"This hotel is an investment by Singapore's Temasek Holdings, and it attracts a good number of international guests, especially from Singapore. The overall environment of the hotel is quite pleasant, feeling almost like a garden. However, there are some shortcomings: 1. The lobby, both in terms of overall size and the front desk area, is very cramped, leading to overcrowding and noise. 2. Among the front desk staff, some colleagues are very dedicated, like Jane, who, despite appearing new, is very conscientious. However, another young man, Jerry, seemed to lack patience. 3. In the rooms, the air conditioning's cooling performance was only average. 4. For a foreign-invested hotel, all the English 'Guest' signs in the elevators were misspelled. Overall, the hotel's location is decent. However, it primarily caters to group tour clients, and the attention given to individual travelers seems to be a bit weaker. I hope to see improvements in the future."

The room was very clean and located inside the hotel, away from the street, so it was incredibly quiet at night – I slept soundly until morning. The window offered ample natural light, and the space was spacious and not at all cramped. The small table was perfect for tea or putting things down. "Service: Excellent! The lady at the front desk was so kind and gentle. She helped us check in, told us all the important details, and personally escorted us to our room. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling with families.

"The inn's location is fantastic, directly across from the Lion Grove Garden, and very close to the Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum, making sightseeing incredibly convenient! I had originally booked the smallest room in the inn. When I arrived, I asked the owner if a free upgrade was possible, as many guests had mentioned being upgraded. Without a second thought, the owner immediately upgraded me to the largest room—the service was truly exceptional! The room decor was beautiful, especially the large bed, which perfectly embodies classical Chinese aesthetics. There was also a tatami tea table and a small arhat bed. The front desk even provides a sewing kit for mending clothes, all of which speaks volumes about the owner's excellent service. I'm definitely planning to stay here again on my next trip to Suzhou."

"First off, the location is excellent. You can easily get there from Metro Line 2, Shilu Station, Exit 12. Just go straight, then turn right, and you'll see a mochi vendor at the entrance. Take the elevator up to the 7th floor for check-in. The hotel itself can be a little tricky to find, though. The shopping mall right behind the subway exit is MixC World, which is super close. Shantang Street and Guanqian Street are also nearby, which is very convenient for tourists. If you take a taxi, it's only about a ten-minute ride. Overall, the hotel environment is pretty good. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and the sanitation is generally clean. The room is very soundproof, but it does feel a bit stuffy since there's no window. I'm not sure if I didn't use the TV correctly or what, but when I tried to cast, it would inexplicably jump to other videos after a while 🤔. If you like this Japanese-style aesthetic, it's worth a stay."

"Stumbled upon an absolutely stunning B&B while walking along Pingjiang Road! The front desk staff recommended booking through their platform. The room was incredibly beautiful and spotless, I loved it! It had smart controls and was very spacious. They even offered a welcome gift, which was such a thoughtful touch! The shower had great water pressure, the hairdryer was powerful, and there were even toilet seat sanitizing wipes in the bathroom – seriously the most considerate B&B I've ever stayed in. The location is also fantastic, right by Pingjiang Road. Plus, they have a hand-drawn map on the wall showing local attractions, which is super helpful. I'll definitely choose this place every time I visit Suzhou in the future! Hope they always have availability, haha."

Water pressure is strong and hot water is on instantly. Tea bag provided is a plus point for night sipping with snack. Location is pretty far for a walk (800 m) from the closest metro station. The English name of the hotel is totally different from that mentioned on Trip.com, which causes confusion when arriving. Competitive rate room for the convenience and location. "Exploring Suzhou, I was fortunate to stay at Jiangnan Zhizao Mansion. This visit felt like stepping into a Jiangnan poem, truly unforgettable. The courtyards and corridors are beautifully laid out, with dark tiled roofs and white walls complemented by lush flora. Every step offers a picturesque view, exuding elegance. Sitting in the courtyard, I felt all the city's hustle and bustle melt away. The guest rooms are clean and refined, with tasteful and comfortable furnishings. The bedding was soft, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The staff were polite and attentive, answering all my questions thoroughly, especially when I inquired about local streets and historical sites, showing genuine hospitality. Staying here, I could easily immerse myself in Suzhou's vibrant life right outside, yet return to a tranquil haven. Every brick and tile whispers the charm of Jiangnan, and every interaction reflects their sincere dedication to hospitality. This wonderful accommodation felt like a celestial being gracing the mortal world, with its elegant charm touching my heart. When I return to Suzhou, I will definitely stay here again. Special thanks to Xiao Liu for their excellent service."

This time, my sister and I visited Suzhou again and booked this hotel 🏨. We stayed here last year, and both the environment and service were excellent! So, we chose to stay here again. The hotel 🏨 is conveniently located right on Pingjiang Road. After checking in, you also get two complimentary tickets to a Pingtan teahouse 🆓. Last time, we had a king-size room, and this time we got a twin room. There's even a rocking chair in the room that my sister found so comfortable she didn't want to go out sightseeing! The hotel 🏨 room rate includes breakfast, and both the braised pork noodles and braised beef noodles were delicious. After breakfast, we took a nice stroll along Pingjiang Road!

As a seasoned traveler with extensive luxury hotel experience (having stayed in nearly a hundred and being a 'Black Diamond Partner'), this was my first time trying the Kimpton brand. My main reason for choosing this hotel was my strong interest in Kengo Kuma's concept of a 'granular structure' Suzhou garden landscape, and I wanted to experience it. The result, I must say, far exceeded my expectations. On the night of my check-in, it was a stormy evening. Under the interplay of wall washers and granular lighting, a beautiful rain curtain formed over the classical eaves. Coupled with the white noise, the quality of sleep significantly improved, and the ambiance was just right. My choice of the 'Cool Garden Water View King Room' was an absolute highlight. The room was spacious and airy, blending the elegance of Suzhou gardens with modern minimalist design. The attention to detail in the room's amenities, a testament to HBA Interior Design, was evident and far surpassed what one would expect at this price point. The room featured a Serta mattress, a capsule coffee machine, and custom-scented bath amenities (available for purchase at the gift shop). What's more, the body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion each had a unique scent! This is a significant step up from most luxury brands that often offer a single citrus scent across the board. The first round of mini-bar drinks was also complimentary, and it's worth noting that the selection featured unique local specialties like 'Wang Shanzha' (hawthorn drink) and white peach soda, rather than just standard colas, showcasing a thoughtful integration of local flavors. Of course, the impeccable and attentive service is a must-mention in this review, easily comparable to (if not surpassing) the butler service at domestic St. Regis hotels (where butler service often isn't 'in-person' unlike in Europe or other Asian St. Regis properties). Our butler, Vickey, proactively added me on WeChat before check-in and was consistently responsive and thoughtful throughout our stay. Whether I was inquiring about hotel facilities, nearby attractions, or had any spontaneous requests, she responded instantly and resolved them efficiently. The hotel's location is also very convenient, nestled in the old city of Gusu – a tranquil retreat amidst the hustle and bustle – making it easy to access attractions like the Humble Administrator's Garden and Pingjiang Road. From the top-notch hardware to the warm service, this stay was flawless, and I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Suzhou.

I rarely write long reviews, but this hotel, at best, is a business hotel. Don't try to market it as a family-friendly hotel when it's clearly not. Just adding a few kid activities and a small train doesn't make it one. 1. The room had absolutely no children's amenities: no kids' toothbrushes, no kids' slippers. You couldn't even install a bed rail because there was nowhere to attach it. 😂 2. The showerhead was broken, with water leaking from the side. 3. There were only two extremely high pillows. Seriously, don't standard hotels usually provide four pillows? Two high, two low? I ended up having to sleep with clothes propped under my head. 4. The front desk staff (the guy with glasses) during both check-in and check-out had the same unhelpful attitude as a budget hotel chain's front desk. In fact, a budget hotel might even be more welcoming. If you don't want to work during the May Day holiday, just switch shifts! 😠 5. The housekeeping auntie definitely hasn't been trained. She was pushing a huge mattress and nearly hit a child while turning a corner. The only positive feedback I have is for the kind female front desk staff member who enthusiastically helped me find my lost ID card.

We stayed 1 night in this lovely hotel on a Sunday night. We managed to check in early at 1 pm and was upgraded from the 30 sqm king room we booked to a larger 41 sqm room. The room is new and used lovely bath amenities, an Australian hotel brand. Our stay came with a set dinner for 2 persons and the food was delicious. The pricing in the hotel restaurant is similar or cheaper than any other regular Chinese restaurant outside. We paid the next day at lunch time to eat Chinese food at the hotel again as the restaurant environment is nice and service is good. They have a very well equipped gym which unfortunately we did not have time to use during our 24 hour stay. Our room rate included breakfast and the selection was generous, the only negative would be the coffee beans they used are too acidic but that’s a personal preference. The location of the hotel is slightly to 1 side of the Suzhou old city but some sights like 网师园 are walking distance. Suzhou city is actually quite spread out, no one location is best for sightseeing. The great thing is didi only cost less than RMB10 per ride from this hotel so it is still very convenient. I would not bother with the Suzhou subway, it is not as convenient as the one in Shanghai. Oh yes, the cable TV have english programming which is nice for a hotel in China. I believe this Artyzen Habitat brand is managed by the Macau Shun Tak group. Will stay here again for good value and service. 这个酒店非常好,值得回来再住。五星级的设施,四星级的价钱。

The room was clean and tidy, and the comb was very unique. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, which was a big plus. The location was excellent, with the subway, bus, and major attractions like Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum all within a 15-minute walk. Along the way, there were commercial streets with snacks and local specialties, and places like Yaba Shengjian and Guanqian Street were not far, making it very convenient! After a long day of sightseeing, returning to the hotel was a great way to unwind! The open-air patio was particularly interesting; I happened to catch it during the rain, which added a wonderful ambiance! The service was exceptionally good; they were very patient and helpful with services like mailing. Highly recommended! The room also featured central air conditioning, electric curtains, and an automatic toilet!

I arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner.   I didn’t and still don’t  have an eSIM that can make local  call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free.  I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands.  I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.  I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their  blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop  to Suzhou which was my next destination.  This  operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a  lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.  After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge .  If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass.  Do check with the owner for up to date information.  The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.  Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. .  There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from  the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy.  It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances. The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.  This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.  I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in  Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I  couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket.
