Hakone Onsen Ryokan Yaeikan Reviews

We got to the hotel in the beautiful location just before 3pm and we got given a little tour of the place and then got shown to our room. The staff are very friendly and do their best to speak English. A lovely lady was in charge of our hospitality throughout our stay and she first showed us that there is a public hot spring and a private hot spring and asked us if we would like to book a time to use the private hot spring, we booked a time as we checked in but then we didn’t use it as we were happy with our private hot spring in the room. We also booked a time for dinner and they arrived at that time Promptly with A LOT of food. We also got a choice for a staple food and we chose some steak which was high quality and delicious, as well as the lobster (on the menu it said grilled prawn but a lobster is what came and it was delicious). We ordered a few beers and a bottle of wine with room service and it always came quickly and was nice and cold. The private hot spring is absolutely boiling but it’s a good experience and there’s ice water provided which helps. Breakfast came at 8.30am and it was also huge! It didn’t come with coffee but I ordered some and that was easy enough. The lady who served our food explained every dish and how to eat it and she was always extremely friendly and attentive. Would recommend!

The facilities are old, but the staff are friendly! I also liked the policy of being able to use the family bath for 30 minutes. However, it is not recommended for elderly travelers because there is no elevator and the stairs are steep. If you are traveling with a family with a stroller or have a carrier, they will help you move your luggage, so don't worry too much. The breakfast is very neat and delicious. In particular, the beef aged in soybean paste and grilled mackerel were really great~

I would recommend everyone to experience this ryokan at least once. A huge room with a kitchen, dining room, bedroom, bathroom, toilet and a hot bath. There is no window in the room with the bath, but because the bath is hot, you don't feel the coolness, but you can enjoy the views of the mountains. Dinner and breakfast - my respects! Gigantic and filling, but in the Japanese spirit. Fans of continental breakfasts in regular hotels will be sad. The staff is friendly. They try to speak English. It is not always possible to understand each other, but they try very hard! A special plus for this!

I suddenly had time off and wanted to go to a hot spring in Hakone for an overnight stay, so I searched for a place to stay and found Yaeikan. The price was very reasonable, the service was good, and best of all, the room with an open-air bath was the best. The hot spring water was free-flowing, so I could bathe in the hot spring 24 hours a day, and I enjoyed breakfast in my room. It was a very satisfying trip.

Great service and hotel!

The refrigerator in the room was very dirty. I felt sick after opening it and closed it immediately, so I don't know if it was dust or mold, but I think it would be a good idea to clean the inside of the refrigerator as well. The teapot that was placed right above the refrigerator also had tea leaves and water left on it, so I thought it might not have been washed, and I couldn't use it. Also, at dinner, a foreign staff member took my tea utensils without asking me. I wanted to drink tea after the hot spring, but I wish they had asked me before taking it down. Also, when I left, I didn't close the door, so I stood up and closed it myself. Other than the above three points, the hot spring facilities and the person who guided me to my room were very kind, so I had no complaints.

The facilities are old. It is called a hot spring hotel, but the hot spring facilities are too old. The bath water is small and the pool is simple. There is no public restaurant, and meals are delivered directly to the room. Not recommended

The air conditioner waits for cooling for more than 2 hours, and the noise is very loud, which seriously affects your rest!

Very beautiful traditional Japanese Wenzhou hotel It is the tatami I always wanted to stay in The kaiseki cuisine for dinner and breakfast is very rich and delicious~ It is refreshing to smell the breath of nature and soak in the hot springs here... It is beautiful! Be careful when going up and down the wooden stairs❤️

The room is old-style Japanese style with wooden floor. The downside is that there is no elevator and it is difficult to move the luggage. There is no bathing facility in the room, only public bathing facilities. The bathroom is very cramped.
