Excellent location to walk in the bay and park and gardens. Near good eating places too. Near airport as well. Enjoyed local food call poke as in pic.

This hotel was a very affordable option that throws you right in the heart of Banyan Drive near other hotels. I believe you receive the full Hilo experience when you room at Reed’s Bay because they treat you like ʻohana, or family. I enjoyed my time spent there, and I would highly recommend this hospitable hotel.

Room has no a/c, 4 statiins on television, and they charged me an extra night without my approval, and was not going to give me my refund for that...the front desk/manager said its not their fault..they were rude and unfriendly...I will not go back again...

Without exaggeration or understatement, for a hotel in Hawaii costing just over $1,000, this hotel, from the front desk lady to the security guard to the guests, was incredibly friendly. Most importantly, the location is incredible—quiet and peaceful amidst the bustle. See the pictures for yourself. Parking is completely free, and there's plenty of space even when returning home at night. They even thoughtfully provide parking signs, and if the parking lot is full, you can park on the curb without towing. This hotel exceeded expectations. Definitely book the ocean view room; it's absolutely stunning.

The surrounding scenery is very nice, and you can see large ships (cruise ships) entering the bay. It has a kitchen and you can buy things from Walmart nearby, which is very cost-effective. Self-driving is optional on the big island. Sleep peacefully.

No air conditioning, but it's a comfortable place, so it's ok.

A very retro American country hotel. I was a little worried about the poor hygiene and facilities when I read the reviews on Google before, but the final stay experience was far beyond my expectations and I felt it was worth the money. Facilities: Very retro, like something from an old American TV series, but there are no faulty facilities. If you need hot water, you can ask the front desk for a water heater. Hygiene: I always see that there are bugs because it is very close to the sea and greenery. There is no air conditioning in the hot season, but we didn't feel it when we stayed during the Spring Festival. It was very suitable. Environment: Superb, you can see the sea and swimming pool as soon as you open the door. The location is also very good. It is not far from the airport or the volcano. You can also go for food soon after leaving. Service: Very good, there is reception even at night and they are very enthusiastic to register the license plate. The parking lot has limited parking spaces. If it is full, you can go to the big 🈳 muddy field diagonally opposite to park. In short, it is highly recommended

It was a very quiet room where you could hear the sound of the waves at a hotel in the sea. Also, the hotel staff are very kind. I was completely satisfied. I will stay there if I come again.

It is a cost-effective hotel near the airport, but the environment, sanitation, facilities and services are quite average. You have to climb stairs to get to your room. The rooms on both sides of the long corridor look like migrant workers' dormitories. The doors, floors and locks are all relatively old. There was no breakfast, no cleaning, and no service at all during the stay.

Yesterday was pretty good.
