Hot Springs Hotels in Shari

Hotel with a view. We stayed in a traditional Japanese set up room. It is v spacious and comfortable. At night it turned into a futon bed. The facilities & hot spring onsen bath is amazing.

Our third consecutive stay in Japan’s onsen scene brought us to Kitakobushi Shiretoko Hotel & Resort. Though labelled as a 3-star hotel, this resort is the very definition of an underrated masterpiece. From the moment we arrived, it became clear this experience would rival any five-star destination we’ve ever visited. Our room was a slice of paradise—spacious, serene, and offering a panoramic view of the breathtaking sea. Perfect for a moment of calm after a day of exploring. It was hard to tear ourselves away from the window, with its infinite horizon stretching beyond the blue waters. The bath experience was equally indulgent, with Dyson and Refa hairdryers in the public bath area. The soap and shampoo provided in the public baths? Luxurious, premium products that they also retail on-site. A small but significant touch that elevates this from your average onsen. Where do I even begin with the buffet? It was nothing short of culinary theatre. Imagine live cooking stations serving up dishes with the flair of a fine dining restaurant. From sashimi so fresh, it redefined how I think about lean tuna—the texture was almost reminiscent of beef!—to the incredibly generous portions of salmon roe. Each dish was top-tier, but the dessert station truly took my breath away. A unique pumpkin and sweet potato creation was the surprise highlight, and I couldn’t help but indulge in multiple helpings of the organic apple, crisp and fresh like it was picked that very morning. For fitness enthusiasts, there’s even a decent gym—a rarity for many onsen hotels. Meanwhile, the 24-hour lounge provides a range of delectable snacks, all of which are sold in their store. And though the prices may seem steep, the taste makes them worth every yen. The free daily scoop of Peter Beier ice cream was simply divine. Made with Hokkaido milk, the vanilla was already a showstopper, but the pistachio took the experience to another level. After this, it was impossible not to purchase their chocolate truffles—pricey, but easily worth the splurge. The experience extends outside the hotel, where an outdoor foot bath awaits with a view that will make you feel like you’ve entered another world. As long as the weather cooperates, this is an experience not to be missed. In short, Kitakobushi Shiretoko Hotel & Resort might officially be a 3-star, but in our hearts, it’s a five-star experience through and through. A perfect blend of luxury, nature, and comfort, it’s an onsen resort that deserves to be on every discerning traveller’s radar.

I loved my stay here! The service is good and the staff are friendly. There's a small lounge area near the lobby of the hotel where you can access tea, coffee, sodas, beer, and some small snacks. My room was comfortable and spacious. The public bath was huge with 6 indoor pools of differing temperatures, an outdoor pool, and a sauna (or 2). The lounge at the bath area offers a vitamin c drink, isotonic drink, and popsicles. Meals were buffets with plenty to choose from and a couple of live stations. Food options leaned towards being western-influenced. 10/10 would stay again.

It's a very big old hotel, a bit run down. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's a bit far on foot from the ”center” of Utoro (convenience store). Only one elevator for the section of the hotel I was in, is insufficient. You can have toothbrushes at will, but on the other hand to wash yourself, there is only one sample of shampoo per day. In any classic hotel that respects itself, you will find containers of soap for the body, shampoo and conditioner.

Although somebody may prefer higher-order accommodation, this hotel is very very great for me and my family. Located just in front of JR Shiretoko Shari Station, it can be very convenient for me and my family to catch a train to somewhere else. The other excellence of the hotel is that there is a convenience store just across the zebra line. The hotel staff, from front desk receptionist to housekeepers, they all tried their best to answer my questions and make up my room. The price of the hotel is quite reasonable. I stayed there for consecutively 8 nights, I found that the price if very very reasonable.

The location is quite convenient. I booked a mountain view room. The room is very large and has tatami mats where you can sit and eat. There are hot springs to soak in, which are separate for men and women, and there are open-air hot springs. The room is fully equipped with toiletries. Shiretoko is really beautiful. It was a great trip~

The service staff are very polite, smiling and can communicate in English. The room is large and comfortable; free drinks are provided in the lobby, and you can also enjoy a private hot spring session for free. The scenery outside the hotel is beautiful and you can watch the sunset.

Absolutely loved everything about this place! I stayed overnight with my friend and her family. Yuta (owner's son) and his mother went above and beyond to give us spectacular experience! Food was top quality, facility was extremely clean, Onsen water was so silky, delicious Gelato and good opportunity to try varieties of Japanese alcohol. This place made our visit to Hokkaido extra special. Thank you for taking good care of us and spending quality time with Matthew! He adores you!! ps. The hotel is on the top of the mountain (next to the Xidai attraction), and it takes 20 minutes to walk up from the bus station. What I'm more concerned about is that there is a cemetery opposite It rained heavily on the day we arrived, and I couldn't see anything from the window, which made me very unhappy. Fortunately, it cleared up after the rain the next day, so the beautiful scenery was not wasted. There is only one receptionist in the hotel. The door will be locked after 8pm and you need to press the password to enter. The hotel provides instant noodles and drinks, each person can take one, and can only eat in the public restaurant area. Foreigners and Japanese also buy vegetarian seafood to cook You can see the sea from the hot spring area. I like the lazy sofa in the lobby the most. I can lie on it and watch the sea while sleeping. I don’t know if it’s because of the peak season, but at 1,400 yuan, it’s quite expensive to stay in this kind of hotel.

It is a large B&B on a hillside. The owner will explain everything about staying here very carefully to the customers. It is very impressive. The whole environment is well organized and well managed. It makes you feel at home. This time I stayed in a new hotel. Floor, there is a faint scent of mats in the spacious room, the dinner is sumptuous, the service in the cafeteria is very good, and the sense of ceremony is full. After dinner, I soaked in the hot springs, which was very comfortable to relieve fatigue. I saw many people traveling on motorcycles staying here There are many high-end motorcycles here, which shows that it is a popular inn. I will choose to stay here next time.
