"We had a fantastic stay! The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We were pleasantly surprised by how large and well-planned the room layout was, especially the automatic blinds which were perfect for blocking out light. The beds were extremely comfortable with fluffy pillows, allowing us to have a great night's sleep. While the AC temperature took a little while to lower to our desired level, it was not a breaking point and everything else was perfect. Added perks included free parking and complimentary ice cream for children’s day weekend. We will definitely visit again"

Hua Tai Hotel Hotels in Hsinchu

Hua Tai Hotel

"Staying at the Hua Tai Hotel (Hua Tai Classic Business Hotel) in Hsinchu is a bit like stepping back into the 1980s. It’s nostalgic, straightforward, and arguably the best "bang for your buck" if you want to be right in the heart of the city. Here is a balanced review based on the current 2026 guest experience: The HighlightsPrime Location: You couldn't ask for a better spot for transit. It is a 3-minute walk from the Hsinchu Railway Station and within an 8-minute stroll to the City God Temple Night Market. If you enjoy being where the action is, this is it. Value for Money: For a budget-friendly price (often around $25–$30 USD), you get a surprisingly spacious room. Unlike many modern "shoebox" hotels, these rooms have plenty of floor space. Breakfast Buffet: Many guests are pleasantly surprised by the breakfast. It’s a local spread—think braised pork rice (Lu Rou Fan), porridge, and stir-fried vegetables—alongside basic toast and coffee. Unexpected Perks: Even the budget rooms often come with a bathtub, which is a rare find at this price point. The hotel also offers free use of a washing machine on the first floor. The "Old School" RealityVintage Vibes: The hotel is definitely showing its age. You’ll find wooden doors with traditional locks, dated carpets, and some "dusty" corners. It’s clean where it counts (the sheets and towels), but it doesn’t feel "modern."No Central Heating: Like many older buildings in Taiwan, there is usually no heater in the rooms. If you visit during a cold snap in January or February, it can feel a bit chilly inside. Eco-Friendly Policy: As of 2025, they no longer provide disposable amenities (toothbrushes, combs, etc.) due to government regulations, so remember to pack your own! Windowless Rooms: If you book the "Comfort" or "Economy" tiers, be aware that many of these rooms do not have windows. The Verdict 7.5/10 — The Practical Traveler’s Choice If you are looking for a "main character" aesthetic for your TikTok or a luxury spa experience, this isn't the place. However, if you need a safe, quiet, and incredibly convenient base for a night or two while exploring Hsinchu, Hua Tai Hotel is a reliable classic that won't break the bank."

"Located a bit out of the way, rooms are nice but not luxurious - large selection of free movies is definitely a plus. Restaurant and bar very well decorated but still feel claustrophobic due to building design."

Carlton Hotel ★★★★
"I loved my room - very spacious and it came with a balcony with a cycling padding machine. There are a few things which I dislike are 1.lack of socket outlet - this is very obvious at the work desk area. if I need to work, I need to remove the lights socket and replaced with my laptop plug. So I have to work in very dim condition or to work on bed. 2. height of the socket outlet at work desk area is a bit out - I had to adjust the desk in another direction in order to work. 3. the height of the seat at the work desk area is not ideal - way too low 4. hair dryer is driving me crazy - other than mini size, it stopped every other min. N it would start again after a few mins rest. Other than the above mentioned, I am still happy with the hotel. When I mentioned about the hair dryer issue, the attendants at the reception were very helpful - they passed me another normal size hair dryer. I would come back again."
