff's attentiveness was evident throughout our stay. They consistently greeted us warmly, adding a delightful touch to our daily experience. Room service was prompt and courteous, although we found it more efficient to request additional amenities, such as pillows and blankets, directly from the staff on our floor rather than via the often-busy phone line. One area for improvement is the parking gantry, which experienced occasional glitches, causing delays for several vehicles. Despite this minor inconvenience, we would highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The location of the hotel is strategic, right at the heart of Ipoh. We ordered cocktails and they were brought up to our room at night. Overall, the stay was great!

recently stayed at this hotel and while everything looked new on the surface, the experience was far from comfortable. First of all, the room had no windows – it felt more like a jail cell than a hotel room. That alone might have been tolerable, but what really ruined the stay was the centralized air-conditioning system. The vent was positioned facing your bed, blowing strong, cold air onto you all night. Even worse, it made an incredibly loud noise, even at the lowest fan speed. It was impossible to get any proper sleep. Seriously, who designs a room like that? Did anyone actually test staying in one of these rooms before opening the hotel? This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who values a good night's rest.

Newly renovated hotel, looks beautiful, would have given 5 stars for cleanliness but found a curly hair on a towel. Check in process was ok, but hotel should review to make it faster. Location is within walking distance to the local heritage buildings and foodie places.

Best location in the centre of town. All the famous eateries are in the area, Ipoh Parade mall literally across the road. Greentown at the back. Hotel itself was the old Syuen refurbished, great job at that. Almost spanking brand new. You'll appreciate how clean and new the rooms are. Free coffee in the lobby. Great service around the clock. Huge pool. This'll be our top choice in Ipoh for awhile from now on. One unfortunate letdown was a loss of power at 2am on my floor and a couple of rooms on our stretch all had to change rooms in the middle of the night, however assistance was great and quick. We'll put it down as an opening glitch.
